I'll donate what I can too. I would suggest getting something for Naples and his wife instead of something like a jersey just because they have both been through hell during this time and both could use our support. Just a thought, I'm cool with the jersey too.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

OK, I sent PM's to (hopefully) all of you who expressed an interest in donating. If you didn't get a PM, send me one and I'll send along the info.
I'll accept donations for a week or so, and then we'll make a call about what to do with the cash.

Facebook update:
Spending the nght with Marcus! First day of Rehab was AMAZING-- he is even stronger than we thought in the core muscles. Got dressed today, shaved himself, and did speech, OT, and PT. Last day of antibiotics, so hopefully PICC line will come out soon. Still has gnarly rash, and no improvements in hearing. (From Jen)
fyi, his Birthday is today.

I love the idea of a fun gift which would lift his spirits, and hers I'm sure, and for a long time to come. But I also like the idea of cold, hard cash, because as someone mentioned earlier, I'm sure there is quite a bit of strain on the finances because of this situation. I don't know what would be best, but I do know I'm proud to be part of this community and that we all miss Naples and wish him and his family the best.

Hey
Hey all! I had been away for two weeks but when I got back last night was quite a pleasant surprise as Marc has the trach out, can talk, has some movement in his legs, but most importantly is the same old Marc we all know and love. I showed him the Flyers-Rangers and Union highlights on my CPU, and he was very pleased. All good news.
More good news from Mrs. Naples via Facebook:
Jennifer Greene Naples Still making excellent progress. Legs are getting stronger, core is strengthening. Still no change in hearing, but working hard to get better! Will have a "conference" with the physicians on Thursday to get a tentative discharge date... Keeping our fingers crossed that the prognosis is good!

Great response to the gift $ drive, guys! The money is still streaming in. I'll probably keep taking contributions until next Wednesday or Thursday, as I know there are a couple of you who said that you would get me the funds early next week.

Hey guys,
This thread is impressive to read. Thanks for all the support.
Truth is, I barely know what happened to me, and have learned details in this thread. I just remember thinking I had a routine fever and laid out of work. Next thing I know I wake up in the hospital and several weeks have passed and docs are telling me I've made great progress.
I think I am out of the woods in terms of serious medical problems now that I am in rehab. Will be a few more weeks before I have full control of my legs and can walk and go home. And I still can't hear. I saw a specialiist today who said he expects my hearing tome come back in time. Makes me nervous to do nothing but wait and hope, but what do you do?
Patience patience patience. Thankfully I have a great family who has been VERY supportive, and some great friends here. And for those wondering, AFAIK, my insurance is covering everything. Also, this is first time since being admitted to the hospital in early March I've had the focus to sit down and use a computer!!

GREAT to hear from you Naples. Must be crazy to 'wake up' to all you've been through. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, but the best info I have been getting from DSP lately has been the little updates now and then that have listed your various improvements. And your post is another one!
Rest up, get better, and boy is it nice to see you pop in and post here!
