YEP...I feel for you guys...I was rooting for em. The Hawks just plain flushed that game down the toilet in the 3rd.

Bad luck to give up the lead and that give away to give up the game winner was ugly

Oh well....Go Habs! :D

Hawks better not take the Preds too lightly. I've said it all season long, NAS is a well coached team, good D-men and once they get a lead, good luck trying to maneuvre in the neutral zone as they'll trap you good.

Nice hockey night so far as the Habs are taking a 4-2 lead into the 3rd.

After watching the last 2+ minutes of the 2nd who thinks they will hold the lead?

An AO goal and a bad power play later its now 4-3 with 12+ to go.

I have almost zero confidence in the Canadiens.

EDIT: That didnt take long 4-4. Im thinking a 7-4 Cap win for the final.

Oh, Oh. Listen, give your Habs credit. I thought they've been playing a perfect road game so far. Backstrom's goal which made it 4-2 was interference on Halak. Zebras blew that call. But hey, it gave the Caps momentum and yeah, it looks all red now. You don't want to wake up a sleeping giant in AO.

I do...and I love the effort. They have put up a hell of a fight.

I just hate too see them revert to last week's play.

Edit: To OT we go... Can they take out the Caps twice in a row in OT in Washington? I wouldnt bet on it but Im sure a wishing and a hoping :P

NHL playoff OT is always great stuff!

Helluva a game XXXIV. It got OT written all over it now. I'll be rooting for your team, they've been playing a good road game. But they're playing the highest scoring team in the league. Bring it on.

Wow, rocket of a shot how do you stop that? I have Backstrom in my pool, heck of player, tough loss for the Habs. That kid Carlsson is good to watch too, only 20 as M. Green continues to struggle.

You dont just give up the blue line and let them just walk into your zone. Cmon in as close as you like and take an uncontested shot.

That was just a pathetic weak ass play. The way they played from the point that they took the 4-1 lead.

Now Im going to go and root for your guys :).

We'll need it. One of the best third periods that I've watched so far in the playoffs. What frantic pace, just Olympic stuff Hockey. Canucks need to improve in the execution department, the 1st period could have ended easily 4-0, run into penalty problems in the second where the Kings took over and the third period was just wild.

A. Alberts is no replacement for W.Mitchell, but he's playing because A. Rome who's been filling in for our shut down guy is still hurt. Dude needs to stay off the ice, a major liability.

D. Doughty has such a presence on the ice, as young as he is and to able to read the plays as he is, it's just amazing.

Both goalies have been solid, OT should be a beauty.

Ref U suck! Yeah. Tough break for Bieksa and the 'Nuckers. He saves a potential goal from Brown but when the Kings' captain falls down, his skates dangerously cuts into Bieksa's mugger who goes into the bench slowly to get help as Ehrhoff already plays the puck. Too many men. Kopitar gets credit as his shot hits Salo's pants, into Luongo's stick knob and in. F*ck me.

Two minutes before that play Burrows gets a high stick from Smyth but gets no call. Regardless, great game, VAN has to be sharper executing their chances.

I thought Vancouver was the underdog :P

Tough loss 10's. Tough losing in OT, tough in blowing the two goal lead and tough in the way Betman's clowns officiated there at the end.

That was just not a good night to be a fan of a Canadian based team.

Rule 60.1: A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players and goalkeepers must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player or goalkeeper is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.

I thought you Canadians knew all there is to know about hockey? It was the correct call. You could even argue that Burrows wasn't even touched and faked it, hence why Smyth immediately raised his arms after the "contact". The refs were good last tonight, Nucks fans are just looking for excuses.
"Be tolerant of those who describe a sporting moment as their best ever. We do not lack imagination, nor have we had sad and barren lives; it is just that real life is paler, duller, and contains less potential for unexpected delirium." -Nick Hornby

Fans are all the same the world over and from city to city. We tend to forget certain things and see things different ways when it comes to OUR OWN teams. Its especailly prevelant in the heat of the moment.

Having said that...The kings cheated :P

All refs suck in every sport.
Bring your green leotard friends to LA with you id like to see how red and green go together.

Smyths high stick was a follow thru to be interpreted by the refs or the rule as LAking said, a tough break for vancouver for sure but maybe a little Karma for the embelishing Burrows no?

Monday should be fun its only been 8 years since LA fans saw a home playoff game watch out for flying peanuts

Excuses my ass, I for one will be the first one to acknowledge that we need to cut back on our undisciplinary play and go for the kill when the opportunity presents. And there lots in the 1st period where we could have buried the Kings for good. But they didn't, the rest is history.

The refs have a tough job night in and out, and I hate to see a game being controlled by them. The 1st game we had Kopitar's entire stick stuck in Sedin's visor, and that was uncalled. It's in front for everyone to see, what rule do I need to read that THAT, was a highstick?

But the call that irks me the most is the too many men last night. Bieksa is clearly cut, goes to the bench for help but the puck touches him incidentally so the linesmen call it, not the refs but they have to call it because their colleagues' arm is up.

It's only 2 games, we need fair games, fair calls. The series has been good so far.

Dan Boyle will not have any sleep tonight. What a way to end a game in OT.
