Playing the victim? Hardly, and f*** you dude. I see you post a bunch of negative s*** about BB here and over at OS, and you want to cry about my calling out your twitter buddy Ian and Phil Frazier for being incompetent? I've bought Madden every year up until this year and have a right to complain about Madden being the worst of the next gen sports games, and for pointing out their sales numbers, for the 6th year in a row, are on the decline. If you don't like reading my opinions, you can always go back to Operation EA Sports or do like Dan said and put me on ignore. Thanks.

Nice meltdown. You should probably put me on ignore if what I say upsets you so much you need to fire off petty personal insults.

And look Tiburon and EA brought this upon themselves, when EA Canada is receiving the plaudits from NHL and FIFA and Tiburon gets harsher treatment, who's to blame here?

I was thinking about this same with in regards to Madden 11.

I remember when NHL and FIFA were so bad in basic gameplay it was hard to imagine EA pushing that garbage out as sim. But both of these titles had 3 year plans and within those 3-4 years, both of these titles have become the ultimate sim/fun games of their respective sports.

I am a big Madden fan, but I'm not going to lie that before M10, Madden still felt like it was somewhere in between those early NHL/FIFA games and the last NHL10/FIFA10. Madden needed a 3 year plan like NHL/FIFA did.

And with Madden 10, I really thought that was what they were doing. They revamped the whole franchise and I felt very optimistic that in 2-3 years we would get a Madden on par quality sim wise as the current NHL/FIFA games. But with Madden 11, I am not sure they are on a 3 year plan. Madden 11 isn't bad, but it's not the jump I was expecting from a 3 year plan. You could clearly see this jump from NHL08 to NHL09 but not from Madden 10 to 11. It is disappointing and doesn' t give me much confidence in Tiburon trying to copy what EA did with the NHL and FIFA series.

Also, I think that John Madden himself is the only guy probably keeping at least some of the Madden sim aspects alive. This is just based on gut feeling, but I sometimes wonder if EA can't wait for the guy to die so they can take the whole Madden franchise to the arcade crowd. With today's competition from smart phones and social media games and the rest, sim football videogames sort of aren't the big hit they were say 5 years ago. Not many of the new generation of gamers who are or will be the target market in the next 5-6 years want to sit thru 45 - 60 minutes to play a single game of madden, which is why they introduced gameflow to decrease the play time. But I have a feeling when the old man croaks, the day of Madden sim is going to be over. We'll probably get some kind of modern day NFL Blitz type game that will cater to the upcoming Generation Z or whatever they are going to call it. That's on the horizon and will probably be evident for all sports games. But EA has the name with Madden and a loyal fan base so it's probably easier for them to come up with a non-sim football game for Madden then their other sports titles. I think that is the way the industry is heading in the next 5-6 years.

Lancer, you're right about the 3 year plan. I saw Ian mention this was year 2 of 3 on twitter recently. Seeing as how they still need to add physics-based tackling, a blown out franchise mode, in-game saves, a halftime & postgame show, etc, they'd better be working some more overtime if they really do hope to hit it out of the park in year 3 (or year 7 on this generation of consoles, depending on how you look at things).

In most cases, bitching and moaning and not buying a product leads the maker to try and improve said product to get those customers back.

In Tiburon's case, though, it has led Ian and his bunch to add things like MUT and gameflow and DLC booster packs and paid scouting reports that (a) no one was asking for and/or (b) are meant to soak the loyal customers who have stayed on board for even more of their money. Their thinking goes against the grain, so I can see why someone would be confused here.

It's no longer about the game itself. It's about brand loyalty and a grudge from 5 years ago. Lame I know, but it is what it is.

I have already played more games of Madden 11 than I have the past 4 or 5 Madden's put together. I have a fun little season going with the Lions. The new roster definitely made a difference in the defense. Interested to see what the new patch does. Greatest game ever? No. But it's fun and I like playing it, so that's all that matters to me at this point.

That being said, imo, NCAA remains the superior game. I am really having a great time with that game despite being 5-5 in my North Carolina dynasty. Imo, this is the best Madden since Madden '05 (and I like it better than Madden '05) and the best NCAA since NCAA '04, which up until this year was easily my favorite NCAA game ever.

I usually don't play with them in NCAA for solo dynasties. The roster is loaded, they are an A+ in everything for recruiting, they are a 6 star program, so there's not much of a challenge long term in running with them. Plus it's nice to use other teams. I'll probably play a few seasons or dynasties with a few different teams this year. In Madden I rarely run with the Chargers either, hence the Lions franchise.

Soak the loyal customers for more of their money? Can you honestly say you don't have an agenda here?

I haven't bought Madden in a long time, but they have done much this year to improve the gameplay imho and deserved my $60. NCAA is superior, that is for sure.. but for me, it always has been.

I'm getting back to impressions, and will continue to read your BB impressions, but for anything Madden related I'm going to skip over your posts.

