OT (political): Support the troops?
What the mainstream media doesn't want you to see. Feel free to show your outrage at me, then try questioning your conscience and see if it has an answer. These images are real. You may try to convince yourself that they are not real and that they are isolated incidents. Don't fool yourself. This is the real deal, mates. I posted the censored images and left the most graphic ones out.

America turns a blind eye just as the Germans did in Nazi Germany. May we all burn in hell for the sins that we allow to go on.

Nice 12th post, jackass.
While I don't deny that improper behavior can and does occur within the military, these images come with no source and as such as not credible. Could have easily been in someone's backyard after an after at the military surplus store buying fatigues. Come on. Get this crap out of here. I may not agree with being in Iraq, but I sure as hell support the troops that are there. For those that have misbehaved, may they be punished to the full extent of military law. For the others, keep up the great work in a tough situation.
This forum shouldn't be used for posting this kind of stuff, real or not. If you want to post links, that's one thing. But first-hand posting of pictures like this injects this forum with an air that I'm not too sure I want present here. But just to entertain your argument:
I haven't seen American soldiers in those kind of uniforms. Those look really cheap, actually. And they're forest gear, not desert gear. Americans wear khaki colors there.
Of course, the women are wearing black, full body hijabs. Nice stereotype.
They're so fake.
Not to say that rapes have never been committed in wartime, nor that I'm 100% sure that there have been NO rapes in this war. But I think if you were going to rape somebody, you would do it in a more isolated location than right in the middle of an open field. All it takes is one person to know about this and your ass is court-martialed, so I don't buy that these photos are real. How do YOU know they're real?
Jared, could you take care of this post, please.

We don't have a terms of service thing here at DSP, but I'm sure I'll have to come up with one soon. I'm too busy to do it tonight, but will work on it sometime this week.
In the meantime, we will not allow posting images of a graphic and/or sexual nature. The images in the current link are pictures of what may or may not be troops doing various things of a sexual nature to what seem to be Iraqis.
(BTW, reposting of these or other graphic images will result in temporary and/or permanent bans, fyi.)
ALSO, if you have a post that is not about sports gaming, please mark it as off-topic in the header. If not, I will lock and/or delete the post, at my discretion.
And before anyone complains of censorship, I'm not deleting or locking the post (yet). Even though DSP is a sports gaming site, people should be free to discuss political content if they so desire.
(Of course, comparing Americans to Nazi Germany isn't a good start...but I'll see where this goes.)

You're right. I shouldn't be making a political post that isn't verified by MSNBC and CNN. How dare I compare the actions of America with those of Nazi Germany. Shutting down newspapers in Iraq, censoring the U.S. media, compulsively lying to Congress and the people, and torturing innocent people is nothing that the United States would do. That would be too much like Nazi Germany. The U.S. would never bastardize the Bill of Rights under the veil of something called the "Patriot Act". Right? Taking away the right to privacy and right from search and seizure would be too much like Nazi Germany. Illegally suppressing unclassified government records could never happen in the U.S. You get the point. Keep on waving your American flags and condemning anyone who dares to speak the truth. The devil has a place for you in his house.

I'm sure that some of you will say that Don Rumsfeld does not exist, therefore that cannot be him with the Mistress of Torture in Iraq.

You guys are pretty smart. Surely there is no green camo in Iraq, right? Wrong. Of course, this image was probably made up by someone with incredible Photoshop skills.

This was likely made up too. Hollywood extras are so cheap these days.
It's fine if you delete this. The truth be damned. A viewpoint not in line with those people intoxicated with blind patriotism is obviously not a good thing here.

First off, what I did was in NO WAY CENSORSHIP. I didn't delete the links to the pictures. They're still there, and anyone can look at them if they want to. Just click on the link.
Secondly, my decision to remove the pictures in the first post had nothing to do with mobiggins' post. I don't want pictures of sexual acts on the site, regardless of whether things are blurred out or not. People browse the site from work, and kids browse the site. Out of respect for them, I'd rather not have pictures depicting graphic sexual content directly posted on the site. A pic from a porno with the genitals blurred out would be instantly deleted, and the poster banned. Considering that this may (or may not) be important and topical, I left the links up for people to look at IF THEY CHOOSE.
And this is to Titantron:
You are more than welcome to make a political post that "isn't verified by MSNBC and CNN." And you can compare the actions of the US to Nazi Germany. Notice that I did not delete or alter your post.
However, comparing anything to Nazi Germany is usually the beginning of the end of a post. There are much better ways to make a point regarding our current political climate than comparing us to Nazi Germany and saying that we'll all burn in hell for allowing these things to go on.
If you want to express your opinion regarding these issues, then fine. But by starting a post with inflammatory content, you're making it likely that the post will be a string of insults and not a real discussion of the issues.
So if you want to express your opinion, you can do it without the rhetoric.
I'm all for intelligent discussion of these issues. And you might find that there are lots of people that (in some ways) are sympathetic to what you're saying.
But if you're just here to start flame wars, then that's a problem. And I won't tolerate it if you're just posting to start problems.
Regards,
Jared

