I woke up again today to no internet. On my way in to work I called Comcast, again, and finally got more information than the standard "There is a service interruption in your area." The woman I spoke to explained that a line was cut and they are trying to trace where it starts. Apparently my whole city has been without internet since Saturday morning. At least that's what they tell me. I'm hoping it's back on when I get home from work today or at the latest tomorrow afternoon. If it is we can definitely play our game.

Guys my work buddy joined as the Niners and played his game.

I told him he needs too get his butt here ASAP and post or you guys will tear him a new one. It was his birthday this weekend so I'll cut him a little slack.

Hey guys, I am here. My name is Bill and I am co-worker of Dan's. Which means that I can go 1-15 for the season, as long as that 1 win is against Dan, it will be considered a success.

I took over the Niners and played my CPU game last night. In spite of 3 INT's from Alex Smith-Cutler, the Niners beat TB 31-21.

It's been a couple years since I had Madden, so I'm a little rusty yet. My d has been ugly enough I might not have stopped you from scoring 63, but I'd like to think I could have scored more than 7.

Danimal, Scoop and I are resigned to having this one simmed. Due to force majeur, we simply can't play it against each other; and I do beleive we both feel it would be the most fair to let the CPU hash it out, and let the chips fall where they may.

It sucks, as I love to play against scoop, and I'm sure he feels the same way. But the weather and the Internet gods are against us, so:

let It sim, let it sim, let it sim!

This just in... the CPU is not good!

Jets over Packers, 54-3. The Jets defense had 10 sacks, and Mark Sanchez threw for 528 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Before our rookie draft did anyone go online and use a guide to find out the hidden potential of the rookies?

Before anyone gets on me, no I never said you couldn't but it certainly wouldn't be in keeping with the way we want this league to run.

So here is your chance to let the league know if you did this and why you thought it was acceptable.

I also don't need a bunch of posts saying you didn't. Thanks to some hard analysis by Jared we have the facts and an idea of whats going on. So before making a rash decision on my end, I want to see if anyone has anything to say.

I never knew draft classes were the same for every franchise until we started drafting and guys were talking about X player and Y player etc.......

Also I am a little lost. I thought I was on a bye week. It looks like I am to play Vader and his Steelers. Did we recently flip? Need this info quick b/c if a flip is scheduled then Vader and I need to get our game in ASAP

You'd think I'd be more happy about being 3-0 but this is not how I wanted to be 3-0. Zep proved again to be a real stand-up guy. My internet connection has been down since Saturday and I offered multiple times to leave the franchise so he could play the cpu but he declined each time letting it get decided by the Madden simulation gods.

I'm hoping my internet gets restored today since Comcast is actually coming out to the house. Wish me luck as I will be at work and I'm leaving it up to my technologically challenged wife to ensure they don't leave without fixing the problem. Needless to say, I'm worried.

And what Danimal brought up really sucks if true. I was under the impression that each rookie class was randomly generated. I guess not. Sack up and fess up if you did that is all I have to say about it.

Never went to look at anything here. Would ruin the whole concept of drafting and hitting or missing. I did draft once in another league and remembered 2 or 3 guys (mostly because of who had horrid ratings but ended up being a pretty good player).

What's going on, anyway? Sounds like something pretty big is brewing.

If only to cut down on the level of drama, why don't you just directly ask the individual(s) whom you suspect may have been using guides? Otherwise we're going to end up with 2 pages of unnecessary denials and delay.

The fact of the matter is Jared discovered something while looking at recreating the past rookie class so he could play off line and practice. He discovered a site, which I refused to look at. He only looked at the class we had for year one, since the draft was done.

Anyone who is on here knows Jared is a stand up guy, if he is calling someone out I needed to look at it. Granted what he has is fishy to say the least, I didn't go examine every ones picks. But someone hit on A prospects on 5 of 6 picks, the other was a B prospect. The fishy part is a middle round pick was on a guy was was rated overall below 50 and not at a premier position, but that guy happens to have an A potential.

I'm not naming anyone just yet, I want to give this person a day or two to respond, then I will PM them if they don't post something here. As to what i should do about this I am torn.

Let me just say this so it is official, you shouldn't be looking at a site that has all the draft classes and their potential. The only thing OF has in terms of "chance" is this hidden potential. I can't even believe I would need to make a rule about that considering the spirit for which this league is intended.

Wait a minute, so every draft class has already been predetermined by Madden, not just the first one? If so, WTF? That's got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard.

We talked about this back when we were watching those draft walkthroughs. It is a bizarre choice, and nobody seems to know how many draft classes there are.

Congrats on a great half of football. . .

The dreaded disconnect hit Zep and I in our game today. . .we've had to reschedule for the morning. . .

Unfortunately, we can't go with aggregate scoring as the Redskins were up 21-10 at half. . .

I don't know if there's something in the air or not with holidays/end of the year, but that's three disconnects in the past few days for online franchise games--it might be unfortunately worth everyone keeping that in mind. . .

I may regret posting this and the can of worms it could open but...

I spoke to the owner via PM, he assures me he did nothing wrong. I am going to take him at his word as I have no reason not to and we PM each other several times.

I am planning on doing nothing, the owner can continue (although he may feel unfairly attacked and I could see why) on in the league. I don't think he needs to be identified nor does he need to defend himself. I am hoping I've been vague enough to avoid that.

However I feel it necessary to document why this appeared odd to Jared and then to me for the league as a whole for a number of reasons, most of all so it's clear I am not attacking anyone.

I was also a tad off in my fist post as it was 4 A's and 1 B, he also had a C and an F.

We all know there is no real way to scout picks for the draft, your basically looking at their numbers and the whole potential thing is a crap shoot.

The player in question scored the following:

65 overall - A
73 overall - A
64 overall - B
43 overall - A
76 overall - A

Now take into account there were a total of 8 A potential players rated 76 or lower, so he hit on 4 of them. Still I wasn't concerned.

Now the part that made me scratch my head and to question this was the 43 overall A player above is a punter. I don't believe this punter was drafted in the 7th round either. Now i was told he was the only punter left and it was to fill a role. Considering there were and still are I believe 5 punters with better overall ratings it sure seemed odd to be using a draft pick on a 43 rated punter. That's when my radar went off.

This situation was explained to me and I honestly believe nothing was done against the spirit of the league. I just think he got lucky, how lucky is in question because...

The other part of the coin here is how important is potential. Will a 43 rise to an 80. I seriously doubt it. So that 43 may become a 70 and that 65 might become an 85. I don't think anyone knows the answer to this and I don't think it will effect the league much.

To be clear no action is being taken against the player, I DON'T WANT him attacked in this thread. PM me with concerns
