Very sorry, got home later than planned yesterday and pretty much collapsed on the couch. The game never crossed my mind until I walked into Dan's office this morning for a meeting.

8-ish tonight should work for me.

Since the season is closing in on the final weeks could you all do me a favor.

If you have no intention on coming back, or if you're on the side like Jared and Scoop and also don't see yourself coming back please let me know.

Again only post if you're NOT coming back.

The reason I ask is I plan on keeping Madden 10 and running this league even if it's just a handful of people. But there is a trade in right now for Madden 10 at GS and you get a $40 credit to Madden 11.

I'd hate for someone to hold on to their game solely to play in this league and then their is a mass exodus in 3 weeks and the league ends up with 3 owners. I have no idea when the trade in ends, but I thought it fair to bring it up here.

After all this league is suppose to be fun, not work and some people lately by the tone of their posts really don't seem to be enjoying themselves.

I believe the trade-in ends Thursday.

As great as it's been, I did not plan on returning for season 3, what with the baseball games coming out and the prospect of another season that's mostly vs. the CPU. If I'd known about the Gamestop deal, I'd likely have used one of my Gamefly slots for Madden through the playoffs, and traded in my copy. They just shipped me Bad Company 2 however. Tricky timing!

Sorry. Intended to play the game yesterday, but the whole household (except me) has come down with a stomach flu so last night was a no go between the cleanup and such.

Rams 35 - 49ers 27

The Rams completed a season sweep of the 49ers with a 35 - 27 victory last night. Stephen Jackson rushed 16 times for 121 yards and a touchdown. Marc Bulger was 11 of 18 for 192 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT.

Nate Davis had 229 yards passing, 2 TDs, and 3 INTs. Frank Gore was back after a 3 week vacation and rushed for 94 yards on 18 carries.

A fumbled punt returned for a TD and an INT both under the 2:00 mark signaled the end for SF.

Like last week, the 49ers dominated time of possession 33:04 to 14:56, but come up on the short end of the scoreboard.

Good game Corgy. I thought you did more than enough to deserve the W. EA seemed hell bent on giving me that game. Jackson's long TD run and that fumble at the end of the game were both ridiculous.

Terry that match up stuff is very cool.

Sure. Any time after 4PM PT/7PM ET is good with me, but 6P/9ET gets a little dicey as I usually eat about then.

I actually completely forgot that the week advanced and that Power Rankings were due...lol.

I am so focused on that OAK/DEN game that I completely lost track

I'm really torn about this. I've really enjoyed the league and I have never played a football game after the Super Bowl, but the trade in offer is too good to pass up.

I'm gonna trade mine in on Thursday, but I can borrow a friend's copy for league games until we finish the season. At the end of the season I will see how many people we have left and if it still looks like we will have a handful, I will stay in.

Let me make it clear I would find the time to play one, maybe two games per week like we've been doing. I would be in favor of reducing the length of quarters back down to 7 or 8 so the games don't take an hour and 15 minutes to play like they do now.

I have enjoyed the league immensely and many thanks for having me

G7: I would send a PM, but here's the deal: I should be able to play tonight around 8 or 9 or 10, or maybe Saturday early afternoon. Maybe. I could play Sunday AM, but Danimal wants to flip before then.

If we don't get it in tonight, I'll back out to let you play it if you can't go Saturday around noon or one.

Just a crazy couple of weeks for me here. I was really looking forward to the rematch, but oh well.

Truth of the matter is I am going to be out Saturday night so the chances of me flipping it are slim.

I'll say Sunday Noon CST if that helps you out.

if would help me, actually, as I'd love to play it Sunday and start at 10am or up to Noon, but I don't know if that would work at all for G7.

Guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I won't be returning to the league. With it being 7 years I guess I underestimated the impact an infant would have on scheduling. It's one thing to miss out on a poker night or show up and have to bail early but it's another thing to miss a scheduled game or have to bail out in the middle. The league was fun and hopefully I'll be able to participate in the league for Madden 11 if there is one. I had a lot of fun playing with you guys.

It's hard to miss out on that Gamestop trade-in deal that expires tomorrow as well. Plus, with my limited time to game I wouldn't be very competitive. I haven't played Madden in 5 weeks. Best of luck to all. Somebody beat Terry.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Pittsburgh improves their record to 11-4 and avenges an early season loss to the Bengals with a 34-18 victory in Cincinnati. Willie Parker once again led the way for the Steelers gaining 199 yards on 22 carries and scoring two tds. The Steeler defense came up big also with 2 interceptions and 5 sacks. Carson Palmer led the Bengals as he went 22-31 for 338 yards with 2 tds and 2 ints.

