Dolphins are soooo uneven as a team this year which pisses me off to no end. They'll look and play good on D and then just get rolled, frustrating as hell. Henne really needs to look off every no and then. Defenders are starting to read that habit he's got. Nice game by Brandon Marshall and Jason Allen has also had a nice game.

Cameron Wake is just a beast on D. Why he was let go by the Giants or whoever released him to play in the CFL before the Dolphins got him is probably regretting it now.

I have seen TWO blatant horse collars ignored today. EXTREMELY blatant as to the point where there is ZERO doubt.

Is that still a penalty? or have they decided to let them play? I am good either way. I just want to know what the rules are for fear they will turn that call into another NBA thing. I am getting spooked with the openings the NFL seems to be creating for cheating.

This is officially the 2000 season redux. There isn't a complete team in the league and the mediocrity is stultifying. So many bad games the last couple weeks. Close games should not be mistaken for good ones.

With D. Branch traded back to NE, I was a bit worried about the Seahawks offense, especially away from home where they just can't seem to win. But the running game showed up today, they were able to knock around Cutler a few times and Hasselbeck was sharp. Good win for SEA in the windy city where they don't fare too well.

I'm biased but I actually think the Steelers are a pretty complete team right now. It's a such long season, though, and an injury or two could change that in a big hurry. Their next 4 games (at Miami, New Orleans and Cincinnati and at home against New England) should be a lot of fun to watch.

If I were ranking the teams today I would have them at the top. In a year where everyone has holes, the return of Ben makes them as solid as it gets.
It is the other year and I wouldnt bet against that every other year or so thing.

I mentioned how quickly injuries can turn things around for a good team -- but I still liked reading James Harrison's quotes in the Cleveland Plain Dealer this morning:

"James Harrison knocked Browns receivers Josh Cribbs and Mohamed Massaquoi out of Sunday's 28-10 Steelers victory with crushing blows to the head about seven minutes apart in the second quarter. Afterward, Harrison showed no remorse and his teammates praised the hits.

"I thought Cribbs was asleep," said Harrison, the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. "A hit like that geeks you up -- it geeks everybody up -- especially when you find out that the guy is not really hurt -- he's just sleeping. He's knocked out, but he's going to be OK. After all these years, beating the Browns and knocking out some of their guys in the process is just as much fun as it's always been. And the Ravens and Cowboys both lost yesterday, too, so all is right with the world this morning.