You are delusional.

You have no interest in Madden being better. The only "better" you would accept would be Madden being more like Backbreaker. The jury is in on Backbreaker. Most people didn't want Gears of Football for their pigskin fix.

What I don't get is why you spend so much time posting in a thread for a game that doesn't want you as a customer when you have the greatest football experience you've ever had available to you.

I played a ton of APFB 2K8, and even participated in several seasons with guys on the internet. It's clear to me that the majority of the football gaming public wanted something APFB didn't provide. But I didn't waste my time whining in Madden forums about it. I enjoyed the game that was available to me.

You are 10x delusional if you think getting in a flame war on DSP has some sort of impact on what kind of game EA is going to make next year. What you are really doing is trolling for attention in the Madden thread in an effort to draw attention to your super spiffy game that folks have repeatedly told they don't care for. Repeatedly.

EA is FULLY aware of what their sales are. The are pretty well aware of the impressions gamers had of Backbreaker, and what their sales are. The notion that you are doing some service to EA by trying to paint their sales as terrible is complete joke. The reality is, Madden sales are among the highest of all video game sales every year. And if there is a trend of lower sales, expect the crappy arcadey games we had before, not some super sim game.

But really, EA is printing money with Madden's success. You are whining about sales that might mean someone only gets one yacht this season instead of two.

All your trolling does is keep reasonable discussion about the shortcomings of the game from taking place.

Dude, you've got a grand total of 39 posts. I didn't even know you were on this board until this thread, but I bet you'd make a great EA Game Changer going by your posts. Just be glad you weren't around six years ago when I really gave the clowns at Tiburon a hard time. Or even last year, when I bought the game and called them out for having the ball rotating the wrong way (I understand that was fixed this year -- progress!!).

It bugs me seeing the same people talking s*** all the time about BB or it's sales numbers, and no one saying a word about it, but that's the kind've forum it is here. There's another place you can go if you only want to read positive things said about Tiburon football. Or, just put me on ignore. But I'm not going to pass up reporting on sales numbers just because you guys don't like what those numbers show. Sorry dude.

I occasionally check out Ian's twitter since I'm as interested as the next guy to know what's going on with the only NFL game in town. I didn't think it was stalking anyone (much like I never thought it was stalking when I saw you tell him over twitter that you were sending a gift basket to the entire Tiburon team during their crunch period last year, or when I see him responding to bkrich, millennium or any of the other OS mods most everyday of the week).

Edit: on second thought, I did think the gift basket was a little stalker-ish. But it's none of my business, really.

First of all, you need to do more the occasionally check someone twitter feed to have this kind of information. If you're subscribed to his twitter you get his tweets, to see what your saying you're looking at his twitter account, seeing his replies and then going to those people's twitter pages...yeah that's not stalking.

As for the rest of it I'll just say two things.

1. You're wrong
2. Thanks for proving my point.

You really need to get another hobby, I would think a "lawyer" would be too busy to devote this much time to trying to make a video game company look bad.

BTW what's your OS handle? It's clear you know how to circumvent Ip bans, so i wonder how many handles do you have here at DSP?

The ball rotation? LMFAO Thank God EA has you on the case!

That might be qoty material right there.

I'm not sure this thread is ever going to get back to impressions... once the NFL is underway, I'll get my franchise going with Bradford and the Rams and should have some impressions.

Todd, almost 3 weeks passed without hardly any impressions being posted. No offense, but is anyone really need of impressions a month outside release on a Tiburon football game? From what I read, a good number have traded it in already, will be doing so when NHL is released, or have shelved it until the patch hits. This thread only saw activity when the sales info was posted. I'd expect things will pick back up for impressions when the patch drops.

Having never received (let alone looked over) an application for the position, I'll certainly defer to those who are more qualified in that area. Sorry for spreading misinformation about the program.

The sad part is you still think it's about you having a differing opinion or news people don't like. Personally I could care less about the sales or what your opinion.

What bugs people is your complete bias. It's all about brand's and who makes the game. It has nothing to do with the games themselves and their quality or lack of quality. It's like the little kids and their console wars about which one is better. Read what you write, everything is about us vs. them, BB guys vs. Madden players. Your agenda is so transparent that's what gets people on your case. EA could make the greatest game known to man, and you would still continue this same crusade. And we all know what's driving it. The bitterness that comes from the exclusive agreement. Take a step back and read some of the stuff you have posted here, and tell me you don't have a big time agenda when it comes to EA football games.

I am not sure where you got the twitter thing. While I follow IAN for updates, he doesn't follow me nor has he ever replied to me, at least not that I have ever seen. I have sent him maybe three mentions, one was about indoor soccer, one was asking if they were ever going to fix injured reserve, and the other was asking if they were ever going to get the proper infrastructure in place for their online services. But don't let facts get in the way of your petty insults aimed at me, because you don't like my opinion.