The Bengals opened the game with a long drive that ended with a 2 yard td pass from Carson Palmer to Chase Coffman.

The two teams would trade field goals in the second quarter before Pittsburgh would tie the game on this 70 yard run from Willie Parker:

Cincinnati put another drive together toward the end of the second quarter but LaMarr Woodley intecepted Carson Palmer and took it 89 yards for a td to put the Steelers up 17-10 at the half:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Steelers put a nice drive together on their opening drive of the third quarter and ended it with a 4 yard td pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Carey Davis.

Willie Parker would score his second td of the game on this 51 yard run in the third quarter:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Fourth quarter saw the Steelers add a 45 yard field goal to go up 34-10 before Carson Palmer found Chris Henry for a 46 yard td.

With less than two minutes to go in the game the Bengals were driving for another score when Carson Palmer was intercepted for the second time in the game, this one from Arnold Harrison in the endzone who ran it back 74 yards before being tackled and Pittsburgh was able to run out the clock:
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Steelers will close out the regular season by hosting the Texans next week while the Bengals will end their season at home against Tampa Bay.

Rams 34 Falcons 24

For the second straight game there was no tackling Steven Jackson as he breaks a hundred and one tackles on his way to 200+ yds rushing vs the lowly CPU Falcons.

Lil Marc ( I hate you in a Rams uni) Bulger didnt do as well as he threw 2 incredible ints that could only be described as "EA says so".

Next week the Panthers...oh oh.

Texans 20, Titans 17

HOUSTON - In facing the league's hottest offense, the Houston Texans looked to the sport of baseball for their defensive strategy: don't give up the home run. Specifically, Houston looked to contain MVP-candidate Chris Johnson, who has topped the 2000 yard rushing mark already and scored 22 touchdowns.

Despite surrendering a 390 yards to the Tennessee offense and 198 total yards to Johnson, the Texans kept their rivals out of the endzone for most of the game, eking out a 20-17 win--just the second win against a human opponent in Texans history.

On the first play of the game, Houston running back Steve Slaton did his best Chris Johnson impression, ripping off a 46-yard run that put Houston well into Tennessee territory. As they have all season, however, the ball-hawking Titan defense forced a turnover:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Titans hit Matt Schaub as he threw, allowing Nick Harper to snag the wounded duck from the air and stop Houston's momentum. Houston held, though, and scored on their next possession with this 30-yard scamper by Slaton, giving Houston a 7-0 lead:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Slaton finished the day with 12 rushes for 137 yards, including three runs over 20 yards.

Tennessee moved the ball well against the Texans defense, but had to settle for two field goals in the first half as Houston held onto a 10-6 lead. The Titan offense came out firing to start the second half, and Tennessee seemed poised to take the lead until quarterback Donovan McNabb made a critical mistake:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Rookie cornerback Rakeem Jordan stepped in front of McNabb's pass and raced 87 yards for the score and a 17-9 Texans lead. The interception marred an otherwise strong outing from McNabb, who went 20-25 for 242 yards.

After another long Tennessee drive ended in a field goal to make the game 17-9, the Titans finally got their big play from Johnson. The speedy back turned a short pass into a big 42-yard gain:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

That led to a five-yard touchdown by Javon Wringer, and a successful two-point conversion tied the game at 17-17 midway through the fourth quarter. But Houston put together a long drive of their own, highlighted by a 42-yard pass to tight end Owen Daniels, that made it to the Tennesee one-yard line. Unable to punch the ball in, the Texans played it safe and kicked the field goal to make it 20-17 just before the two minute warning.

As they had all game, the Titans offense moved the ball down the field effectively. McNabb hit receiver Kenny Britt for a 34-yard gain and Johnson pushed the ball further and further toward the Houston goal line. Facing third and goal at the five, overtime seemed inevitable. Instead, the aggressive Titans--out of timeouts--decided to push for the win in regulation with a roll-out pass by McNabb:

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/127. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Finding no open receivers, McNabb attempted to take the ball in himself, but linebacker DeMeco Ryans stuffed him. Tennessee could not get set fast enough to spike the ball and time expired as the Texans notched their seventh win in the last eight games.

Tennessee finished the season by hosting the unbeaten Raiders, while Tennessee attempts to close out strong against the Steelers and their ferocious ground game.

Great game, Todd, and kind of an unbelievable win considering how much you outgained me. Those shoestring tackles on Johnson's bigger runs were the difference in the the game :D
