Is the 'move support' confirmed for the PS3? If so, I'll be getting that version. Played a bit more of the demo on the 360 and the commentary by K. Tilghman still sucks. Here I am deep in the sand about 35 feet away from the hole and she says: "Good chance for a birdie".

Yes. As soon as the Move ships, EA will offer a download for those with the peripheral to enable the Move support in-game.

Divot, with the game having a release date of June 8th is there a course count on each of the different versions?

16 courses on the 360/PS3 discs. 32 courses available in all (16 via DLC)....different pricing strategy this year is what I am hearing with course packs being offered instead of all single courses.

28 courses on the Wii version.

Kool, thanks are the courses bascially a rehash from the previous year? IIRC EA usually adds two to three new courses each year, is that right?

Six new courses this year for the 360/PS3.

Celtic Manor (Ryder Cup)
TPC Scottsdale
Whistling Straits
Liberty National
River Course at Blackwolf Run
Greenbrier

Five new ones for the Wii.

All of the above minus TPC Scottsdale.

I liked what I saw out of the demo.

But I'm going to pass on Tiger until they re-do career/upgrade mode. I hate having to start with a golfer than can't hit it tour distance. I don't want to upgrade my player just to make it realistic in the tour mode.

And why in the Ryder Cup mode do I have to see the set-up and swing of all the golfers every time. Rounds are going to last forever! I wish they would add fastplay when you are with the CPU.

I'm definitely getting the Wii version and because I liked the 360 version so much I may get that too. :)

i've often wondered why they don't have the Nationwide tour in the game for you to start with and use to build up your stats?

.
Agreed. Until they just give me a set # of attribute points to distribute how I want right out of the gate I will not buy a Tiger game. Bummer.

It will take all of 4-5 Tournament Challenge rounds to be able to hit Pro distances as the attributes start at 4 and go to 10 and you have complete control over which attributes go where. Really can't imagine a few rounds building the attributes would stop someone from enjoying the game.

I can't remember last years but you had to do a few of the challange stuff to get your stats up. And by pro distances, I'm talking about 280-300, which is about what most pros hit these days.

I think the short game needs some series work. Putting is improved but chipping, sandplay, and pitching has been the same for the last few years. For example, the main way to get the ball on the green is to pitch it. Flops are money. And chipping is rather tough to gauge but there's no need to ever chip the ball.

I really like the ball physics and the fact that the ball can basically go any where off the tee. What I mean, is that you can hit a push fade than just clips a right side of a fairway and head into the rough. This simply wasn't possible last year because it would either be a straight ball or a push. There was no nuance last year.

As soon as I get the game, I'll let you know how long it takes to achieve those distances, okay?

Chipping is very new this year as EA has taken the "money" shots out of the entire short game and they have done all new motion-capture to bring more realistic swings. In TrueAim using TOUR Pro, chipping, pitching, and lobbing are all now stating "carry distance" not final distances (true of all shots in TrueAim mode). If you chip in this mode, you will need to practice because it is very different than TW10. Have not had time to try the other short game shots. TW11 will actually take more strategy and course management than TW10 or any other console version before it.

I forgot to ask, can you map the 360 controller so that you can swing with the RS instead of the default LS? I didn't see it in the demo.

I can't remember now, but I do think I swapped the buttons in the demo and it worked.

Thanks fellas but i'll wait till my copy for the 360 and Wii shows up from Amazon.com

Divot you mentioned there maybe a course pack this year? Has EA released the list of courses and price? I take it they are unlock codes? I ask so hopefully we don't have to download GB's of courses for TW 11.

Not yet and there are no unlock codes as all courses on the DVD are unlocked from the get-go...finally!

Good deal. I played the Demo for a couple of hours today. I'm sold. Looking forward to getting this on release day.

Sorry for the confusion guys. What I was referring to in "unlocking the courses on the disc" pertained to the DLC course pack(s) only that Divot was referring to. It would be great is, when the course packs become available that we don't have to download the courses to our 360 drives but EA just unlocks them on the disc when we buy them from the marketplace.

Huh. LOL. What are you talking about about. You want downloadable content that is already sitting on your DVD? :D I'm pretty sure the backlash for hidden fee courses that you already paid for, would be pretty high in this case.

I have no problems with the model, as long as it's a reasonable price. Hopefully it's not something where the course packs are more than $15. But it will probably be close to $20 for 4-5 courses.

No what i'm referring to is buying the DLC course packs but EA just unlocking it on the disc. It's been done before and usually pisses off gamers when they buy a course and it's only 160KB, like the two add-on courses for Hot Shots Golf on the PS3.

What i'm getting at is that i'd rather just have EA unlock them once we pay for them rather than having to download 1-2GB worth of golf courses for TW 11.
