Diablo25 wrote:Quick question...I didn't get last year's game and was wondering if zone hitting is in the game? In other words, is there a mode where I would use the left stick to swing in a certain direction? On the demo it just seems like all I have to do is get the timing down and I hit it. Can anyone clear this up for me?
You're Mr. Baseball around here and you didn't get last years game? I'm shocked. 8O
Hehe...maybe I did get it but got rid of it so quick that I don't even remember it...lol. I think I just played the demo. I just can't remember if it was in the game.

I don't see how anyone can't watch that video and say that 2k looks better. No stupid strike zone crap, no cartoony player models, just pitching and hitting...the way baseball REALLY is. The lighting is way better too. 2k just looks too colorful for whatever reason.
Cannot wait until Tuesday.

Getting totally frustrated with NHL10 and looking forward to playing the most realistic sporting game out there.

My opinion, of course.

The Show would have to really WOW me to be better than NHL 10.. but baseball isn't my bag like hockey is...

Two things came out of that, outside of raising my excitement for Tuesday. 1) Lots of fastballs again from the CPU pitcher. May just be Halladay as the cutter and FB are his A and B pitches, but i know there has been concern in past year over pitch variety so i will reserve true judgement until next week. 2) Looks like i'll be adjusting the Pitch Speed slider again this year because watching that video i'm envisioning 10-12 strike outs a game once again for this old goat who's brain to button pushing connection seems to slow more and more every year.

Yeah, Hudler needs to go. Hopefully, they'll revamp the presentation next year. I'm not completely tired of it, but I can't imagine another couple years of the same ol same ol. Though, they have added more phrases from what I could tell during my short stint with the game. I'd love if they could implement two different broadcast crews. Maybe a home and away, or at the very least, a game of the week broadcast.

The (cough) "Hud Dog" used to be on the 2k series. Drove me nuts.

I am tempted to pick this game up this year now that I have a PS3. How in depth is it? The last baseball game I played daily was Ken Griffey Jr for SNES lol... I've seen people playing this game at Target and Best Buy, and it looks really confusing. How long would it take a rookie like me to pick it up and be able to have some success?

Follow Rodster's advice and you'll have a blast. You can have my 09 copy for free in 3 days. PM me your addy and I'll send it to you. That will give you a damn good taste of what 10 plays like.

This has me chomping at the bit to try RTTS this year.

The only thing I wish The Show did was 25 minute games like MVP. It was nice to play for an hour and get 2-3 games in (3 if you simmed blowouts). It's just hard to get into a season for me since playing time is just not there like it used to be.

Does this year's game have a playoff mode? I could see having a fantasy draft and them playoffs for me since I don't have the time.

You can do what I do JRod and that's only play 1 game out of every regular season series.

I know but I tend to turn into a purest and then try to play all the games.

I wish there was a 28 game season.

Is there any info on being able to install the game on the hard drive? As much as I like 08/09, the load times really blow.

That's exactly what I did a month ago. Free codes to the classic parks are icing on the cake.

First thing I'll do in the morning is to pick up 'The Show'. Not sure if the PS3 problems will be solved by then for my phat 60 GB.

Apparently reading the PS3 Problem thread isn't on the top of your to-do list. :) Already fixed man.

Picked this up at midnight at a Battlefield opening....I finally understand why you guys were raving about 09 so much. This game is a thrill compared to MLB 2k10.

I guess my biggest question is this. Is the this years version such a leap over last years that it's worth shelling out $60? I'm totally happy with MLB '09 as I only play RTTS.

It's just sounding more of the same so i'm looking for an honest opinion.
