Do you not read before you post? If you pre-ordered, you get a free course. It was only one page back...

Thanks DB, I was entering in the code section in-game.

What's the quickest way to get points because I want to play on the tour not do the stupid challenges?

Anyway, so sick of EA's design and having my golfer hit it 240 out of the gate. They should at least bump it up to 260-280 and have lower tours. I don't care if they have a tour underneath the Nationwide.

I can also see how Tiger's features is simply lagging behind. The challenges is the same system since the next-gen version and old-gen. The tour mode is really nothing special.

The sad part is they have a good feel to the golf as many have mentioned the swing is tuned pretty well that allow for wayward shots or even long putts. The problem is there's very little new in terms of game play modes. Okay there's the Ryder cup, though I don't know if the Ryder Cup is built into the tour mode.

I've been saying how they just repackage the modes every year and it's basically the same this year. Which I think are getting stale (modes not talking about gameplay).

JRod have you tried the Wii version? The controls make for a totally different experience.

Hmmm I count 17 courses unlocked on the 360 version, not bad. Graphics are OK, thought Tiger 08 looked a little better but TW 11 plays pretty sweet, no complaints there. Might have to get the Wii version when it's on sale in the $30 range. 8)

Last year, they had a mid-level difficulty setting missing from the online options (like veteran or medium or something). it was odd they didn't have the same difficulties offline & online. Is that addressed?

With this years' game, the new focus mechanic definitely caters more to the true Sim, hardcore golfers, as more strategy is involved before you hit a shot. If you're one of those casual players that love finishing -20, -25 you'll end up hating this version quickly, especially if you suck at 'True Aim' as it's very challenging.

Personally, I welcome the new focus strategy as I enjoy playing a more realistic game of Golf. If the guy in the cover of the game can spread his drives left and right in real life, miss an easy putt or hit a ball out of bounds, I expect my created player to do the same. It's a much tougher mechanics this year to bring the game closer to realism.

Yes...True Aim on Tour Difficulty makes a huge difference. A very good one.

Have to agree with the sentiments above.

I have only messed with power and shot shaping, not accuracy or putting. With intermediate drive but beginner clubs (dumb design decision IMHO) I finally broke 70 at Hazeltine I believe.

Now many people will not like this but the fact that I had to play real golf, that means not going for tough pins. Being concerned about positioning was never found in any golf game really. I would say not even Links. Plus the thing I like is the fact that it's hard to hit it perfectly but that doesn't mean you are always in trouble. It's the difference between a 20' putt and a 5' gimme. When you hit it that close you feel like you hit a good shot.

After I get better clubs I'm probably going to have to mess around with the sweet spot settings. I think I have them set at 30% for driver and 50% for everything else.

Putting is still hard but not in the right ways .

Divot, do you have any pointers for sandplay even pitching because for the life of me I can't determine the lie of the ball (angle) which usually results in the ball going in it's own direction. And because the camera angle doesn't really show the angle at times. This is one that I hate about the game.

No, you cannot.

I only messed around with 4 holes and somebody who has never golfed I suck badly. I keep pushing everything to the right (I believe that's a slice  ) and didnt even sniff a bogey. We're talking triple bogey to shot limit reached.
I am a patient boy.

well I played in a few of the daily online tournaments and the low scores were -22 or better in several of them. The long drives were 460+ on some holes. I just don't understand how these guys can do this on day 1. I spent probably 5 hours or so on the first day playing and I am just starting to crack 300 when the wind is behind me. Still hitting it 270 or so with no wind on level ground.

They need to somehow put the guys that play that way into an arcade division or something. No way I will ever be able to compete in any of the online events, which really sucks because the game is really fun.

I played 3 rounds online in the Daily tournaments today all on TOUR Pro and saw no scores even close to -22....which is why they have tiered tournaments. I tied for first today (last time I checked) in the Greenbriar Pro TOUR tournament with a -11, only my second tournament since I switched back to the 360 this morning because I cannot stand the DS3 for TW11. It is WAY too sensitive and it is ridiculous to miss tap in putts. With the 360 controller, I am not not mis-hitting putts every putt like I was with the DS3. When the Move comes out, I will return to the PS3 version event though it does not look quite as good as the 360 and the 360 plays faster due to being able to install the game on the 360 HD....

Well I'm playing on pro and every tournament is -22 or better and 450 yard long drives are the norm. If they would just limit the skill points or how many you can put into each skill before it gets absurd it would fix this crap.

Does anyone that cares an ounce about the game of golf really want to shoot in the 40s and hit it 450?

J,

I am using 50% sweet spot as a minimum on all clubs. I max out my Power, then ratchet it and workability down until I get my 50% sweet spot. In fact, I ratchet down workability all the way, then use what power is left to get to 50%. I do not mess with the other settings. I am currently maxed out on Power, 78% on Accuracy, 28% on Control, and 75% on putting. Had three very realistic and satisfying Live Tournament rounds online this AM in TOUR Pro.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
