Head over to OS.

I'm not sure how guys are getting the roster save on the 360s. I think you need an accessary or something.

What does it tell you when on Madden day that I'm playing BB.

First off, I learned something tonight about the aggressive button. It's not a sprint button it's a modifier button that has to be used. There's no other way around it. For example, if you want to run inside, you need to shoulder barge and protect the ball. For whatever reason, it cuts down on the close-line tackles. On outside running plays, the stiff arm, is a nice little tool.

I think they could refine it more but what a game with a steep steep learning curve.

I've been playing just exhibition games on pro/hard/average with the same two teams. I've not had this much fun since WE/MVP days.

Yes there are quirks but when you pull off a play right and then string together some moves, it's rewards. There is no video game out there like it. It's satisfying and I don't know how many games you can say that about.

A couple of other things I'll say about this game..I can't remember the last time I was still regularly playing (daily if I can) a football game 3 months after its release. Relatedly, I can't say I ever had this much fun playing a football game (maybe any game) online before. The little experience I had playing 2k's football game online wasn't bad, but I didn't play it nearly as much as BB. In Madden's case, I stayed away from playing online due to the guys that would run around in the backfield with their QB all day, or do the nano-blitz stuff, or do nothing but play bombs away on offense because the running game sucked.

In BB's case, I had 80 some games in July and I'm 20-2 in August. The last game I played was a loss to some unknown dude who said going in, "Take it easy on me." He didn't have any money plays, he didn't cheat, he didn't have any glitches he could abuse, he just flat out beat me. I was up for most of the game but couldn't stop his offense when it mattered in the 4th. Most (not all) of the games I've played have been against guys who punt on 4th down (unless the circumstances of the game dictate otherwise), try to mix up the run and the pass and play action, kick field goals when within range, etc. Granted, I do run into some guys who don't play the "right" way or who quit as soon as they get down, but in the quitter's case, I really don't care because the non-quitter gets the win (even though the guy who quits does not get the loss) and I'd rather a guy give up if I'm beating him badly than finish out the game and have the final score be ridiculous.

Maybe it's because a lot of the kids stayed away from this game and go with the NFL game, but this game delivers such a great football experience online that hopefully sometime someone else around here will give it a go. There's at least 6 or 7 guys whose names I know from the leaderboards who will give me a good, competitive game everytime we play, and someone is almost always around (I've started some games on the weekend as late as 3:30 a.m. EST). The longest I ever have to wait to play is 5-10 minutes, so do know that going in. I'm usually on the couch surfing the net on my iphone while I wait for some one to join my match so the short wait doesn't bother me at all. And in a strange way it kind've feels like you're a spider waiting for something to come into the trap. Once someone does join your match, you both are within the game within 10 seconds or so I'd estimate (the loading times are extremely short) and the game begins. Great stuff.

this game seems cool, but not enough to warrant a purchase for me. Maybe if it drops to $20 or less I may get it. Just off the bat, it looks really complicated to play. Seems like you have to do a lot of stick jockeying to play. It does seem intense.

I wish I could record a lot of stuff I've seen in this game over the last 3 months. Even a simple 15 yard stretch run can be a beautiful thing to watch.

I got in 3 good to great games online last night. Well, the first one started off good, the other guy got off to a quick 7 point lead on me but then he just didn't have any answers for anything I was doing offensively or defensively and I beat him by 26 points (I didn't try to run up the score and give credit to him for hanging in until the end). The second game I won 21-10 (the game was closer than the score), but the third game was a classic, going back and forth with me ending up winning in the final minutes 17-10, after holding him off on his last drive. He was a really good player, mixing up his plays, and it felt like a real chess match throughout the game. Up to #8 on the PS3 leaderboards now at 23-2 for the month. What a blast.

I'm still loving the game -- hasn't left my PS3 since I got it. And I suspect there will be people playing online through the end of football season in January. So far, no glitch plays or anything to ruin the experience.

This game is truly great. The fun factor for me is through the roof. What a nice breath of fresh air.

I have NO idea if it gets all the X's & O's of the sport down to near perfection, but I do know that it feels great to play and makes me feel like I am in control of every play. It feels slightly arcadey without being over the top. It's like a modern day TecmoBowl.

The running game is a bit difficult for me at this point but the passing game is an absolutely joy. And I finally like to play defense! What a great feeling it is when I get a big hit or interception with my controlled played.

Can anyone provide any recommendations for the running game?

Also...is there really no one playing online?

I still get disoriented with the camera at times. I can't count how many times I intercepted the ball and just ran out of bounds cause I didn't know which endzone I was heading for.

Yup that's what I was thinking, was that Alan Page? I loved watching how none of the other players chased him. When he crossed the endzone they said thanks for the quick 6. :)

I guess it's not a coincidence why the Dolphin fans have never been deemed "the best & smartest in football" then huh? You're bringing us down!

Spooky, glad to hear you're enjoying the game. I'm heading to a meeting but will try to post later with some running game tips. In the meantime, I saw these codes posted by the devs over on the BB boards -- I played the Natural Motion team last night (my first ever offline game) and I only won 14-7 in what was a pretty good game. I still love playing online (got in a couple of games last night), but not sure what it's like on XBox Live (I'm on PS3).

Still no word, Rod. Todd, the main guy, has still been collecting feedback and making changes, but he said earlier this week that he still doesn't know himself. He also said he'd be sure to say as soon as he knows. If he just returned the running game to how it was pre-patch, I'd truly be in football gaming Heaven.

Game has oodles of potential.

In the end the camera, and poorly executed/implemented X's and O's, ruin it for me. Also I just never got a distinct feeling that I was playing with different types of players.

On the right track, but this game just doesn't hold my attention. I do look forward to their next attempt after they've had time to refine and build upon what they already have. As I said the potential is plain as day, but imo, just not ready for prime time, and just not that fun.. Yet.

bk, if you don't want to say I understand, but I'm curious how many hours you would estimate you put into BB, and whether you created any teams or played anybody online. Again, I completely understand the game's not for everybody, and in particular big Madden fans don't seem to like BB all that much, but it's the part of your comment about the "poorly executed/implemented x's and o's" that has me wondering.
