I guess you were lol. There fixed.
LOL! Thanks.
How are the crowds at the Polo Grounds? It would be cool if the guys all wore collared shirts and ties or suit jackets and fedoras, like back in the day. And very few women even at the game.

This is cool to hear.
Sometimes some strange things happened last year with regards to the flow of games. I wouldn't call it comeback logic per se, but it seemed liked the AI just wanted to keep games close either way. It seemed it was really hard to get killed in a game, or beat a team handily.
Was playing 10 and I jumped out to a 6-1 lead, and sure enough, the CPU came back to tie it. It was just one game, but seemed to happen a lot last year.
Good to hear you won 8-1. Are you guys seeing a good variety of scores?

In my game it seemed like the exact opposite of comeback AI. In the 8th and 9th it seemed like the Sox had given up, they were less disciplined at the plate, swinging at pitches they normally wouldn't, had a couple of first-pitch-swinging weak groundouts.
The fans started leaving, things were getting ugly on the south side.
I have had a few times where I will get the lead runner at second and then the 2nd baseman or SS will just hold onto the ball. Maybe I am hitting the buttons wrong but I never had this problem last year. Any tips are much appreciated.
The defense is really different this year. Makes you take good angles and throw when in position. I like it and need to adjust how I play.
I am also getting hit pretty hard on Veteran. You really need to think about what you are throwing and trying to set up the batter.
No trouble turning two but whenever I use the broadcast cam my team can't field worth sh*t. If I use the standard cam my team is generally solid on D. Not saying it's a broadcast cam issue but damn that's one helluva coincidence.

Are you pre-loading the 2nd through? I noticed that unlike last year, you can really load up the throw as the ball is on it's way to the 2nd base bag (or whatever base you're trying to turn the double play from).

Maybe I am not pre-loading enough. Maybe trying to time it to close to when the middle infielder catches the first throw. I will give it a try.
Just played a day game at Kaufman Stadium. What a gorgeous looking ball game. I think the game looks beautiful at 1080p. Not only are their live dugouts, but live bullpens as well! I hit a ball down the line and a couple relievers put their legs up as to not get hit by the baseball. These little added details really do add a lot to the overall ambiance of the game.
Played an earlier game against the Cubs, and it was just cool to see all these Cards fan scattered throughout Wrigley. Overall, the fans look really nice. Best in any sports game I've seen.
Anyway...yeah, definitely just try to preload it as much as possible. I noticed the timing is a little different this year compared to last...so that's probably your issue.

So far my favorite park during a day game with clear and sunny sky has been in Minute Maid park in Houston. There probably isn't a ball park I hate more in real life than that joke of a park but damn if it doesn't look amazing for a day game in the Show.
Broadcast cam took some getting used to but I'm finding it pretty playable now. I switched back to the old one for a minute and it seemed really "gamey", jetting all over the place to follow the ball. The only place where broadcast has been failing me is with richochets off the fence... the compressed depth of field in broadcast makes it really hard to judge the angle the ball takes after impact.

Just had my best offensive game at Minute Maid park. Another sweet looking ball park to play in that I agree.
Ludwick and Pujols both smacked home runs to put the game away by the fifth inning. I led 6-0 through 6 and gave up three runs the rest of the way. In no way did I feel a sense of comeback A.I. like I did last year.

Yeah...the games don't have the "sense" of being scripted as much this year. I went down 2-0 to the Cubbies and was trailing until the 5th when I got a game tying two run homer. Then we stayed tied for a few innings and then I broke through with another 3 in the 7th inning and 2 in the 8th. The Cubs didn't really even put up a fight the rest of the way offensively and the game ended 7-2. One of the better games I've played.

Man my pitchers were getting hammered on Allstar. I had to drop down to Veteran and really pay attention to pitch placement. Make a mistake and it's clocked. I like!

To add...the other part of this is if the pitcher can bring the heat. Umbaldo Jiminez can get away with a lot because of his high 90s fastball. I can throw a meatball with a 99 MPH and tie up a guy. Now I can't do that others on the Rox. This dynamic has been missing for me in baseball games. Hurlers are good because of their heat and if you add phenomenal control that's damn near unbeatable. So far I think this is captured well.
The hard part is to remember that Jiminez is a special case. Because if I do the same in the next game, it's going to be sunny with a chance of meatballs.

I got the game and LOVE IT!!! Only one problem... I can NOT hit!! What's the secret? I always end up looking so foolish. Do you have to point the left stick in the area where the ball comes in? I end up swinging and it looks like I should have hit it but it is either higher or lower than my swing. I am a total rookie at this. How do you make contact effectively? I have the defense and pitching down but can't hit to save my life. Just finished a game with 4 hits total. All of them were bloop singles.
Before the pitch, use the right analog stick and push up to try and hit it in the air, or down to hit a ground ball. Don't worry at this point in trying to use the left analog stick to aim. Simply press X to swing and it will be timing based for the most part. I wouldn't use the square button as you can't check your swing with that button. Most of all, be very patient. Try and get ahead in the count and you'll be rewarded with a much better ball to swing at. Don't feel bad about going down to "rookie" for batting until you get the hang of it. You could always try the home run derby to help with timing.
So all I have to do after the pitcher lets go of the ball is time it right? I was right on a bunch of pitches but ended up missing them due to the ball being above or below the bat. I have the timing down but can't locate the ball. I am struggling badly but still having fun. If I guess it will be high but it's low what do I do to make contact?
Sometimes after I guess up or down the hitting box will turn red. What does that mean? I can not tell where the pitches are headed. I just swung with Utley at a pitch that ended up hitting him LOL

If the box turns red, you have guessed the right pitch (fast ball, slider, curve, etc). However, you haven't guessed the correct location. If you guessed the right location, I believe you would see a circle (?) pin pointing exactly where the ball is going to land.
But as I was saying, prior to the pitch, use the right stick to influence how you wish to hit the ball. You'll know if you pressed the right stick in a direction as it will lightly vibrate. I wouldn't mess with the left stick initially because it can throw your timing off. Sounds like you're getting the hang of it. It's definitely frustrating at first. What I attempt to do is watch the pitcher's release to determine if it's going to be a pitch over the plate.
Last piece of advice. If you don't want to drop down to "rookie", play an exhibition game and choose to face their number four or five starter. I got dominated today by Verlander of the Tigers. I think I only had four or five hits. However, I was able to string together 12 hits against Norris of the Astros (their fourth starter I believe).
