I agree. I want to play the demo, but won't be one of those people who play it hundreds of times before the release. I've purposely not played '09 for several months in fear of a little '10 burn out.

Why would that matter if this game was such a vast change from 09 like several people have said.

Because any game will eventually get old after 162 hours.

lexbur wrote:Yeah, no matter how good the game is, it's challenging enough to keep it fresh for 162 games. No demo, or even goofing around with exhibition games for me. That's one of the great things about The Show, I know I can just set it at All-Star default and dive right into my season.
I'm actually thinking about waiting to buy it this year until we're closer to getting opening-day rosters. The last two years I've wound up playing a franchise right away for 25-30 games, then starting over. While that's not a big chunk of the season, it is a lot of time. I'd like to actually finish a season this year, which I have yet to do because it just takes so long.

It wasn't on the PSN Store last night. I don't think they will release one this late. I still hope they do.

Where have you seen comments like this? I'm afraid that because 09 was so good, it will be hard for 10 be feel very different. From what I've seen of the gameplay videos it looks real similar. Even the overlays look almost identical to last year. Aside from the obvious changes like the new staduims and the catcher cam, I'm not sure what will really make 10 a big leap forward.

Right now I'm on the fence between getting 10 or just sticking with 09 until 10 drops in price.

So I can see there’s some interest in the Demo. Ok, understatement, I know. I can tell you that we have completed it and it’s been approved. We are working on trying to get it released as soon as possible.

Many folks have played the full game at Best Buy on one of their kiosks. Everyone is extremely impressed with the graphics upgrade, additional animations, and real time broadcast presentation.

Here's what I'm excited about.... Pitch Delay slider. This is the time between pitches in which the computer waits to throw the next pitch. By increasing it, the game will move along faster! That to me is as big as in game saves..

Also love the option of being able to select your skill level for hitting and pitching. Now that is sweet.

Game saves even on exhibition regular games?

No, not that I'm am aware.

Played a quick couple innings at Best Buy in Chesterfield, MO (for Mizzourah and Tjung if interested). The game feels very similar to last year's at initial playing. They must have had the game playing at 480 or 720, because it looked nowhere near as it did last year, and it's supposed to be a step up graphically. The game is meant to be played at 1080p.

- The meter is much harder to perfect it seems.
- Game was set as the Cards vs. the Yankees. It was a very grey day in NY.
- Fielding does appear to be a little more responsive.
- The new broadcast angle looks very realistic, but makes it more difficult to adapt to where the ball is.
- I saw a fielding error by the second baseman where he kicked it while he was trying to field a grounder up the middle. Don't recall seeing that last year.
- Yankee Stadium looks meticulous and very life like.
- The meter throwing in the outfield makes a significant difference as opposed to years past.
- I love the look of the new overlays. Gives it a fresher look.
- I saw fans reach over and try and field a foul ball hit down the right side.
- Crowds looks very nice.

That's all I could get from my little 2 innings of play. It wouldn't allow me to pause and adjust the settings (pitch delay slider, etc.).

Nice impressions Dan. Can't wait to play RTTS, the only mode I play so the new broadcast camera should look sweet. :)

I just purchased a dvi to hdmi adapter and played The Show 09 for the 1st time on my 24" Dell monitor @ 1080p(before I had component cables for the monitor and 4 yr old rptv Sony that maxed out at 1080i)and the graphical difference is stunning. Its like playing a new game. Can't wait for next week,or perhaps a couple days of a demo.Anyone who says there is little difference between 720p v 1080p are not seeing clearly.

Now THAT is an improvement I was hoping for, but did not expect. This and Target field may just be enough to pry the $60 from me.

I don't see how anyone can't watch that video and say that 2k looks better. No stupid strike zone crap, no cartoony player models, just pitching and hitting...the way baseball REALLY is. The lighting is way better too. 2k just looks too colorful for whatever reason.

Judging from that video and not the actual game, I don't think it looks any better than 2K10 and I sure as heck don't think the lighting is anywhere near as good but hey...that's just me.

Tried the game some at a local Best Buy ( I was surprised they already had it up!) and it "felt" like last year's game to me. Sure there were some
new overlays and things, but the game didn't appear to be "that different"
from the one I used to play on my old PS2. Sure the gameplay is solid and looked nice on that widescreen. But I prefer the way 2K uses the thumsticks for pitching, throwing and hitting. However, I do prefer the "pace" of the game in The Show. Feels perfect in that regard. 2K seems like baseball on Red Bull sometimes. Everything is quick, quick, quick.

Quick question...I didn't get last year's game and was wondering if zone hitting is in the game? In other words, is there a mode where I would use the left stick to swing in a certain direction? On the demo it just seems like all I have to do is get the timing down and I hit it. Can anyone clear this up for me?
