Sportdan,
That is the batter's eye feature, where as good hitters might see what the pitch is before it's pitched.

Here is my precidition.
This thread grows to 3 times the size of the Show thread as the same handful of users gush over this God awful product like hobo's having a party at the local dump.
Meanwhile The Show owners will be too busy playing the game to post anything. Except for GT of course, he will need to get at least one EA jab in that thread

According to the 2k mod, it's their clever marketing "strategy". Because, i guess the game will self destruct if you record more then one video, so they are waiting to put it out to "spread things around".dbdynsty25 wrote:Why does 2k insist on not showing any gameplay in any of their videos? Oh wait, I can probably guess.
I beleive the quote was "if we put out a video, then the only thing left is the demo!"

No I have not. Most of my experience with The Show were on a PS2 and a friend's PS3. I must admit, I only played a handful of full games with it and never even saw RTTS, so maybe I missed the boat on that one. It just "appears" to me that they haven't made any major changes to the core gameplay of The Show in 5 years.vinny-b wrote:Jack: have you tired RTTS mode in recent years? To me, this felt more like actually "playing" a sport, then any other sports vidgame have ever played. MLB 08 (PS2) in particular. Taking part in running the bases, playing OF from the player's perspective (although the recent PS3 versions need a better camera in this area) etc.
I just hope 2K doesn't disappoint again this year. The chances of it not coming out as a bug riddled mess are about equal to the chances of Dennis Rodman getting sober.
I predict the 2K10 will outsell MLB 10 significantly, leading to more people posting about the game.Danimal wrote:Here is my precidition.

Ummm...what's your point? It may sell better, but it certainly isn't a better game. And that's been proven year after year. So the post count is a pretty useless stat when it comes to game quality. That's all that counts.Aristo wrote:I predict the 2K10 will outsell MLB 10 significantly, leading to more people posting about the game.
That was pretty much my point. I didn't see the need to make derogatory comments about people that happen to play 2K9 and post about it. I doubt any of them were making the argument that it was a better game than The Show.dbdynsty25 wrote:Ummm...what's your point? It may sell better, but it certainly isn't a better game. And where was my derogatory comment towards those that play the game? Far as I can tell, I just stated the obvious (that the Show rates better each year). It's not like I said you're an idiot if you like the 2k series better. Did I?Aristo wrote:That was pretty much my point. I'm with gregg...I buy both games every year and I sell the one I don't like as much. Just so happens it's always 2k that hits ebay.
I haven't seen this My Player trailer posted yet:

Supposedly, there also is a 2 inning gameplay video that will be posted later today by the GI guy who has the game.

I'm sure he was talking about me. I'll remember the "sells more" argument next time people start hating on Madden.dbdynsty25 wrote:And where was my derogatory comment towards those that play the game?

Did you miss where I said that no one claimed that MLB 2K9 was a better game. I don't even think 2K10 will be a better game than this year's show.Danimal wrote:I'm sure he was talking about me. I'm just wondering why you care who posts about a game? What does that have to do with anything?
All I was saying was that 2K10 will sell more, which could result in more posts. I don't think it is the result of delusional fans gushing about the game instead of playing it.
So you are planning a Madden defense fund, eh? Do you get in these kinds of arguments with a lot of games?

Actually now that I look at last March's NPD numbers, MLB 09 on the PS3 (305K) outsold MLB 2k9 on the 360 (205K). I'm pretty sure the the PS3 version of 2k9 didn't do very well since it didn't even make the list, whereas the PS2 version of the Show 09 still sold over 100K. So it appears that 2k10 will NOT outsell the show. So any prediction based on that sales fallacy will probably be false as well.

Looks fine and all but why does the throw over to first with a runner on look like it's in fast forward? Bizarre. And the throwing still looks ridiculous. The ball just comes out of the hand so weird. On the good side, the presentation is very well done and the commentary sounds pretty good.TheGamer2 wrote:the gameplay video is now live:

The numbers look kind of awkward on the jerseys.. could have been the video..
Hopefully the video is also why it looks really choppy to me...
Love seeing a walk.. Perez does throw wild, just like real life.
I really like the low batting view..
Stadiums and graphics look very vibrant.. presentation looks great..
Overall.. I'm excited to see the demo.

Yeah, good stuff. Loved the look of it all. (I'm one of those who love the pitching-mechanic) The pitcher/batter looks great.TheGamer2 wrote:the gameplay video is now live:

I have no idea what numbers you are looking at. VGChartz has 2K9 selling 630K for the 360 and 130K for the PS3.dbdynsty25 wrote:Actually now that I look at last March's NPD numbers, MLB 09 on the PS3 (305K) outsold MLB 2k9 on the 360 (205K). It had MLB 10: The Show selling 590K on the PS3.

I agree, I thought the video looked solid. Andi think the pitching mechanic is actually improved. I thought 2K9's was a step back from 2K8's. But this looks like an overall improvement. It will be interesting to see how it avtually plays.greggsand wrote:Yeah, good stuff. Loved the look of it all.
