NCAA Football 11

I'm personally very grateful for your site ownership/moderating style, Jared. I've been overly critical of most of Tiburon's past efforts, and I've also been overly defensive of 2k's football games and Backbreaker, which rubs some the wrong way. I'm trying to do less of both, but I very much appreciate being able to voice a dissenting opinion here.Jared wrote:This is a relatively open forum where all opinions are welcome. If you disagree with someone, feel free to disagree with them. Maybe you're right, maybe their opinion is the most stupid thing ever. Maybe you're completely off-base. Then discuss it (like adults).
But the last thing that most people reading want is to hear a bunch of grown men sound like little bitches about not wanting to hear other people's opinions. Who cares? I'm not going to ban people for being too positive/too negative. So just deal with it, or move on to some homogenized forum where all dissenting opinions are banned, and you can only hear voices that say they love/hate the game of your choice.
I'm just glad so many of us have SOMETHING that we can play that makes us happy. I don't care if it's NCAA, BB, or 2K5 with a roster update. That's what this site is for.
As for NCAA, I found out when testing an Online Dynasty last night that any video you save in-game automatically gets encoded and uploaded to the game page.
Cal vs. Fresno State OD Recap Page
If you can see the last video, Rouse made me look stupid for a lot of the game, but Derek Carr (David's little brother) loved to take sacks and throw picks, so the score got out of hand. I must suck at defending the run, because he pulled off little shimmies like that most of the game.
Also, the other video shows my SS getting burned like cheap BBQ on a play action (along with the rest of my secondary). The SS in particular got spun around so bad he damn near fell over twice, leading to a completely open receiver that he was actually supposed to cover. Thought it was pretty cool to see.

Yes. That's for the "School Challenge" or whatever they call it. You'll notice you're not getting the "Skills +15" or any of that crap, or the score tally at the end of the game. It doesn't affect your saves, games, or Online Dynasty stuff--just that silly School vs. School challenge that it tracks automatically. I got that all day yesterday as well.Teal wrote:Anyone else getting the message 'upload failed. Your game will not count towards your school' or something like that? Every time I start a game, I get that message-what the hell does that mean?
Amen! And thanks for posting the link with the videos -- I really like that broadcast cam from the replay and would love to see it available as a playable camera angle someday.TCrouch wrote:I'm just glad so many of us have SOMETHING that we can play that makes us happy. Has anybody else had a problem connecting to EA's servers? Every time my game starts (which has admittedly on been 3 times) I get a message saying that EA's servers are not available. I then try to connect to Xbox Live so I can input my code and I get the same message.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Hey, I've played 'em all...except last year's, because I was so tired of the same ol' thing. This ain't the same ol' thing...MizzouRah wrote:C'mon Teal, it's been out for two days now.Teal wrote:Best playing game of college football by EA since the new consoles arrived. Period.![]()
I'll see if I give it more playing time than I did NCAA 09.

Can anyone recommend any good sites that talk both offense and defensive strategy? I have the basic foundation, but have no idea about a press, 4-3 over, 4-3 under, etc. mean. Nor can I recognize a zone or man coverage on the offense side of the ball. I think I'd find more enjoyment with the strategy if I understood the chess match.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It's a site dedicated to 2K football, but the guy that runs it, Valderaz has loaded a lot of interesting football information into the site. If you look at their forums, they have subforums dedicated to offensive and defensive strategies that actually apply just fine to EA's games.
They may end up working a little differently, but you will learn a lot about how they are supposed to work.

Seeing such amazing stuff in this game.
<link deleted>
Any video you record gets automatically uploaded. In video #2, the Middle Linebacker bites so hard on the PA that I could drive a truck through the soft spot in the zone behind him.
The downfield blocking by the TE in vid #3 is what's been missing from the EA running game for years.
And blown coverages like vid #4 seem to happen with more frequency (both for me and against me) that turn games into interesting affairs.
I'm curious to see what happens when I get to the tough part of the schedule, against teams like USC.

Be curious how 1080i looks to you. Mine doesn't look that great. I wonder if I messed up my settings somewhere.sportdan30 wrote:I'll definitely play this up to the release of Madden. I don't know if this game has that "fun" factor for me to play more than a month, but we'll see.
I noticed that PS3 users can play this game in 1080p. It's stunning...ooops, I shouldn't have said that.
