MLB Season 2010

That was awesome. I'm waiting for that to happen in an MLB game. What makes that even more impressive is that it's a close game. It wasn't a blow out where the guy was just having fun.

Roy Halladay is good. I have never really watched him pitch all that much since he was over in the softball league previously...but damn...impressive as hell. Works quick too which I really like. He probably shouldn't have had a shutout tonight but the Philly D was incredible. Robbed homers, Ryan Howard gloving everything in the world around first...just impressive all around by the Phils. Guess they were pissed about last night still.
A workhorse. If he stays healthy not many can touch his fastball and his curveball is a nasty one too. It pained me to see him leave TOR.dbdynsty25 wrote:Roy Halladay is good. Softball league, love it.
Having your Opening Day starter become your 8th inning guy in less than a month is about the strangest managerial move I've see in baseball.

And it doesn't count when you can't even play a full game.
Chipper needs to hang em up. He's DONE. The guy gets hurt every time he takes a swing or dives on the field. Brian Jordan was correct in calling him and out saying he doesn't put the time in like he should at his age to prevent the nagging injuries...he's 100% correct. Time to let the rookie take his rightful place in the #3 slot where he'll be for the next ten years.

I agree with you and Brian as well. It pains me to watch Chipper these days.dbdynsty25 wrote:And it doesn't count when you can't even play a full game.

Pisses me off to no end to watch some of these ball players not hustle when they hit a ball they think they have hit out of the park, only to be held to a single or thrown out at second. Yeah, I'm talking to you Albert Pujols! Hustle!!!! Freakin' pathetic to watch him get thrown out at second base last night. He did redeem himself later in the game, but he needs to take a page from Scott Rolen.

It's not a smartass comment when it's true.lexbur wrote:This smart*ss comment immediately came to mind when I saw this final score from last night: Red Sox 13, Blue Jays 12.dbdynsty25 wrote:since he was over in the softball league previously
And yes Dan...I never thought I'd see Pujols pull something like that. Hell of a game last night...Cox should have left Huddy in to get out of that mess in the 7th.

Well, unfortunately Scott, Albert and Yadier seem to get a free pass from LaRussa when it comes to hustling, or lack thereof. Too many times have I seen them fail to run out ground balls. There's no excuse, especially when Albert is going to be commanding more money than Ryan Howard. In any case, that's my one nitpick when it comes to Albert. He's a great ambassador for the game and city of St. Louis.

I like the lineup right now, and having a more natural first baseman instead of the Tatis/Jacobs hodgepodge seems to have snapped something into place defensively (not to mention getting rid of an automatic out in the batting order), but I'd feel more confident if Omar had gotten any one of a number of dependable-but-not-outstanding arms this winter. The Mets can't keep dancing around the minefield of Maine and Perez forever.
I say live wih Perez as the #5, and expect it to be more of a two-headed monster with Perez giving way to Takahashi most nights, but send Maine down to strengthen that shoulder and bring up Dillon Gee. Watching Ollie pitch is frustrating, but watching Maine pitch is f*cking DEPRESSING.

Blah... Mets run started the day I purchased the MLB.tv subscription. Nuff' said, thank me later...Slumberland wrote:I like the lineup right now, and having a more natural first baseman instead of the Tatis/Jacobs hodgepodge seems to have snapped something into place defensively (not to mention getting rid of an automatic out in the batting order), but I'd feel more confident if Omar had gotten any one of a number of dependable-but-not-outstanding arms this winter. Actually, watching Perez pitch is depressing too.
Takahashi looked pretty good last night.
