Re: MLB Season 2010
I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this offseason and how they dismantle this piece-of-s***, no-heart, awfully constructed team called New York Mets.
It's gonna be U-G-L-Y.

I'm not sure the Wilpons are sharp enough to do what has to be done.

All the more reason to get his ass kicked behind the plate for the next few years so he's broken down by that time.lexbur wrote:Time to put that guy at first or DH. We can't have our top prospect getting beat up behind the plate like this. We need him to be in good shape and at the top of his game when we ship him off to the Yankees in a couple years.

Re: MLB Season 2010
B. Morrow flirted with a no hitter in a masterful performance sweeping the Rays in TO. This is sweet as the Jays just came on top of their series with the Yankees early in the week, despite A-Rod hitting finally his 600 HR. The starting pitching has been solid this year, guys have been bombing the ball led by J. Bautista, just need the bullpen to be more consistent.

This is funny, the kid in Houston who ducked at the last second and his girlfriend got hit with the foul ball.

Re: MLB Season 2010
The Braves are f.u.c.k.e.d. if Chipper is out any extended amount of time (hell of a play when he got injured btw...wow). They simply don't have the offense to cover up when he's not in the middle of the order with his .380 OBP. He may not be hitting and driving in runs like he used to, but he's still the presence they need there. This lead over Philly (who apparently is equipped to be without their best players) is small and getting smaller. Hopefully the pitching staff can hold up...and that Troy Glaus can get going again...he's showing signs up overall it's not looking good.

Seems like the Reds - Cardinals are heating up to quite a rivalry.

Yep...and it sure is sweet seeing the Cards on the verge of a sweep.MizzouRah wrote:Seems like the Reds - Cardinals are heating up to quite a rivalry.

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe Phillips calls everyone a b*tch and then wants to tap Molina like they are buddies.GTHobbes wrote:Yep...and it sure is sweet seeing the Cards on the verge of a sweep.MizzouRah wrote:Seems like the Reds - Cardinals are heating up to quite a rivalry.

Chipper, torn ACL, out for the year. F*CK. Gonna be rough going without him.
Re: MLB Season 2010
I looked at the Bravos' box score the other day and couldn't believe they're in first with the batting averages they've got. The Chipper news is probably it for them, I would think.dbdynsty25 wrote:Chipper, torn ACL, out for the year. F*CK. Gonna be rough going without him.

Re: MLB Season 2010
Their pitching staff has been FANTASTIC. And it's not about the batting averages really...it's about their OBP. They are first in the league in walks, so they get guys on base and then get them in. That's how they are winning. Chipper hasn't hit very well up until the last month, but his OBP is around .385, so he was having productive at bats. Gonna be tough going the rest of the way...at least Infante (hitting .325ish) is a capable fill in (actually Prado will probably move to 3rd when he comes off the DL next week and Infante stays at 2nd) so they might be ok as long as the pitching holds up. Time will tell, but this definitely HURTS BAD.GTHobbes wrote:I looked at the Bravos' box score the other day and couldn't believe they're in first with the batting averages they've got. HOUSTON -- New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb while allegedly striking the grandfather of his children last week at Citi Field, a team official said.
How'd you like to be that team official, forced to deliver THAT statement.

Re: MLB Season 2010
Hopefully...Troy Glaus has fallen off the face of the earth. Need to put that old dog down.
Re: MLB Season 2010
Wow K-Rod's life and career are unraveling before him. The Mets are now looking to get out of the contract and only pay him the bare minimum this year then part ways with him in the offseason. The dude maybe talented but damn is he stupid. I bet the Yankees come calling if he gets released.

Can't believe there's not more of a buzz in here about the Tribe/Royals series this week.

Derrick Lee a Brave. Nice. Three low pitching prospects from a minor league system with a ton of HIGH prospects is a good price to pay for sure. I'm stoked.

Seriously, he's a solid pro and a decent guy. OTOH, few players in baseball have success more tied to their gb/fb rate.

Re: MLB Season 2010
Guess who is tied with Lee for GIDPs? Yup...Troy Glaus. Troy has done it like 7 or 8 times with the bases loaded. And Lee is a MASSIVE upgrade defensively. So I don't see the downside. Troy had a ridiculous month and a half where he hit around .330 and in the rest of the season...195. Awesome.
Re: MLB Season 2010
Jays take the rubber match againstthe Yankees as B. Cecil pitched a gem. In fact we have a winning record this year vs NY and if the damn bullpen could hold off those key runs in the 8th and 9th innings, this team would be right in the mix along BOS and TPA.
Tough way to lose a series vs COL, if you're a Braves fan. What a comeback.

Happening a lot to really young pitchers for some reason. Medlen of the Braves went down a month or so ago with the same issue. Wonder why it's happening to the young kids so much now.greggsand wrote:The Strasburg news sucks. Really feel bad for him.
