Yeah, just brings them in line with the non-blinged.Still ridiculous, but nobody dominates games with those, same as the knife runners.Wilk5280 wrote:And by nerf you mean ever so slightly limited their extreme over effectiveness.
The gimmick guys and the casual players are rapidly becoming irrelevant and will become even more so with the next map packs.

That'd be nice. Just strange the game has been out since NOV and not a peep. A bit of a miscalculation IMO as a lot of my friends got burned out and have moved on to other games ( including me). World At War seemed to nail the timing as far as releasing new stuff.Wilk5280 wrote:I have no evidence to support this, but I have a feeling we'll see either double points or a map pack around March 2nd.

World at War was VERY[/b[ underrated online, IMO. It's only two drawbacks were the tanks (wish they would just leave the vehicles out of it) and the lack of variety in the kits online. The MP40 / Jug combo was in such a class of itself that nobody really used much of anything else.
In the MW and MW2 you run into all sorts of different setups. There are so many effective ways to play, so many things to unlock and gain XP that you'll continuously see new stuff out there.

I'm still playing this quite a bit, despite the issues. I play mostly mercenary team death match and enjoy that I can vary my play style as I choose. On close maps like Highrise and Terminal, I'll go with a Vector and keep moving constantly. On Wasteland, Derail, and Sub Base, I'll slow it down and snipe. With Afghan and Invasion, I'll try a few different approaches, rotating between an M16/Javelin, Scar/Thumper, or Aug/AT4 and either roving or playing a more cautious point-to-point style.
Even the glitches haven't bothered me that much. The care package glitch was easily the worst because of the ability to string together air power, but it's also not that hard to avoid kills from the air if you play smart, even on fairly open maps like Wasteland. The only thing that consistently annoys me is the overpowered melee and that anything other than a shotgun blast can't seem to stop a knifer who has begun his attack.
I guess the bottom line is that I enjoy both hunting morons and squaring off against guys who know what they're doing. Those two things are keeping the game fun for me.

I've played some rounds since the patch and it is very nice not having a constant stream of air support.
I've progressed far enough in my first prestige round that I have all the toys I want, and I'm only trying to unlock stuff when I'm looking for a fun distraction. I have no plans to prestige again.
It was rather nice to stop worrying about all the BS around this game and just play with the solid (if overly speedy) shooting action.

I noticed an interesting new bug last night. I kept happening upon dudes spinning around in circles very rapidly. It basically looked like an iceskater spinning around (while holding an assault rifle). Maybe it's an Olympics-themed glitch.
Has anyone else seen this? I ran across it at least three times on the Karachi map while playing Ground War.

Welcome to DSP Scrut! I have not seen this yet but perhaps when we level up later tonight you can point it out to me...TheCentralScrutinizer wrote:I noticed an interesting new bug last night. I started seeing this too about 2 weeks ago. I figured they were trying to trigger some kind of glitch or something.TheCentralScrutinizer wrote:I noticed an interesting new bug last night. Could just be guys goofing around, setting their aim sensitivity to 10 then holding left/right and spinning like mad. Like these winners here;

Naples - that is hilarious! Hadn't seen that before.
What I was seeing was one guy at a time just randomly spinning in circles similar to the move those guys were doing (the standing variety rather than the crouching or jumping variety). The first time I saw it I didn't really even register it before just shooting the guy. The next few times though I just kinda sat there and watched in awe. So they were stuck in it for at least several seconds.
Glad to know I wasn't imagining it and that others have seen this as well.

Some strange things going on in COD land.
Treyarch to release COD game this year, new dev studio to make COD 'action-adventure' game, and most importantly, Activision have fired two IW heads for 'insubordination' and 'breach of contract.' Presumably creative control and development cycle issues?
Wouldn't be surprised if the COD series goes straight into the toilet. This whole chain of events reminds me of Harmonix leaving Activision and going on to make Rock Band, or when these same IW founders left EA after making Medal of Honor to form IW and create the COD series.
It will probably be a while before all these changes sort themselves out.

LOL at the picture Kotaku used for their post on this:

Naples, I think you're probably right. I have really enjoyed MW2's multiplayer, but it's clear this was a much sloppier effort than MW1. Pumping more titles into the market probably means we'll see the Call of Duty equivalent of Guitar Hero: Van Halen.

They're a riot.
I'm not sure how many of you are Allo' Allo' fans, but this is great . . .

It is strange that for such an anticipated title and with Activision eager to maximize revenue that there has been silence on map packs or other DLC.greggsand wrote:Has a COD game ever been out this long without even announcing new maps?? I don't get it.
That said, I bet we see a release or at the very least an announcement on a map pack by the end of the month.

Remember the controversial "Russian" mission where everyone gets shot at the airport? Here's Michael Barnes recreation of that scene. Warning: Don't bother watching it if you're annoyed at how everyone gets annihilated.

Umm...thanks? What's the point of this? We've played the game...why do we need an instant replay?10spro wrote:Remember the controversial "Russian" mission where everyone gets shot at the airport? No need. Just another point of view at how he record it from different camera angles than the game's standard first-person perspective. I thought it was cool how he edited together to look like a movie or TV show.dbdynsty25 wrote:Umm...thanks? What's the point of this?
