I just wish this game had some of the same pre-release deals we've seen for some of the other sports games this year. Best I've seen is a $10 gift card towards a future purchase.

Last year I was able to pick up a copy from Wal-Mart on Black Friday for $25. But yeah, it'd be nice to see at least a $20 gift card.

Amazon did have a pre-bonus special going it was either $10 or $20 for the PS360 versions. That's why I should have jumped on the pre-order special they had going on for the PC version. It would have cost me $9.99

Just checked Amazon:

"Order this game, for PS3 or Xbox 360, and get $10 off a future purchase from the Amazon Video Games store."

Meh, I'll pass on that pre-order deal. Some of the sports games this year could be had just about anywhere pre-release for $29.99, so that's awfully pale in comparison. I wonder if it's 2k and EA who decides these things or if it's Amazon. Either way, it sucks this time around.

I love the production values of 2k's tutorials this year. And I almost forgot that greats other than Jordan (Magic, Ewing, Worthy, etc.) are also going to be included. Great stuff.

I haven't played basketball videogames in a long time but this looks great. Just having the old Laker/Bulls/Celtics teams would be enough for me to buy it. Even the current teams looks realistic.

Other than a game like NBA JAM, it's hard for me to sit thru a basketball videogame. Seems like football videogames, they just take too long to play.

I wonder if BB will also do it. They did it the previous 2 years, some time after TRU.

Good if you're a reward zone member.

But the way game prices are falling, you may not need to spend $120.

I was reading through the early impressions over at OS and saw this about being able to save online settings, which is a small but great piece of news IMO:

"Wow what can I say....I played a few online games... from the jump...didn't even hit the practice court. First guy I played had the Thunder. While he was going one on one every single time. I was running the Thunders set to perfection. Durant finished with 13, Green had 9 and Westbrook with 5. The defense is amazing. Some people are going to complain at first. But this is a major face lift for the 2k series.

But on to the second game. I start the game. Thinking like the past 2k's that I had to change my camera view. (Also not remembering that I didn't have to do it for the first game.) And it hit me......Online setting save!!!!
Online they have much user friendly unranked lobby system. I didn't experience any lag with last night. And they were about 6,000+ online. We truly won't know until later tonight when everyone will be on. But regardless its a good start."

Picking mine up at lunch as long as they have a copy available. I didn't pre-order.

Gamer reviews have been extremely positive which has me excited to play this evening. Although, many have said that the difficulty has been ramped up than in previous years. Sounds like it's more difficult to pass the ball inside, and getting to the basket doesn't seem as easy. I'm not one for calling plays, so I'm hoping using "auto" plays won't put me at a disadvantage.

Could be wrong, but I think K-Mart has a $20 future gaming purchase with the purchase of NBA 2K11.

Game is phenomenal. The intro is absolutely amazing! Bulls fans will be extremely pleased.

There are so many new animations, presentation is the best of any sports game ever.

The retro teams are really detailed and play to their abilities. I'm super impressed and this game has elevated itself which I didn't think was possible.

So how about the online performance?

Including the team games?

That's been the Achilles Heel the last couple of years.

I LOVE the intro to the game which also puts you right into the 1991 NBA Finals against the Lakers.. I lost big time, but I agree that the presentation at the beginning of the game gave me chills.

WOW.. what a job 2k did.. I couldn't imagine what 2k would be at right now with an NFL game.

The whole package is quite impressive and I'll say this again, I don't buy NBA games.

Off to play some more...
