I know most casual fans would have preferred an all-action fight. There's a reason why the Ward-Gatti trilogy is held in such high regard by fans even though technically it wasn't even in the same area code as the master class Floyd displayed last night.

Watching Floyd is like watching a pitchers' duel or a dude who hits only 275 yards off the tee but one-putts on nearly every green. It's subtle, elegant mastery of the craft. A velvet-covered scalpel, not a sledgehammer.

Probably the closest analogy I can concoct is the difference between a serve-and-volley tennis player and a baseliner. Both can be very effective, while serve-and-volley is quicker, more violent and probably more exciting than endless rallies of ground strokes from the baseline.

Both styles have merit. But different players have different desires and strengths.

I'd rather see Floyd counterpunch, stick and move all night than what Josh Clottey did against Pacquiao last month, which essentially was to not fight.

My only quibble about Floyd is that I wish he would take more risks to finish. He hurts guys yet still dances and moves. He would much prefer to dominate through boxing artistry than sheer power and savagery.

Let's face it: The casual boxing fan does not appreciate Floyd's artistry. They want to see attacking action, blood, bruised faces, ferocious exchanges every round. They want to see Castillo-Corrales I; they want to see the 12th round of Froch-Kessler last weekend.

Yet Floyd continues to generate more PPV buys than any other fighter. Honestly, I think most of his appeal with casual fans is his undefeated record. Casual fans don't buy the PPV to see how Floyd will fight; they buy it to see if he will lose.

If he loses, will his next fight be a monster draw if it's not a rematch against the guy who beats him? I'm not so sure, because only hardcore boxing fans like me and others in this forum appreciate the guy's style and skill.

Another reason why boxing fans want to watch Floyd's fights today. To see him dropped. And the only guy that I can see penetrating his brilliant technical web is Pacman, although in the long run after 12 rounds Mayweather would be the winner.

And like everyone else, I want to see if Pacquiao's speed can penetrate Jr's tough D. But from what I hear, if this fights is never going to happen, Pacman may just retire and call it quits.

And if this fight doesn't happen, it's Manny's fault. Floyd holds the high moral ground here. He and Shane Mosley -- an admitted EPO user for one fight -- both took the tests and didn't pass out in the ring. They didn't contract hepatitis.

They did participate in the cleanest major prize fight in the modern era. Floyd must be commended for this stance, in the long run.

The onus is on Pacquiao to take the test -- just like Mosley did -- to make this fight happen.

I'm def in the "casual" category, but my issue with the fight being a snoozer was simple: after the 6th round u could tell May was going to do just enough to win by decision (and he did). Decent matchup, boring result. PK compared it to a pitching duel, but that things was over by the "4th inning". There was no "duel" to it. Be curious to see the pay-per-view numbers, as it had to feel like a waste of $ to most. It's amazing what boxing gets away with as far as par-per-view.

That's Joe Goossen. Actually, he's one of the more sane, smooth corner men in the business. A fine trainer.

The thing I like most about Joe is that he won't bullshit his fighters. If they're losing or just got their ass handed to them in a round, he'll tell them while also giving tactical tips and encouragement to turn the tide in the next round. Goossen's fighters always listen to him intently in the corner because they know he's telling the truth.

Goossen also is renowned for his wardrobe. No Everlast or Grant satin warm-up tops like most trainers -- just those wild shirts.

I'll believe it when the deal is signed.

Pacquiao must budge on the drug testing. That's the linchpin for this fight to be made. Mayweather and Mosley had no problem with it, and Mosley admitted to using PED's before his fight with Oscar De La Hoya in 2003.

If Manny has nothing to hide, then take the tests. Drawing blood didn't seem to weaken Money against Mosley, so Manny's belief that it weakens him is bunk.

My attitude toward Mayweather's stance on blood testing has turned 180 degrees. When he first raised it as a condition for the Pacquiao fight during those failed negotiations, I thought it was a stalling or ducking tactic.

But now that Money has followed through with WADA drug testing against Mosley, who was a legitimate top-five pound-for-pounder entering their bout, there's no excuse for Manny to avoid taking the WADA tests.

It's up to you, Manny. Do the right thing.

Money won't serve a minute of time because money buys good lawyers. Bank on it.

About tonight's fight, Sergio Mora could give Shane Mosley more trouble than some think. Shane always has found trouble with taller fighters with good movement, like the late, great Vernon Forrest.

But Mora weighed in 2 pounds overweight, which means he probably really was draining to try and make weight. So I see Shane winning by a fairly close UD. Probably something in the 116-112 range.

Really look forward to Pacman-Margarito. R. Garcia seemed insensitive adding extra weight in his pupil gauze tape as shown in 24/7 while making fun of F. Roach. Margarito will try hard at reaching Pacquiao's body with his longer reach with uppercuts and looping hooks but Manny's superior speed should neglect that tactic.

That remains to be seen as Pacquiao's strengthening coach thinks he lost some of that legendary speed with the added weight and he thinks his trainee is at about 80% of his best days.

IMO, even not at 100%, Manny should turn the match around the 5th round on his favor. Of course Margarito thinks he will knock the Philippine man in 6 rounds, but my money is on Manny. Again.

Pacquiao TKO 7.

The only thing that keeps this fight from being a knockout in the first three rounds is Tony's tungsten chin and Manny's respect for Margarito's power and strength.

Pacquiao has way too much hand speed and foot speed for Margarito, who never has been tough for much slower fighters to hit.

This is not a competitive fight in the slightest bit. Probably the worst of the big fights each weekend of this great month for boxing.

Lopez-Marquez was a slugfest last weekend, and Mathysse may have been robbed against Judah. Plus how about Glen "The Road Warrior" Johnson knocking out Allan Green -- who proved again he never will be an A-level fighter -- and advancing into the semis of the Super 6!

One of the most entertaining one-sided fights I've seen in a long, long time. Tony just kept moving forward, even when absorbing big punishment from Manny. Plenty of action.

Still, this bout proves why Laurence Cole shouldn't be allowed to officiate major bouts. Margarito took WAY too much punishment. Cole should have stopped this after the 10th round. He should be smart enough to realize that Margarito, as a Mexican, was always going to go out on his shield. He was not going to quit.

It was up to Cole to protect Margarito, and he failed miserably, as usual.

There are only two legitimate fights left for Manny: Mayweather or a third fight against Juan Manuel Marquez. I would love to see Manny take on the Supafreak Paul Williams. A victory in that bout would be even more impressive than his victory tonight over the much bigger, but slower, Margarito.
