really having fun with the demo, fellas.

NFL 2k5 was the last football title i liked. Never been a fan of past EA football titles.

however, this demo doesn't play like EA football. The animations & player motions are realistic/fluid. The running game has legitimate momentum and is fun. The passing game looks well represented

the commentary is perfect. And the ESPN presentation is tight 8)

Played a nail biter of a game last night between the Jayhawks and the Cyclones. I won on a last seond field goal by a score of 19-17. ISU had less than a minute to try and get down the field. On the ensuing kick off, they were called for clipping. No comeback A.I. in effect! They had to start from their own 10 yard line. They tried a couple of futile deep throws and that was the ball game. Great game, and even more impressive was the chess match going up against the ISU QB, Arnaud. That guy is really deceptive with faking the ball to the RB and passing the ball out.

Great game, and I'm back in the camp favoring this over the Madden demo.

Have any of you adjusted any sliders?

I've adjusted the sliders on All American the main ones being QB Accuracy and Pass Coverage.

I have both Pass Cov. at 40

I have CPU QB at 30 and Human at 35.

I bumped up CPU RB Ability to 55
I bumped CPU Run Blocking to 55

I put tackling on 60 for both .

Finally I adjusted the CPU FG Accuracy to 60 (missing too many FG's for my liking still tinkering with this)

As fars as penalities everything is at 100, except for Facemask, False Start, Clipping and Holding all of which are at 55.

I'm 8-1 in my first season of offline dynasty playing on All American with 7 minute quarters and have had all really good games with the default settings. Haven't been getting many sacks, maybe 2 or 3 a game and had a play against Connecticut last night where I had a defensive lineman finally get a clear shot to blast the QB up the middle but he faked me out as I thought he handed the ball off so I turned away to avoid a late hit penalty but he kept it and threw it deep for a huge gain.

Those look pretty good Danimal. I might go with those this evening and see how it plays out. It looks like you made subtle changes which seems realistic. I tried a couple different ones over at OS, but they were just so from one end of the spectrum, I wondered if they were changing them just for the sake of changing.

I reverted back to default All-American, except of course for penalties. But, I agree something needs to be revised with regards to QB accuracy and CPU running ability. I agree with tackling at 60 because too many times on default last night, I was missing the first tackle. It wouldn't be so bad if the QB wasn't barrelling over my linebacker more than a couple times.

Just be prepared the QB Accuracy can be jarring at first, especially if you play with a bad QB. But I really like it, I missed a wide open receiover last night who got behind coverage. He had 5 yards on his guy and I over threw him by about 6 yards.

I also missed a crossing route by throwing wide and I sailed and out route into the bench. :)

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Both QB's were a bit too accurate when I played last night.

Question. Say you have a receiver open with a defender about 5-10 yards in front of him. Everytime I try and throw the ball, it either gets intercepted (rarely) or swatted (most often). Is a completion possible in this scenario? I always get too excited and pressed the button forcefully. I'm wondering if I simply just tap it, will it sail over the defender's head and in to my receiver's hands?

Slightly longer than a tap, much less than a full button hold, and a slight up on the stick to lead the receiver.

You can heave some gorgeous rainbows that come almost straight down on your man. They're tough to get the right distance and position on, but when you do, they're beautiful.

Thanks Terry. I had no idea that you had to push up slightly on stick analog stick. That's good info to know. It would seem though with the way the defense can fly to the ball, that the success of this pass would be lower than say a slant route.

The whole analog stick thing was implemented a few years ago to lead receivers or throw behind them a little bit based on the position of the defender. It wasn't until this year that it actually f'n worked. There are still some issues with the super linebackers and dbs, but it's certainly not as bad as before and some of the throws that you can make now are simply beautiful as Terry stated...it's by far the best passing system they've had.

I'm way more annoyed with the fact that if you are watching a replay the quality of the players goes in and out way more often than it used to. Like you'll see visors and other details turn on and off. I'm sure it's just because of the bump in graphic detail overall that causes it so that the game doesn't stutter but it's still way more noticeable this year.

have a copy of NCAA 11, on the way. It will be the first football title have purchased, dating back to 2k5. To me, this title plays like the NCAA title we were anticipating from Visual Concepts, yet never received.

based on the demo, the only dissapointing element to this point is the camera angle. I wish it was zoomed in a bit. In particular on running plays, where it is not necessary to view the entire field. Can anyone tell me if there are camera options, other then the one in the demo? And/or at the very least, if you set it up to play CPU vs CPU, is there a different camera option?

thanks, fellas

I have an older 360 and I had significant framerate issues after snapping the ball until I loaded it on my hard drive. Even then I get framerate drops, but they are outside of the gameplay during cutscenes so I can live with it.

I'm having a ton of fun with this game. I play at least one "random" single-player offline game a day which says a lot given my lack of free time.

Well I made it to the last game of my offline franchise with a record of 10-1 ranked # 3 and faced Cincinnati and laid an egg, every time I got in the red zone I got stuffed settling for 4 field goal attempts making 3 of them. Scored a late td and recovered an onside kick but that was it as I still lost by 2 scores. Had so many dropped passes from my receivers that I was yelling at the screen calling them assclowns for not making catches that were right in their hands.

Ending up dropping to # 10 and will face # 5 Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

Gave this game another try...

In one game, I saw the drop back bug, the can't pick up the ball bug, some weird things where CPU players didn't move but got stuck in animations and a scoring error.

Funny I didn't see any of those in past franchise season. This was just a random exhibition game.

Played my first game on AS defaults, 8 min quarters, letting the CPU do the recruiting to save time.

Beat Illinois 28-9 was a close game, 14-6 at half and a defensive struggle. I'm still holding the RT to speed up.. lol

In all, it was a fun to game and I'm wanting more, which is a good thing. :)

I am 6-2 in my Michigan dynasty. Both times I played a Top 25 team, both times I have been routed. Iowa and Penn St. both took me behind the woodshed.

Tate Forcier has been out most of the season so my offense is pretty one dimensional with Denard Robinson starting at QB.

Having so much fun with this game, I doubt I purchase Madden.
