You can even set it to private so others can't see that you just crushed FCS East 72-0.

I played Michigan the first game of my Connecticut franchise and their QB went 19-32 with 3 picks.JRod wrote:In my game it was who the first two teams of the season are that ND faces. So it's Purdue then Michigan I believe. In both those games the CPU only missed 3-4 passes. It wasn't the old robo-Qb but it was more than just having a good game. So I've lowered them because, you aren't going to see pro numbers in college.
I just played Idaho and their guy went 20-32 with 0 picks, of course the whole 4th quarter I had in the second string D and that's where he got his yards.
Not saying I don't believe you but I have a dozen games under my belt and have yet to see anyone go 23-27 say. Maybe ND has a bad secondary?

After seeing all 5-6 pages devoted to the launch, I am quite happy I picked this up earlier today. . .
Games are suppose to be fun - when they aren't I quit playing. Picking out flaws just ruins the games for others since most people won't notice most issues. I usually avoid the post launch amateur beta tester threads as they do no good and usually point out things I would not care about or notice.Teal wrote:No, JRod, I haven't found the perfect game. But whatever; it's the MO, so by now I shouldn't be surprised...or annoyed, really. Do your thing.
Likewise, it does no good - there will be new bugs next year even if they fix the ones someone picks out.

The "OFFICIAL NCAA 11 GLITCHES AND BUGS" thread over at OS irritates me. I've never looked in it, and I have no desire to, but really? Every year? Have we taken gaming, as mostly grown men, to this level? I know that EA will probably read that and try to fix some of it, but who wants to be 'that' guy, who spends more time looking for what's wrong with a game, than he does playing it for what it does right?bdunn13 wrote:Games are suppose to be fun - when they aren't I quit playing. I don't know, could be the ND defense. I'm doing an Air Force dynasty to see how that plays.Danimal wrote:I played Michigan the first game of my Connecticut franchise and their QB went 19-32 with 3 picks.JRod wrote:In my game it was who the first two teams of the season are that ND faces. Of course games are supposed to be fun. But fun has such a different meaning for so many people and there are various degrees of what each user will tolerate/enjoy/dislike in a game. I bought PES for iPhone for $6.99 and it's a blast...on a phone. Package the same game and throw it on the PS3, sell it for $59.99, and I'd feel like someone stole my money and I'd be b*tching about the AI and controls here.bdunn13 wrote:Games are suppose to be fun - when they aren't I quit playing. I've always taken the stance that the main reason I come here is to read people's likes *and* dislikes on games. I'm seasoned and smart enough to "filter" through people's biases. I value the honest opinions. Tell it like it is. If I don't know much about a game and want some input on a potential purchase there are some user comments that I will take with a huge grain of salt because they like everything. There are others that don't like anything or at least any football game made by EA. There are many in between. I think the only time I've let someone else ruin a game I was enjoying was when I accidentally found out about the "giveaway" glitch in Madden 05. But for every one of those instances there have been the opposite experiences where I've saved money like when EA released that PSP game that couldn't even get the downs right...LOL.
Have we become that PC that we can't criticize anything constructively while still enjoying it? I long for the good old days when you could think that a song rocks while also desiring a little more cowbell.
Games are suppose to be fun - when they aren't I'd like to avoid purchasing them. Posting flaws along with strengths helps others with their purchasing decisions, since in many cases people don't notice issues until after they have spent their money. I like to read threads where the good and bad points in new games are pointed out as they do a lot of good in helping me make informed purchasing decisions by highlighting issues I could very well care about and notice.bdunn13 wrote: Games are suppose to be fun - when they aren't I quit playing. I would bet that these sorts of threads arose because folks started complaining about people posting negative observations about a game they liked. At least in these cases where the complaints are split out, the information is out there. You can choose to read or not as you desire.Teal wrote:

These are really intriguing comments that have piqued my interest some. I've long avoided football titles because I think they are easily the most unlike their source of all the major sports as far as what game activities are rewarded with success.Danimal wrote:My only comment is this game is going to be a love fest for the guys who like football and a hate fest for the tourney crowd.
....
It's going to even the playing field and the guys who "gamed" the game aren't going to be successful and have to learn how to actually coach a team.
Those threads arose, because a select few people would post the same complaint about a game in thread after thread after thread, not to mention starting new threads posting the same complaint.webdanzer wrote:I would bet that these sorts of threads arose because folks started complaining about people posting negative observations about a game they liked. Also, the Devs now have one place to look for glitches and bugs in order to attempt to rectify them. So that thread (I stay out of it myself), does serve two purposes. One to avoid clutter and two a single spot for devs to look at issues.

