A nice simple yet very addictive game is Golf Putt Pro.
For those that have it......what's your high score? Mine is currently only 2330 for "3 Lives".

Getting back to game...
The iPad version of Madden is pretty nice. You can draw offensive and defensive hot routes which is an incredible tool, I also recommend Chaos Rings which is a JRPG.
Together both these games will run you $29 which is less then one DS game.

I got the V-Moda Duo phones off Amazon for $20 or $25 shipped, original price $100.JackB1 wrote:these iphone earphones suck......

They're in-ear phones though, so they're different than the standard phones.

Did u read the reviews on Amazon? There are a lot of people saying they just stop working after a few months.
Any problems with yours yet?
Re: IPhone/ITouch Game App Thread
No problems but it's only been a month or two.

Anyone tried Game Center?
The only game I have on my Ipod Touch that has GC support is Removem which I tried. Worked fine.

Real Golf 2011 for iPhone has been released. Supposed to be quite good.

What Twitter app are you guys using?
I just want one that notifies me that I have new tweets to check out.

Re: IPhone/ITouch Game App Thread
I use the official "Twitter" app. Love it. Not sure if it notifies you about new tweets but I am following so many people I'm not sure I'd want my phone alerting me all the time.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:What Twitter app are you guys using?

JackB1: DL'ed RealGolf2011 and was pretty underwhelmed. Probably the best golf app but still not a lot of fun IMO. The ball physics are weak and the swing mechanics just aren't fun for me.

Ok gang, I need a little advice. I'm getting an iPad for my b-day, and I'm interested in hearing from folks who have lived with the thing for a while and I'd love to see a list of your top 5 apps for it. I'm curious what works really well on the thing, what shows it off nicely, what's useful, what's fun, all that stuff.

Re: IPhone/ITouch Game App Thread
When's your b-day? Just asking because as I'm sure you are aware, there are rumors that the next gen Ipad will have a camera for Facetime as well as a likely boost in RAM. I personally don't find the need for Facetime to be all that important as we can use my wife's work laptop to Skype.Zeppo wrote:Ok gang, I need a little advice. With regards to your question though, my top five apps are as folllows:
USA Today
Netflix
Weatherbug
Zillo
Appshopper
Flixter (honorable mention)
There are obviously a ton more but these are ones I use everyday.
Re: IPhone/ITouch Game App Thread
What a nice gift the iPad will be Zeppo. Love my Wi-Fi 32GB version and these are the apps I frequent often.
My top 5 in no particular order are Pulse News, Reeder, Sounhound, AppAdvice and Pages which I use for work purposes. I also like to check different currencies worldwide because of my International travels in 'icurrencypad'. iBook is very neat for your reading enjoyment but I am also building a nice collection library with Kobo HD.
I am pretty sure that the next version a camera or two will be added along the retina screen which is a thing of beauty for the iphone 4 but as it is I watch a lot of movies on the iPad as well and the quality is great.
Games galore are available for your enjoyment, just make sure you get a good size for your HD space.

NHL2K11 for the ipad/iphone is outstanding.Zeppo wrote:Ok gang, I need a little advice. Re: IPhone/ITouch Game App Thread
I doubt they will have a retina display. To have the same DPI, the resolution would have to be over 2000x1200.
FaceTime is a good idea on paper but most people do not always want to see the other most of the time. In fact, some of the popularity of texting may be due to people not wanting to have a drawn out conversation but rather send a quick message and move on. And holding up the camera with two hands? But since Skype is popular and they need a reason to get people to upgrade, they will probably have a camera.
I'd be more happy with a processor upgrade. Dual-core Cortex A9 SOCs will be used in smart phones and tablets in 2011 so Apple probably needs to keep up, although there's really nothing that requires fasters CPUs and GPUs. I don't think games like that Epic Citadel will become too popular on iPhones and iPads because as great as they look, it costs money to develop those kinds of games, meaning they will have to be priced at $10 or more on a platform where the most popular games are things like Angry Birds going for 99 cents.
You wonder if Madden for iPad sold well at $12-13.

C'mon guys, surely more than three people have lived with an ipad for a while now and have a few favorite apps? Fun stuff like games that are uniquely iPad? Cool stuff like star walker or what not? PDF readers aren't exactly the sexy kinds of things I'm looking for right now ....

You didn't say games, you said our top 5 apps.
There are plenty of internet resources for best iPad apps and games try looking there. I own maybe 4 or 5 games for my iPad, I don't use it as a gaming device.

Most used apps;
-Atomic web browser. Only $1 and adds some features and customizability to web browsing.
-Angry Birds HD. Awesome game.
-Harbor Master HD. Free game, love it.
I've got a ton of other apps on there, but those are the ones I fire up over and over. Use twitter, USA today...etc occasionally. I'll doublecheck to see if there's any apps I'm missing when I get home.
I've also heard that Out of the Park Baseball is planning an iPad version for spring release. I'd like to try that whenever it becomes available.
