f*** me.

In my football match tonight I'm going to see if I can get fouled outside the area but then fall IN the area and get a penalty.

Not that I'm bitter or anything. ;)

Nice diving header by Park though, showed balls flying in head first with Johnson's boot high. Well done. Bastards.....

Good 3 points for the Sky Blues at Fulham, 3 away games at Chelsea, Sunderland and Fulham and 7 points from them. Now 9 games left and 6 of them at home, though many of them might be tricky (Man U, Villa, Spurs).

Mourinho in summer when Mancini goes to Juventus.

I think the foul was outside, but that pea-brain Mascherano held on to his damn shirt so long that it was a tough call. OTOH, I think the calls for red were ridiculous. Carragher was right next to the play, and no ref is going to send someone off in that case.

With both teams struggling the last couple of years, it doesn't have the same pizzaz as earlier years. Still, it's a separate war always among these two teams and it looks like the game will be replayed on Wednesday now after the torrential rain.

Zeppo,

Did you go to the opener at Red Bull Arena? And if so, how is it?

Good to know. I wondered why a Serie A game was on FSC at 6 p.m.

Thanks!

That is true, Masch should have just f***in kicked him 5-10 yards earlier and taken the yellow, god knows anyone with half a brain would have.

Love the Setanta commentators (Craig Burley) who kept going on about it being a definite red even though he acknowledged that Carragher was the the last man - his argument was that Carra 'wasn't interested' in going covering back, therefore Mascherano was effectively the last man.

There are only two possibilities that can explain Burley's comments;

a) He is a mind-reader

or

b) He is a c*unt

Really amazing. Almost hard to believe it's real. They sort of screwed up in the concourses, making them too small and narrow, and really crowded with people in line for beer. But inside the bowl, it is just awesome. It's so freaking nice to have a proper facility, and it's such a huge difference from the crap we had to deal with that it's not even funny.

It was an amazing night and I'm so happy they made a new CBA and I can't wait for the season to begin! You must come up when Philly plays here.

You've got season tickets for the Red Bulls this year as well, I'm assuming? It looks like a great place to see a load of games.

I plan on making a trip or two up to either see Philly or DC. It's right off of of a PATH station, correct?

And he played for Chelsea, albeit while they were still shyte.

I must say though, that he's one of the most negative 'experts' on any of the major football shows...everything is poor to him. Christ knows how he would recognise quality though, it's not as if he was associated with it during his playing career.

It is amusing though how both Sky and Setanta use these 'experts' whose expertise seems solely to be into proving that nothing is as good as in their day...eg

Jamie Redknapp (1 league cup medal)
Charlie Nicholas (a few trophies in some pub league, flop at Arsenal)
Craig Burley (1 FA Cup medal, some pub league medals)
Matt Le Tissier (nothing, nada, nish)
Tony Gale (at Blackburn when they won the league, don't think he contributed much).

It always amuses me when they talk about 'winners'

I do have season tickets, yes. And yes, it is right next to the Harrison PATH stop. Newark Penn Station is one stop further, and there are a bu ch of bars and restaurants right there in the ironbound. There's one place about a 15 minute walk from the train station with some outdoor space where we will gather and the ESC will get themselves together. From that place it's a ten minute walk over the bridge and you're at the stadium.

You guys are 2 points safe with a game in hand. Wouldn't throw in the towel just yet.

After watching the A-League Final the other night, I don't think the Aussies get what a foul is in soccer.

That game in hand is Southampton away, and we last won away from home in October. 2nd bottom of the away form league, losing more points from winning positions than any other team in the division (26, which is the difference between us and a play-off place), the only thing that can keep us up is our home form, and that's a kind of pressure we could do without in late March.

If Ibrahimovic could understand at least half of what #10 intends to do, they could score in bunches together. Second goal was pure genius.

Anyone reading or read Soccernomics? I've found it to be a very good read so far (only half way through).

Two great goals for Eto'o today in Inter's win that took them 4 points clear of Milan. I just saw the highlights on FSC. Anyone else find the new woman presenter on there kind of annoying?

Heh, the Mancini-Moyes altercation was hilarious.
