Is the only difference in pitching on Veteran and All Star the fact that they don't give you any pitch suggestions on All Star like they do on Veteran?
Also, if you pitch from the behind the pitcher view, you'll see the catcher giving you signs. You have to turn that off in the options if you don't want to see anything.
I'm thinking of going to Hall of Fame for pitching. Just finished a series with the Brewers where my ERA was under 2.00. I'm going to go through one more cycle of the rotation and see how if I'm just on a roll or if I need to bump up the difficulty.
Not saying that anyone shouldn't bump up the difficulty level, but something to remember when playing a baseball game is that good playoff teams win a good bit more games than they lose.
I've got a season going with the Cardinals (on Veteran settings, I believe) and this past weekend I wanted to forward ahead to the playoffs so that I could finish my season before the real season starts and updated rosters become available. To make a long story short, the cpu offense has come alive in the playoffs with the Dodgers taking the first 2 (of the best of 5) in LA by scores of 8-5 and 7-3. I squeaked out a 5-4 win in game 3 back in St. Louis and had a rollercoaster 9-8 win in game 4. I started game 5 on Sunday night and got down 3-0 by the 3rd inning and shut the game off. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but the Dodgers series reminded me that I may not need to bump up my settings when I start my new season in another week or 2.
How are you guys handling the CPU screwing up the rosters? I've turned everything off but if I even let the CPU handle a minor leaguer it will do some really stupid things to my MLB roster.
As the Rox, it loves to put Helton in the #2 and leave good lefties on the bench against righties.
I got no-hit by Bud Norris of the Astros tonight. He only struck me out four times, but I had trouble getting good contact on his fastball, and even when I did, a strong wind blowing in a Wrigley got my hits to hang. I managed four walks, including back-to-back ones with two outs in the bottom of the 9th to put the tying run at the plate, but I grounded out to end the game.

Wow, that sucks. I hope you at least got to see a cool celebration, unless you were too ticked off to even watch.
No, it was cool. They had a congratulatory animation where his teammates picked him up, and there was commentary throughout the game on how he was doing. Just one of those games where anything I hit well went right to a fielder. And at least I had an exciting finish.
from what is being posted, stealing bases at a high-percentage (in RTTS mode) is basically impossible. Have followed posts explaining how people playing RTTS had maxed out their player's speed attribute to 100%, and their baserunning attribute to 100%, and were still being thrown out over 50% of the time. Even after making slider adjustments etc. For a person who wishes to model the game of Rickey Henderson, Ichiro, Willie McGee, and the likes, this is dissappointing. Again, if this proves to be the case
however the following, i can attest to first-hand: Apparently Dusty Baker is the manager of my AA team in RTTS. After pitching out of the bullpen in my entire first month of AA, i had a 0.82 ERA (all-star level). Personally, i didn't think my fastball/changeup/sinker combination was that good, but maybe i was lucky. When the manager let me know i had finally made the starting rotation, i decided to bump the level to Hall of Fame level. In my first start i managed to pitch 5 shutout innings. Not bad for an 18yr old, making his first professional start. With my team up 2-0, and a solid bullpen behind me, i am elated to be in-line for a possible win. Interestingly, my manager decides to leave me in to start the 6th inning. Ok, my pitch count is at 90, my stamina nearly zero, but am willing to suck it up. 2 wild pitches, 1 hit, and 3 walks later and i am still in the game. When the manager finally pulled me, my pitch count was at 110. Thanks, Dusty
I don't know if the above account was due to pitching on Hall of Fame level. However, i did pitch 2+ seasons in RTTS mode in MLB 09 (all-star level), and never experienced anything remotely similar

lol, Brando
may have to change my name to Mark Prior. Cuz it made me think of him : )
haven't played another game yet. It kinda took away the simulation/immersion element. Hopefully this was either an exception for MLB 10, or there is a "work-around". Like had mentioned, in MLB 09 i found the logic (pertaining to this subject) to be fine. However, in any future editions/MLB 11 etc., it would be kewl if the manager asked you how you felt (via text on the screen) and you had input (yes/no) if you wanted to remain in the game. It wouldn't have to be automatic every time, ie the manager could override your decision a fraction of the time. To me, anything which can add immersion and reflect simulation is a postive
Something really weird is going on in my Twins season. I have started the year very hot and am 7-2 and in first in the Central. My first 3 home games were against Boston and I went 1-2. The next series was another home series against Kansas City. The attendance for the 1st game vs KC was 11,000! What is up with that? The stadium holds ~40k and I am in first place and only have 11k fans show up? I know it's not real life but come on. There were so many empty seats the whole game felt like batting practice. Anyone else seeing this?

haven't noticed this in Exhibition mode. And all my RTTS/minor league games are approx 10-11,000.
far as the Twins go, might make sense if snow was in forecast/field. Except, no weather effects for MLB yet

Did you promote the games??
I play season mode and not franchise. The next series against Cleveland at home was more like it. Still some empty seats but not nearly like before. I have to think they have the attendance figures from last year still in the code. The Twins drew an abysmal amount of fans last year, so that's gotta be what's going on. They've already sold a TON of season tickets this year and I doubt if even 10 games won't be sellouts so this is odd. I won my first game with a walkoff hr and it was intense! Losing 4-3 to Cleveland bottom of the ninth bases loaded and my guy Kubel who had a 155avg hits a grand slam 430 feet to right center. You can put it on the bo0o0o0o0o0ard YESSSSSSSS!!!
