Leftwich still wants to be a starter and he still has a rifle arm, he has looked good in the 2 trips to training camp I've been to so far this year. Steelers will most likely have to get rid of either him or Charlie Batch when Ben comes back from his suspension.vinny-b wrote:wouldn't wish to be a Viking fan, at this time.
aside from Favre, i really put this on the Viking organization.
does the term contingency plan mean ANYTHING? Up front, the front-office they knew this may be a possiblity. Yet who is their QB? T. Jackson![]()
they had the chance to target a Colt McCoy in the 2nd/3rd Round. Even pick-up a Derrick Anderson, Brady Quinn, etc.
T Jackson? Difficult to believe 'professionals' are making these decisions

Yeah, and the Vikes offered him more money. He's playing them like a fiddle. I've got August 25th in the office pool.webdanzer wrote:"He's aware of this media frenzy right now. The media is definitely just as guilty of eating it up his crow as he is about basking in it. Potentially he could make an additional 7 million, hard to pass up on that.
Re: Number 4 is a pain in the a$$.
And he probably doesn't want to go through full training camp.
He reported late last year, made a few token appearances in the preseason and was ready to go by the regular season.

I love Minneapolis. I hate the fair-weather, bandwagon fans here. Everyone claims to be a Vikings fan, but they had countless games that were nearly blacked out before the network/companies bought up the tickets to avoid the blackout. People here are only fans of winners. Look at real sports fans like Cubs fans, Packers fans and Red Sox fans. They show up win or lose. Minnesotans will only support a winner (with the exception of the Wild) I have nothing against these people, I just don't think they are true fans. I swore off having a "team" after 98 when the Vikings blew a chance to go to the SB. I was 16 years old then and I decided that no sports team is worth getting angry or depressed over. Now I just watch sports and enjoy them.wco81 wrote:You hate Minneapolis yet you're still there ...

Let's put $500 up on how the Vikes will do. I have them at 8-8 and missing the playoffs. I see you are local? Wanna make the season interesting? Without Favre this team will finish in 3rd in their division. The Lions could actually beat them if Stafford to Johnson is as potent of a threat as I anticipate once both are 100% healthy.

I love how a guy that "doesn't have a team" is going to talk s*** about what the fans of the Vikings "deserve" and make fun of the entire city. We don't need to bet on anything without Favre, because I would still say odds are at about 90% that he plays this year. If he doesn't, they aren't going to win the Super Bowl. If he does, odds are they don't, but they'll have as good a chance as anyone else in the NFC.fletcher21 wrote:I'm the zig zag man. You live here man, you've seen it. People don't support the team unless they win. Real fans show up win or lose. That's my biggest gripe. How many damn Vikings car flags have you seen the last few years when they were on a roll? I am tough love like the Common Man. As for your saying with Favre that they are as good as any team in the Nfc? You've got to be kidding me!

I see an 8-8 season. Tell me which of these picks are wrong? They literally could lose 5 weeks in a row from week 5-9. Hell of a schedule! If Favre is not on the team, I see AP doing 1 of 2 things. Setting the Nfl record for fumbles or having a season ending injury from having to be the entire team.

LoL. I am going to go out on a huge limb here and say that Braylon Edwards will have a great year. He's in a contract year, and has been disappointing at best for most of his career (minus his breakout year in CLE) Holmes is also in a contract year. Add to that how your boy Shonn Greene is coming on quick, and the Jets are not that team to f#ck with this year. I think the Jets will have a nice season. Hopefully the coach survives.. He looked like he was one buffet meal away from a triple bypass the last time I saw him.

I am excited about this year. I am not playing fantasy football for the first time in 5 years. This will give me a chance to enjoy the game, and not have to watch my players and do the online trash talk thing. Should be a good season! I have a funny feeling it will be the Packers vs Cowboys in the Nfc championship game. Just a hunch. Romo will be dropping bombs like Vietnam this year and will silence his critics.
Re: Number 4 is a pain in the a$$.
hopefully you right, on Braylon Edwards. He's the largest talent the Jets have had at the position since Al Toon. The early reports are, he have looked phenomenal in camp. The other player turning heads early is Cromartie. Mr. Universe (aka John Clayton) was talkin him up hard, yesterdayfletcher21 wrote:LoL. am with you on Tony Romo. Hope you enjoy the season, Fletch
