Oh how easily we forgot...this is the same franchise that took out f*cking FIELDING and said we'll put it back in next year.matthewk wrote:I assume that prior versions had errors. This is the first 2k baseball game I've played on the PS3.
How do you remove errors and injuries and then just say "Oops. Well that will be a new feature for next year"?

The patch is out, at least for 360. Played one game. Pitching is def harder, as the target zone is much smaller. Fielder speed defaults to 20 now, which feels weird, but it helped a few hits get through the infield in the one game I played so far.
Not sure if it's a coincidence or what, but a throw from the pitcher to 1st actually took Dunn of the bag and was scored an error..... course, might be the only one i see for another 50 games.....
I swear they have slowed down the pitches as I was early on almost everything! Though maybe it's the fact I didn't play much while waiting for the patch.

OK I forgot one thing I definitely hate about this game is when you bring in a Closer. The pitching meter timing is almost so off timing you can't even pitch effectively.
My Yanks were up on the Twins 3-2 no one out in the bottom of the 9th and the Twins not only tied it but are looking to win the game. Nice !
I lost 4-3 yay

yea. It's good for a relaxing, one hour session of ball, despite it's flaws.
If they don't fix up some things next year though, I'm not getting it again. A baseball game with no errors or injuries is like a hockey game with no penalties..... just not right.

I still play it from time to time, but right now I get my fill of baseball from helping coach my son's little league team ands watching the MLB network. I prefer this to the Show due to the R-stick controls.
I'm sure I'll pick it up more once it gets into the fall, even though we'll have football then. For some reason I always end up playing sports games out of season.
As for next year, no way I'm getting this on day one. I need to be sure they fix the injuries and errors while not screwing anything else up in the process. If the Show incorporates R-stick hitting and pitching, I'll give that a shot.

Its getting the majority of my gaming time with a little bit of Madden mixed in. I can't finish a game of the Show without falling asleep. Wish I could see more errors though. Very enjoyable game.

Re: MLB 2k10
I'm already getting a bit burnt out on football games, so I went back to this the other day. It really is a lot of fun with the controls.
I turned off the announcers to go with more of an inside the park feel. One funny (well, now it's just annoying) thing I hear in Miller park is fans constantly yelling "Hit one all the way to Green Bay". Nice touch except that Green bay is North of Milwaukee and the field faces east. If he hits it to Green Bay it will be foul by about 200 miles.
The MLB today and postseason modes really bring new life to this when you don't feel like going through (or simming) a whole season. I started a postseason with teams that won't all make it to the real playoffs, but would be fun to see. Of course, I included the Brewers in this
In my first game against the Giants yesterday I won with a walk off pinch hit HR by Gamel.

Re: MLB 2k10
Great to hear Matt. It's still my favorite BB game this year. I rarely play The Show. I love the Pitching Interface, especially MLB Today and the dynamic audio presentation. I hope they build on this game for next year.
I may not even get The Show next year.

Re: MLB 2k10
I decided to post this here,as opposed to starting an early thread on 2k11,since there isn't a whole lot of info, other than Roy Halladay being named cover boy for next years game. And that at this time there is going to be a game. Looks like the pc will get another offering also. I'm still a "Show" fan, but hopefully the 2k team continues to improve upon a solid showing from last year.

I plan on skipping The Show next year. I bought both this year and played the hell out of 2K10. The presentation was thru the roof and The Show while the better game came off as stale. I expect 2K11 too be even better maybe much better because VC was involved with this years game as well as next years.snaz16 wrote:I decided to post this here,as opposed to starting an early thread on 2k11,since there isn't a whole lot of info, other than Roy Halladay being named cover boy for next years game.
