You better hope so, but most other Yankee fans say otherwise. Haven't you seen this story before? Javy just isn't a big game pitcher...there is a reason you get traded so many times.

Well...unless you win another ring, I'd say all of those moves were a failure. They could have brought back the same exact team but they chose not to. Time will tell.

Cleveland only sucked last year (and maybe this year). I would guess over the last few years the Yankees have benefitted way more from being in the same division with Baltimore, Tampa Bay and Toronto than Minnesota has from being in the same division as Cleveland and KC.

Heck, the Twins have only won the Central once in the last three years, twice in the last five, I hardly call that "like clockwork". And if you want to go back even further, nobody's won more Central division titles than Cleveland.

I think top to bottom, the Central's been way more competitive than the East since they split it up into six divisions. With the exception of last year, but like I said, last year was the first year Cleveland really sucked.

with formidable opponents like Philadelphia, Tampa, Seattle and yes even Boston, Cashman brining back the same team, would have guaranteed nothing. In fact, it may well have cemented an early post-season exit for NYY in 2010. You may know, Selig has removed off days from this year's playoff schedule. The Yankees (or likely any other team) will not be able to get by/advance with only 3 starting pitchers, as they did in 2009.

Matusi was my favorite NYY player, in the 'post-dynasty years'. And Damon was solid as well. However, it is better to say goodbye to a player a year early, than 2-4 years too late (the contract Damon was demanding).

youth, athleticism, and defense matter to a team. Not only for 2010, but for 2011 and beyond

Seems like a lot of hr this year so far. Hudson of the Twins almost hit one in his first at bat (missed by 2-3 feet) and it just seems like everyone is hitting the ball out of the park. This season will be great! I am really happy to see Hayward get that first HR. I think this will help him a lot. Had he gone 10 or 15 games without one I think he may have started to over swing and let it get in his head. Is he pretty much a lock to win rookie of the year if he even performs at 80% of what's expected of him? I'm not in the know with the NL as much as the AL. Anyone wanna pick their WS matchup and winner now after 1-2 games?

At least spell his name right. And if he hits .280 w/ 20 homers and 80 rbis I think it will be a very successful rookie season and he'll probably get the trophy.

THAT WAS A BOMB. DB, I figured you would be excited over this kid. He looks incredible. I watched the clip at MLB.com and it was fun as hell to watch...and I'm a Phillies fan! They did a story on him back in spring training where they said he hit a BP HR out of the stadium and broke the sunroof of asst GM Bruce Manno's car. LOL, he was in charge of the draft for Milwaukee when I was drafted by them. Good dude. I hope he's not the new Vlad Guerrero to the Phils. Take a look at Vlad's numbers against the Phils when he was with the Expos...SICK.

The best part about Heyward is the fact that the stadium is packed. I can't remember the last time I saw the Braves fill their park...I mean this was the 3rd largest gate in Turner Field history during a day game. Chipper mentioned that he doesn't remember it ever being as loud as it was when he hit that ball. And this was WITH the Cubs fans who come out in droves wherever the Cubbies are playing. Over the years Braves fans in Atlanta have definitely gotten complacent. They just didn't show up like they did in the early to mid 90's. It's good to see...maybe they can get some sort of home field advantage now.

Homegrown guys like McCann, Escobar, Prado, Hansen, Heyward and a couple other guys they've got that will be up next year most likely (Freeman, Vizcaino, Schafer, Kimbrell, Teheran)...Braves fans have a lot to look forward to.

it was loud. Was barely able to make out his walk-up track/music.

remember well, the minute Heyward was selected by the Braves in Round 1 at #14. I was praying they would pass on Rick Porcello. And when they did, it made me wonder to myself why they valued Heyward over him. Now everyone knows why

Heyward is a player I'm definitely excited about, along with McCutchen over in Pittsburgh. These guys seem like they are going to other level talent.

I gotta say I agree. The fans reacting to the HR didn't act like Braves fans...they looked excited - like they were having fun. Maybe things are changing in the ATL.

Twins are really impressing me so far. 4-1 record. The White Sox are garbage but taking 2 of 3 from Anaheim in Cali is very impressive. Lots of power from this lineup. You can put it on the bo0o0o00o0o0oo0o0rd, yeeSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Awesome outing from CC again today for NYY. Those 2 plays Tex and A Rod made to preserve the no-hitter were on another level. Too bad he lost it. Maybe he should have taken a page out of the David Wells playbook and gotten drunk the night before.
