I bought the Wii version, but it's sitting on my desk unopened because I'm afraid. Nearly zero reviews on the net and a lack of impressions can do that to a guy.
It's pretty much the same game as last year with the exception of the new camera view that makes it play like a Golf simulator. You get more courses on the disc, it's the best value out of the three.

Since I don't have last years game, then it's all good. :)

I have the subscription to TWO, so I'm good with the sit down true-swing golf...I just want something to screw around with on the Wii occasionally and play some of the mini games. After IGN finally posted their review, I'm fairly certain I'll open it this evening.

Sh*t if you didn't buy last years Wii game I suggest you open that mofo NOW. You'll love it, the controls for the Wii are sick. Last years game required Motion control plus, don't know about this year if it's required.

I don't think Motion Plus is required, but I've got it anyway since I play Grand Slam Tennis on it. I'll open it tonight I'm sure.

Too bad because most users I have seen offering feedback are saying this is by far the best TW console game in years, if not ever. I have not touched TW Online since last Thursday when I got the PS3/360/Wii copies...playing PS3 exclusively due to lack of time.

I got the game this morning and have been playing it all day. Having a blast. Best TW game I've ever played. My PS3 needs a break.

That's great to hear, but if they just added a "swing sensitivity meter" that would instantly make it the best ever. The lack of flexibility in adjusting the game's difficulty has been it's own worst enemy over the years.

Rent the game. It does this and more in TOUR Pro with TrueAim...if you don't believe me, go to the EA TW or Operation Sports forums and see what is being said....

No joke. True aim is hard and quite challenging, have not been able to break even yet on Pro.

On the Wii my boys can play on the easiest setting, my wife can play on normal, and I can play on Tour Pro. It makes for even and competitive rounds. This is a great feature for families along with all of the courses available for play from the time I open the shrink wrap.

There have been design decisions made on the xbox and ps3 that have me wondering if any of the developers have children. They should talk to the Wii crew and compare notes because that version is extremely family friendly.

I don't have an answer, sorry. I am the only member of my family who plays TW. And the Devs do have families...

I'm actually very interested in knowing the answer to Leebo's # 2 question as well, so if anyone who has the 360 version can answer it, it'd be appreciated!

Thanks!

I know they do...but I would suggest a few things they should do to create a better product for an increasingly larger segment of their customer base:

- ask them to bring in some 4-9 year old children and play Tiger Woods with them. They are all going to be incredibly bored or the children are going to be incredibly frustrated. This doesn't happen on the Wii because everyone can pick an appropriate skill level.

- ask them to go through the very cool process of creating a Gameface character for each family member and then try to have them play a round on a console each using their likeness. Seems logical and easy right? Well, unless things have changed this year you haven't been able to do it since the introduction of Gameface.

- ask them to put themselves in the shoes of the average working gamer with children. They've bought this brand spanking new game with ample courses...but they have to spend time *unlocking* what they have already paid for instead of playing on the various courses with their kids. This unlocking is so ridiculous that *each* member of the family would also have to unlock the courses to use their character! Then if you want to buy the next version...rinse and repeat. I can play all the courses in exhibition mode on the Wii from day 1.

Rented the 360 version and holy crap, with TrueAim on Tour difficulty with Anthony Kim, I had a hell of a time breaking par in my first round. I did however end up -2 at the TPC Scottsdale, but almost everything was on easy except for Pin placement and black tees. So I'd imagine with some good wind and longer rough, I'd be in trouble. It's good to see that I haven't been hitting every single fairway off of the tee...I think I hit about half of them.

Maybe it's because I did the "online 7 day trial" because I just rented the game, but as soon as I fired up the game, in "Play Golf" mode, I had the option of using a good 10+ courses (i'm not sure if I cycled through all of them before I came to the course I wanted). It didn't appear any of them were locked in the 360 version in the exhibition mode.

If you feel this way and I can't blame you, ask them yourself. They are VERY active on the EA Tiger forums and they may or may not respond, but the way you posted above I can assure you would be read and considered by the current TW Dev Team.

Lastly, your last comment is in error. All courses in all versions of TW11 are unlocked from the get go.

Sixteen on the DVD. Seventeen if you pre-ordered. Gamestop was offering Riviera as a free DLC course for the 360 if you pre-ordered the game.

Can you play the Wii version with just the joystick like it was the 360/PS3 version?

I'm playing a variety of ways. I use the 3 click method off the tee. Swing stick in the fairways and precision putting. I'm playing from the Blacks. I took Divot's advice and won two challenges. That bumped my power up to the 300 yd range off the tee. I'm playing on Pro,no aids or grids, real time weather. I'm getting my ass handed to me. It's great. It's been raining here all day, time to play Hazeltine in HD.