And so they could be easily avoided since they do nothing but ruin the game for many. I believe it was once called The Abner Effect.
And just to note: I have not played the game this year, and no I don't play demos either. But it is my favorite series that is why I am in this thread.

I said this before, but this is the most fun I have had with an NCAA game since NCAA 04.bdunn13 wrote:"Those threads arose, because a select few people would post the same complaint about a game in thread after thread after thread, not to mention starting new threads posting the same complaint. "

Sounds good, Brad. Lemme know if you need any help getting acclimated...bdunn13 wrote:When I was a mod at OS many moons ago - I even avoided that thread...
Its not like I make games for a living... oh wait, I do..![]()
I close on my new house around Aug 12 - after that things will slow down and we can grab lunch or something.

I've been absent because my work is in the process of moving locations and I am a key part to the move. I have been working a lot of hours this week and will be working a lot more next week when we actually move. I say that only because I want to make sure that people kindly take any talk that is not related to the actual game itself to the pm's. Whether you want to rant or rave about the game is fine but please don't bicker back and forth about it in this thread.
Now that, that is out of the way I will post that no matter how busy I am with work there's no way I wasn't going to pick this one up based upon the demo. I only played one game but damn it was fun. Count me in the "Team EAdward" camp.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Long day of work and children, completely away from the forum.
To reiterate what Scoop said: People are totally free to post their opinions on the game here. They can be positive opinions, they can be negative opinions. They can be positive opinions from generally positive people on games, they can be negative opinions from generally negative people on games. Really - for everyone who doesn't like hearing negativity from JRod may not like hearing positive comments from people that are always positive about EA games.
This is a relatively open forum where all opinions are welcome. If you disagree with someone, feel free to disagree with them. Maybe you're right, maybe their opinion is the most stupid thing ever. Maybe you're completely off-base. Then discuss it (like adults).
But the last thing that most people reading want is to hear a bunch of grown men sound like little bitches about not wanting to hear other people's opinions. Who cares? I'm not going to ban people for being too positive/too negative. So just deal with it, or move on to some homogenized forum where all dissenting opinions are banned, and you can only hear voices that say they love/hate the game of your choice.

For those wondering about team playbooks it definitely seems improved from recent years. I don't want to say too much because I have little time with the game and I pretty much suck, but I just played an Army-Navy game and Army had 3 formations; Flexbone (with about 15 variations), goal line and hail mary. No pro set or shotgun or anything like that. Also, Navy certainly ran the ball a lot, but it's hard to say if the proportion was spot on after such a short observation period.
Running felt very good, but I am concerned about the triple option. It may be because Army is terrible, but running the triple option I couldn't get the QB out from under center all game. The defensive line would break through so quickly every time I had to either hand off to the fullback or pitch immediately while being hit.
I also kept getting beat on bombs over the head of the d-backs. Anyone else having problems with that?

I think the newness factor is wearing off now for me. I went ahead and did some dynasty and well.......
Someone posted before about the game feeling the same, which I think they were talking more about the experience. I am getting that same NCAA experience feeling now in dynasty mode.
I do like all the new gameplay features like locomotion and some of the different play styles, but it's sort of feeling for me like the other NCAA games.
I'll hang onto it to fill my football need but I'll probably end up trading it in for Madden 11.

This has been a problem with the option for some time. The tackles sometimes take a step back into the running lane of the qb. There's a reason why some teams run the option. Anyway, it makes playing Air Force very difficult.Naples39 wrote:For those wondering about team playbooks it definitely seems improved from recent years.
