ESPN Baseball download

Post by Brando70 »

Hey guys,

In case you didn't know, there is a download available for ESPN Baseball. I think you have to sign into XBL to get it. I wasn't sure what it does, but heard it fixes the infield hits being scored as errors (when a player dives but can't get the throw to first in time). I don't know this for certain, but last night had a couple of diving plays like this, and they were correctly scored as hits.

Thanks for the heads up Brando. Gonna have to check this out. I was involved in being no hit the other night when my pitcher (Woody Williams) hit a ball between third and short. The SS dove for the ball, made a nice play from his knees and threw on to first. The first baseman didn't get pulled off the bag, but it was ruled an error. It was rather disheartening. So, if this does fix this particular issue, that'll be great.

I think it does fix that scoring problem. I forgot about the automatic update and didn't put two and two together, but I noticed last night that the scoring was much better on infield hits.

That's funny, because last night was the first time I didn't check for an update. Figures there was one!

After further review I am not seeing better scoring.

It really doesn't bother me though because I absolutely love the game. I didn't say it was perfect, but it is very addictive and I truly get the feeling that every at bat and game is unique.

I hope I don't forget about this one when it is time for the "Game of the Year" polls! Of course, if I do that means the fall lineup was strong.

Have they released a roster update? If they have those then I will definitely have to look at selling a couple games and picking this up.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave,

I don't think they have released a roster update, however, I doubt I would use it anyway because I downloaded a user-updated file from OS that is more than adequate.

Leebo:

It's WAY early, but right now ESPN Baseball and TOCA 2 are neck and neck in my mental Sports Game of the Year poll.

I have big hopes for the upcoming ESPN NFL and IndyCar Series 2005, too.

Take care,
PK

Hmmm, this is weird - it still shows "no downloadable content available at this time" for me. Did they pull it?

And to think, you weren't even going to buy ESPN Baseball.

Blub,

It is an automatic update when you sign on to XBL.
