So who's going to watch Friends tonight?
Or admit to it. I admit I'm going to watch it...well, probably Tivo it and watch it tomorrow or this weekend some time. When it first televised, I was a big fan of the show. A lot of my friends were. But after year 2 or 3, it seemed like the comedy felt rather contrived or rehashed. There have been so many less than stellar episodes over the past two years, that it's definitely the right time to end it. I was extremely disappointed in last week's show. For it to be the second to last show, it was downright unfunny and boring.
Anyways, anyone else going to be tuning in? Can't believe how much the commercial advertisement is worth.

Count me out. Haven't really watched it in years. If the wife were in town this week she'd have it on. I'm sure she'll be watching it up in Beantown. Instead I'm going to go abuse my body some more with 2-3 hours of cycling and running.
BTW, sitcoms for me these days are the Monday CBS ones (though Raymond wears a bit thin these days), Scrubs on NBC (love that one), and Bonnie Hunt's show on ABC Fridays (clever writing). Sometimes the George Lopez show is pretty good.

No plans to. God, it is SO f'in ridiculous the extent to which people will go to watch a TV show (not meaning you guys). Here in Chicago there are ad's all over the radio for bars that are having Friends Finally parties. YUCK!!!!!!!!! Truly sad IMO. (but then again I do not get the whole ‘bar scene’ anyway).
But, I have never really been a fan of the show. I have seen it here and there and have seen some funny ones, but I have never watched it regularly. My girlfriend might want to watch it out of curiosity so I won’t not let her, but I will probably just go on the laptop and paly some MVP or do some ‘photoshopping’ while it’s on (if it even is at our house).

I have enjoyed it up until the last couple of years. Haven't really watched it at all this year, other than 1 or 2 episodes. I think it's a pretty funny show and still watch reruns if I'm eating dinner or something. I'll probably watch it tonight just to see how it ends.
However, my Thursday nights will now be filled with Trailer Park Boys on BBC America.

I'm stoked to watch this for the first time tonight based on everyone's advice in here. This show, plus re-runs of "The Office," could make BBC America even more of a "Must See TV" destination for me Thursday nights instead of the pap that NBC tries to pass off as comedy.
In fact, everything I watch Thursdays is made in Britain or on a British channel: "Dream Team," "The Office" and "Trailer Park Boys." Well, gotta throw in "Road to the Tour" and "The Lance Chronicles" on OLN as American shows, too.
Take care,
PK

Joey is the only funny one on that entire show...it's pretty pathetic. At least he's gettin' his own show rather than Ross or some stupid s*** with Phoebe.
How f'n hot did Rachel look in the last scene...good lawd.
Speaking of hot, did anyone see Kate Beckinsale on Letterman last night. Hottest woman on the planet. #1 on my list, without hesitation.

What a weak weak final episode. It was downright torture to watch the last half of the show. Everything was so incredibly ridiculously dumb, that the wife and I were getting aggravated with the horrendous urealistic story line.
And maybe it's just me, but Jennifer Anniston doesn't do anything for me. Sure, she's cute but there's something about her that comes off as quite annoying. I'll never quite understand how she won best female comedy actor in a sitcom a couple years ago......
Pathetic. Good riddance.

I can't believe I'm apologizing for "Friends," the most overrated sitcom ever, but it's tough for writers to match the hype and expectations of the fan base any time a long-running show ends.
"Seinfeld" was brilliant, but the final episode was dopey at best. The whole deal with them getting arrested for failing to help the passer-by was quirky in "Seinfeld" fashion but neither edgy or funny, hallmarks of the show.
"M*A*S*H" is one of the few shows I can remember that had a memorable finale. That was quite good ...
