I keep getting connection failed message.
The only connection error messages I get is the one that says the stats won't count towards your school, been getting that since the first week the game was out, haven't had any trouble with the servers otherwise.
Ive been trying for about an hour and all I get is this message.

"The connection failed!"
"The EA servers are not available at this time. Please try again later."

Live works fine. Everything online works fine.

Anyone know a fix or any tricks to beat the EA server joke?

EDIT: Ive been searching for help online but all I find are more people dealing with the same bullshit.

I really want to get my online dynasty game in. EA always reminds me of what they are.

With FIFA you sometimes had to do the old "Disconnect from XBL, reset the clock to 11/5/2005 or something like that, and then reconnect to XBL" trick to get the EA servers to let you sign back in.

Sounds crazy, yes I know, but it seemed to work in FIFA.

As to the bugs, I haven't played very many games at all but I've had the play-action sticking thing twice for myself and at least once happen to the CPU. In all cases, the ball has been thrown eventually, though, so no safeties, but I think once I caught it for a 2 yard loss while the others were incompletions which could easily have been disastrous interceptions. I've yet to see the fumble-you-can't-recover bug, but I imagine it will show up eventually.

And reading Abner's stuff about the dynasty FUBARness is just crest-falling. I'm not even a dynasty guy, really, but the problems seem to be so bad and so central to the core of the experience, it's hard for me to imagine how anyone can deal with it an be happy.

I was going to trade this one in for Madden but now with the negative Madden buzz I'm not too sure that I will. The game keeps growing on me, i am seeing new things from time to time.

Biggest gripe for me right now is ONLINE DYNASTY being down. I played a game of OD tonight, then tried to play another game, but it can't get to the next game because the transfer failed. So since they seem to be down for the last hour, I have to do 'retry now' and sit thru it all just to get another OD is not available.

Other than that this is a pleasant surprise.

Still having a good time, but had a troubling game tonight against Air Force. 3 times I "intercepted" option pitches. That's not right at all. Option offenses are always an adventure in these games.

Nice...More pressure :P ... Im already starting to fold as evidenced by the unconvincing 7 point win vs UConn.

Now I might actually have to do that recruiting stuff. :)

Other than the EA server issues and the 3-4 times a game stutter thing I am really liking this game. The stutter can be annoying as it seems to come at the worst possible times but its rare enough that it doesnt ruin the game. Maybe it can be patched out?

Had a great game with Terry after my online dynasty game last night. Went to OT with my Michigan vs his Cal. Great back and forth action. It was fun trying to run the option out of the spread and watching him splatter my players all over the field. Im very proud to say I got my first ever win against him in any game of any kind. I was helped a bit by a lb with super human hops. Now I can retire from video gaming happy.

Any one know where I may be able to find a more comprehensive manual for this game. As always, the one they supply is pretty pathetic and I am struggling with audibles, pre-snap adjustments, etc.

Any help is much appreciated.

Click the R-stick and there will be lots of pop up info for all that pre-snap stuff that should clear it up.

Had an awesome game against Clemson last night, in my offline franchise. Played like crap the first half, and wound up down 17-7 at the half. Third quarter was a yawner. Fourth quarter, I kick a field goal with 3 minutes left to play. Clemson gets the ball, I stuff 'em on three downs. They punt, putting me inside the 10 yard line with about 1:57 left in the game. 3rd and long, because of two sacks, and it's make or break time. Send a WR on a deep out, pump fake, let it loose, and my WR drags his feet right over the 1st down marker, barely giving me new downs. They even did replay on it.

Broke a big run down to the 4 yard line-25 seconds left. PA pass to my TE in the flats, and he's hit at the one, but he's a big guy, and my line gets behind him, pushing him into the end zone with 12 ticks left. Game over. 20-17. #1 on ESPN Classic games.

Lots, lots of fun....

I had a few frustrations myself last night towards the end of my first dynasty season. 2 games in a row my defense completely stifled the opposition for 3.5 quarters, then the cpu flipped a switch and became an unstoppable offensive juggernaut.

What had me ready to throw my controller though was after the cpu got within 7 points with a 50 yard FG, all I needed was one first down to run out the clock. On third down my qb scrambles, has first down yardage, so I decide to play it safe and slide before contact. Instead, he dives headfirst and fumbles! Of course 4 plays later, the cpu ties the game with a 40 yard td pass on 4th and 14, then I lose in 4OT. :x

I have noticed my offense getting a lot better once i set up my audibles, though i don't see how to set audibles 'within the formation' using the right stick. Can you set that?

Also it is definitely too easy to drop a punt instead the 10 in this game. I can do it basically every time, and the cpu's not bad at it either.

Hey, Dan, sorry about all the restarts tonight. Had one helluva time trying to actually finish a game without a lockup. Finally did, but was so damned frustrated that it really wasn't enjoyable. Oh well, I won, and there's always next week...although it's Clemson and I think I'm gonna get my ass beat... :D

This game has alot of things going on. One game you are on top of the world the next you dont feel like you will ever win again.

Played my online dynasty game last night with Michigan at Notre Dame and man did I get pasted to the tune of 41-6. I think he got his first 28 points off of a total of 15 yds as we went into the half at 28-0 . Then in the second half his running game just ground me up into little pieces. The game wasnt nearly as close as the score 8)

The interesting stuff was the qb and how he saw the field. Playing at ND, I started the game with the squiggly lines but as I made more and more mistakes and the pressure got greater the icons above my receivers heads turned to question marks. It was sort of a funny nightmare road trip. At the time it was pretty frustrating but as I thought about it after the game I liked how it worked.
Also, the longer my qb holds the ball, the icons that I can see, start fading.
As far as qb accuracy. I was throwing the ball all over the place. Two of the four? pics I tossed reminded me of Neil Odonnell? throwing to Larry Brown in the SB. Also had plenty of over throws as at one point I had one uncovered receiver for an easy TD an over threw him by a good 10 yds.

The running game is very cool in the way patience is rewarded. I have none yet and unfortunately for me, ND has/had plenty.

Anyway, Sounds nuts after that whooping, but I really like what I have seen so far. Even if it might be a bit over the top it is definately head in a good direction.

Good game Todd. Thanks for the beating sir.

That's a pretty good description of what I have seen in the game, XXXIV. What difficulty are you playing on? I've dialed back from Heisman, because I was getting blasted, too. But even so, it still felt like the game did a really good job of representing the nightmare of a road game gone wrong.

I've dropped to All-American, but have used SN's sliders I saw OS. I'm still getting beat by better teams, but also beating teams I should. Last game I got down 14-0 early. But I made a good comeback, scoring a second touchdown to tie the game. Well, it would have tied the game, but my kicker missed the XP. In fact, he also missed two easy FG's. I think I am going to have to move the FG sliders back up, as SN's sliders have them pretty brutally low.

But anyway, after missing the XP and being down 14-13, it seemed to really pump up the other team, and I ended up losing 28-13. But it really felt like the missed XP was the turning point, which felt about right. I really don't mind losing games like that.
