Bryce is into the NBA, big-time, so he's dragging me back into it ever so slightly. I'll be a Wolves' fan if I follow the NBA any closer this season.

Must stay true to the Orangemen, both here in the 'Cuse and in the NBA! Jonny and Wes were two of my favorites in Orange.

The Suns got a former Cuse alum now too...Warrick. I like him, but man is he dumb. No basketball smarts at all it seems.

Ha. He was an underclassmen at my high school when I was senior. Basketball smarts aren't the only kind of smarts he's lacking.

He'll always be a legend in Syracuse. Extended his 9 zillion-foot wingspan to block Kirk Hinrich's last-gasp shot from the corner in the NCAA Championship game in 2003, sealing the title for the 'Cuse.

Oh yeah, the game I predicted the exact score and outcome in these very forums.

I remember that team very well.

And yes, I was referring to him being dumb all around...was just trying to sugar coat it a bit as to not completely jinx my favorite team.

Preparing for the the ass thumping my Sixers will get from the Heat tonight. I hope they compete but I can't see it. Looking forward to watching Jrue Holliday's development. For those that don't know, he's probably the best young PG prospect in the NBA. Great defender and his perimeter game was much better than advertised.

Whoa...slow down. There are at least 5 guys in their first couple years of the league who have higher upsides...the first five that pop into my mind: Westbrook, Jennings, Wall, Rose, Curry, Evans, Stuckey...ok, I'll stop there just because my fingers are getting tired.

That's fine but how many years are you considered a prospect? He's in his second year now correct? I'll take Curry, Wall, Evans, etc...all in their second years as well (except for rookie Wall). Are the guys I mentioned not prospects because they are already bonafide NBA stars?

Point taken. Holiday barely saw the floor the first half of the season so he didn't have the opportunities all the other guys had. That is why I label him a prospect. I guess my point is he is a very good young player ready to blossom.

By the way, the Sixers 10/11 season starts with...a 24 sec violation!

What a GREAT night last night! I know it's only one game, and it was against a tired Celtic team, but WOW, that was a huge win!!! 1-0 never felt so sweet!

I'm really looking forward to this year. This is going to be a fun "TEAM" to watch! GO CAVS!!!!!!!

The Wolves lost by 1 last night. They are trying a run and gun approach this year. Unfortunately their shot selection in the final 3 mins was horrific.

We did have a funny thing happen in our section. The Wolves mascot "Crunch" was handing out free popcorn to a couple of rows. When he handed a box to a Kings fan,the guy started throwing popcorn at him. He eventually threw the box back at Crunch and had to be restrained by his buddy. Crunch leeft and came back in the next qrt with a popcorn blowing flame thrower. He covered the guy in popcorn. Don't know if it was a setup or not,but we had a good laugh over it.

Bottom line on the Wolves. The Target Center was less than half full for the opener. This city won't have a team in 3 years.

It would be sweet if the Cavs do great and Miami falls on their faces.

My Hawks also looked great in the opener. What a difference a new coach makes! Atlanta is now running a "motion offense" and moving the ball around like I have never
seen them do before. No more relying on Joe Johnson and his one on one play. Only one game, but so far I like it!

I am sure the cleanup crew just loves him after that... Cleaning up an arena must be one step up from being jobless. That is a job I don't think I could ever do.. But like you said, the joint is 1/2 full so it's 1/2 the work.


As for the T Wolves leaving town, I am not surprised. Minnesota is a state full of fair weather fans. This is the "state of Hockey" but still lost the North Stars due to poor attendance. The Vikings have been threatening to leave for years now, due to the Dome. Minnesota will fill up the Xcel for Wild games and come close to selling out all Vikings games, but I remember a few years ago when the Twins were terrible and would only draw 15,000 a night. There just aren't enough die hard fans who support the local teams. People here are like Lakers fans, they go to the game for the experience, not because they're true fans. When the teams do make the playoffs, everyone in town is buzzing. I guess it could be worse and they could be the Tampa Bay Rays and play an LDS in front of a less than full house, lol. The only local team I ever really followed was the Stars. Once they left I was done. I enjoy going to games, but Minnesota is a bad market. If you were the best Nba player in the league, do you want to play in boring, cold Minnesota or play in Madison Square Garden or out in LA? No one wants to come here. KG basically realized he wasted the prime of his career here, trying to take a team of over-achievers to the finals. I am just glad I am a sports fan and not a Minnesota fan, since it's tough out here.

Watch the first ten minutes of the Clippers/Blazers game and wow did Blake Griffin look dominant. Dude was flying out of the gym with some big dunks and rebounds. Looks like that surgically repaired knee is just fine. Great to see!

The ultimate trap game for the Celtics last night...after the emotional beatdown they put on the Heat, they were bound to fail in their next game, especially on the back end of a back to back. Don't get your hopes up. Still got 30 and under.

I do love JJ Hickson...I was hoping that if the Suns were going to lose Stoudemire, they would have traded him last year to Cleveland and brought in Hickson to replace him. Instead I get Hedo, Warrick and Frye on an inflated contract. Oh how awesome it is to be a Suns fan. Ugh.

After living here for 2+ years I agree. The StarTrib claims 17,000 fans were at the Target Center last night. What a crock of s***. I'll bet it was more around 8-9,00 people there at best.

Speaking of the NBA, Kevin Durant and John Wall are dragging me back to the Association. Those dudes, especially Wall, are just so entertaining to watch. Wall may have a 1:1 assist-to-turnover ratio, but he has more moves than Bobby Fischer against Boris Spassky.

My 9-year-old son digs the NBA, so that little bastard is pulling me into that world again, too.

taking advantage of mismatches on switches. It doesn't look like they miss Amare all that much. They pushed the
pace just as much as the Hawks, but the difference in the game I thought was that the Suns shot lights out from
the arc.

The biggest problem for the Suns is rebounding. Even with Stoudemire they were getting out-rebounded often, and now they're an even shorter team. When you give up tons of offensive rebounds, you can't expect to do that well, but they have a whole season to try and figure it out.