Nice source... I'm sure that's all legit, and wouldn't be propaganda of any sort. </sarcasm>
Why don't I post pictures of the victims of terrorism, or pictures of the genocide that Hussein himself executed, and then ask if we should support the troops? (I'm not arguing whether or not we should be in Iraq or Afghanistan, here, but just making a point about using propaganda to influence opinion.) I don't doubt that war crimes occur, but that does not make all soldiers guilty. That would be like saying all those that are of the same country of origin/creed/race/ethnos of the terrorists are guilty. The masses shouldn't be condemned for the acts of a few. Both (terrorism and war crimes) are wrong. If those pictures are legit, then those soliders should be severly punished. Just like those that commit acts of terrorism, genocide, etc. should be severly punished...
By the way, I think your intention to incite a flame war with that type of crap is in very poor taste. A well thought-out and reasonable opinion would be preferable, as most that hang out around here can attest to. Most of us are aware of those accusations, and don't need photographic "proof." (And, there certainly is a possibility that those could've been staged or hoaxed with current technology. Again, consider the source.)

Haha. That's hillarious.
Fletch, easy, man. I didn't want those pics on here for the reasons that Jared stated, nothing else.
Plus if Titantron wants to post this kind of stuff, he should do it in a more appropriate forum.
Also, it's a bit annoying coming in here with guns blazing like he did, when anyone with half a brain and browsing skills can tell that a good majority of posters in here are pretty anti-Bush administration to begin with.

Thats the link to the cardboard pic...I have sent that to everyone I know...its friggin awesome.
Those 'real' pictures from the post look sooo fake-as far as the military is concerned. I'm sure if someone did searches they could find the porno it came from. Not that I would know, but all those are classic porn poses/positions.
Gimme a break new guy...
find somewhere else to post, maybe www.hotlumberjacks.com

Wow, 2 political posts from me in a 24-hour span.
So what you're basically saying Titan, is that these pictures (which are very poorly photoshopped by the way) are a depiction of every american soldier in Iraq? I mean, you really believe that every american soldier is doing those acts? That is absolutely ludicrous to think that even if you believe those pics are real.
Do you hate humans? I mean you should because there have been humans like Jeffrey Dahmer and the Menendez twins. Since they took part in heinous acts then all humans are evil twisted fucks right?
This s*** doesn't belong in the forums. This isn't a political post, this is troll-bait if I ever saw it. Are you from the SR forums?

Why not just post links to the photos that have been verified by news organizations? I agree this may not be the appropriate place for such photos, but I hope no one is denying that the abuse by Allied soldiers documented last week actually happened. CNN even talked to one of the soldiers yesterday who claimed he was ordered to do it, and it was part of an intelligence gathering strategy (lame).
who ever denied that the abuse happened? We're challenging tits obvioulsy fake pics of some crappy porno trying to be passed off as 'real soldiers' abusing Iraqis.
BTW tit, what are you doing to stop our 'sins' and keep us from burning in hell?
Who cares if some Iraqis got roughed up...better than having your corpse dragged through city streets. I'd rather see Iraqi prisoners getting hard treatment than dead Americans. You can boo hoo it all you want, but you look out for your own. If some dude broke into your house, said he was going to kill your mom or some stranger and he tells you to decide. No matter what you say on this forum, you know that you'd pick the stranger to die and save your mom. I could give 2 s*its about Iraq...but I do care about my fellow Americans that are dying in some rat-infested s*it hole country with, as I see it, no good recourse. If they have to f-up some Iraqis to stay safe, then so be it...stop killing Americans.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of these Iraqi prisoners were not terrorists and were only fighting to defend Iraq because they were forced to by the old regime, which is the case with most POWs. In any case, even if the minority of Iraqis would like to hurt US soldiers, doesn't mean we should use the same approach of physical violence against all of them.

No, not all Iraqi prisoners are abused. And not all Iraqis are non-terrorists. But the vast majority of these people did not hold high positions in the old regime. Many of these prisoners were rounded up in the dozens after the allies went after a specific high ranking leader or target. The prior regime was notorious for forcing men to leave their families and fight for causes they didn't believe in. It's not a great leap to say this, there is documented evidence. Unfortunately, before anyone could find out exactly what role these prisoners had in the government, allied solders beat the hell out of them instead of allowing any sort of due process. It is likely 80 percent of these prisoners would have soon been released after it was determined they were bottom of the barell soldiers.
You obviously don't care about the Geneva Convention. Fortunately, most nations and most soldiers do.

The former regime was also notorious for turning the old mustard gas on their own people and putting a bullet behind your ear just for the fun of it. It's a good thing they're only being "beaten up" and pissed on by Americans, if it's even happening on a widescale which I highly doubt it is. The pictures of British troops doing the same thing and published in The Sun have already been virtually proven as being staged and faked. The former regime would have been a tad more violent and final when it came to the punishing those who lost a war to "infidels".
Also, if anyone believe those pictures at the beginning of this thread were real you must have the intelligence of a rock.
