It could just be a placebo effect, but I like it. I won my first game, a close one over the Raiders. They've definitely fixed the flats some, and it was nice seeing the entire replay on a 68 yard catch and run by Heath Miller. The only real negative I had was that the replay for each of my 3 TDs was cut off after a split second (and no replays were shown for the Raiders 2 TDs). Not sure what caused the TD replays to get cut as I thought that was one of the things fixed. Either way, I'm looking forward to getting another couple of games in this weekend.

I heard that if backtrack is enabled it cuts off the TD replays. Testing is not a strong suit of Tiburon

Thanks, Dan...I believe I did have backtrack turned on. I'll flip it off and see if that works.

Unfortunately, that's not doing it, Dan...I'm at halftime against the Browns, and no replays (not even the split second ones) on any of my 3 TDs or the brownies' 1. I've had 2 short catch and long runs (pursuit angles still don't seem to be any better to me -- they still fall into single-file line and chase in unison) and a pick-6 and got no replays on any of 'em. I'll see what happens in the second half. I'd be curious to hear what others are experiencing.

Has nobody else tried the patch yet for PS3? I'm really curious to hear what others are experiencing with the replays. I have not played again since the weekend, but I did not see any replays on TDs when I switched off the backtrack, and had them get cut off after a split second when I had backtrack turned on. I'm hoping there's another setting I've overlooked that I can change to fix it. Thanks.

I don't think that many people are even playing it on PS3. When it drops for the 360, I'm sure you'll see lots more impressions.

I don't have any issues with instant replays. I get them frequently and they play out just fine as long as I'm not hitting the A button as soon as the play is over / before the replay kicks in. (on 360)

Thanks...actually, I'm talking about replays after TDs and, after a couple more games tonight, I still haven't seen a single one (with Backtrack off). I'm not really sure what if anything this patch did to change presentation. Other odd things I've noticed...coaches wearing short sleeve shirts in Pittsburgh for games during December, and still no time whatsoever to pick a guy to control on CPU field goals and extra points. After 2 patches, I guess it's safe to say that was a (curious) design decision.

I've played enough now to know that, if you liked the game before, you'll be happy now. But this patch isn't going to make any new converts to the Madden games from Tiburon.

Maybe just a coincidence but I had a controller throwing crapfest against the AI last night and was ready to put it up for sale and tonight with the patch had a defensive game with some actual strategy - a 10-7 game with 10 minute quarters in which the Cowboys looked pretty much like the Cowboys always look in December. I will see how the next few games play out, but Madden may start getting some more time as I finish up Assassin's Creed 2.

Like this patch much better than patch #1. The most obvious fix is rushing the QB. You can not only get to the QB much more realistically, but QBs react better. Playing against the Vikings in year 2 of my Bears franchise, Jason Campbell (the Vikes new QB) took off a few times when the pressure got to him. I still managed four sacks, on default All-Pro settings.

From what I saw on screens, flats coverage was considerably better too. I got nowhere with four screens I tried last night because the D came out to defend it.

The running hitch is also much, much better -- that was the worst thing about the first patch.

I wound up losing 14-13 despite giving up almost 250 yards to Peterson. The game seemed much more challenging offensively than before. Only one game, but so far I like what I see.

I'm almost thinking they tuned it TOO FAR as far as the pass rush, but I only have a single game test so far. I started a Packers franchise, and against the Bears in the opener I had 7 sacks of Cutler, and another 4 or 5 "duck passes".

One cool thing that I haven't seen (that I can recall) is a fumble by the QB when throwing instead of the duck pass. I ALWAYS saw the duck pass any time it was close, but last night I saw fewer duck passes because of more sacks, but also a fumble in that instance on each team.

I don't know if this was in the game pre-patch, because I've only played one previous game in the snow, but players were slipping on the field. QBs would momentarily lose their footing, and Devin Hester actually fell down trying to make a cut, leading to me throwing an interception (if it's in the game...).

As for pass rushing, pre-patch I had the CPU pass blocking turned down to 40. I could get coverage sacks, but blitzes with LBs rarely resulted in the LB getting through. That didn't seem to be the case as Nick Roach came flying through to get a pretty quick sack of Campbell.

One thing they need to fix is the kicking in cold weather. I lost when my last-second 35-yard field goal with Robbie Gould tipped just below the crossbar. The headwind was only 4 mph, I was dead in the middle of the field, and I had full power on the kick. I could see if something interfered with the kick, but in little wind and with no tipping, that kick should easily go 35 yards, even in the snow.

Are you guys seeing any replays on touchdowns on the 360? I'm still trying to figure out what's up with those. Thanks.

Things I've noticed:

+More sacks for CPU and me. Before this patch I had to have CPU Blocking down to 0 to even sniff a sack (avg 1 or 2 a game). I've had to put the slider back up to 40, or I'll get 5 or 6 a game easy.

+ or - Gameplay speed seems faster. Slow now feels like Normal Speed before patch.

+ Better CPU adjustments to plays that are called too often, especially in the flats.

---Still pissed about no signature sounds as they were promised several times before release and even when the patch notes were announced. Ian Cummings said he was "looking into it" and the "tech was there". Liar.

-Time of day, quick CPU FG attempts, still not fixed. I don't see how this could've taken much time to add.

This patch underdelivered IMHO. Too much time for too little fixed.

I've noticed a big difference in the way the game plays after this patch. Most of it is very subtle but the games feel more dynamic to me and less determined if that makes sense.

Rice (Balt) just had 149 yards against me by half time and only one of the runs was of the break too many tackles type and even that one wa a believable broken tackle run. Might have to bring down my sliders that were set to help the running game.

I've seen more (new)animations in 4 games i haven't seen in playing 50+ game before hand. I had to replay a run where the cpu RT blocked down on my end who was stunting inside he carried me right out of the hole with the most realistic looking block I have ever seen in a Madden game.

It's a lot of subtle stuff that granted should of been in at release but the game is a lot better IMO, still not perfect and I can see why if you didn't play a lot of Madden it would look the same but for me the game feels a lot better.

GT I've seen replays on about half of my TD's and I am getting about a half dozen other replays throughout the game. Still not enough IMO and a little pointless with no commentary attached to them but thought you would like to know.

Thanks, Dan. I'm not sure if it's a 360 vs PS3 thing, or if I have some setting turned off somewhere or what, but I still am not getting any replays on TDs (unless I turn backtrack on, in which case they get cut off after a split second). Thanks though for the info.

I have played 5 games post patch. One vs the CPU and four vs humans and I cant say for sure Ive noticed a difference. Maybe that flats are better covered? Thats just me though as I have trouble sometimes figuring out what defense Im in...

All I can say for sure is that Terry is really really good. Surprise!
He beat me so badly last night that after the game I actually felt bad for him.
He had to completely stop playing in the second half and baby sit me :P
Not only did he stop running his offense(He was intentionally falling down on break away TD runs) but he was explaining how to run and tackle.

Terry I dont care what I say about you ...you are a good guy. :)

What do you mean by having trouble sometimes figuring out what defense you're in? Are you calling your plays or allowing Madden call it for you?
