Just so I am clear here, if he drops the Cowboys, I definitely would want to switch teams. Hate to see anyone leave, but you obviously would prefer to use your favorite team if possible.TheGamer2 wrote:Eman I just imagine you waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming "SOMEBODY COVER WITTEN!!!"
Don't worry the Cowboys will be under new ownership after the playoffs.

Michael Turner absolutely humiliated the Bears with a dominating performance and Matt Ryan was able to hit several big play action passes to upset the Bears on their home turf.
The Falcons scored on every one of their possessions except that which ended the first half, and the Bears offense was unable to match that pace. Despite throwing the kitchen sink at Turner, including spying him with LB's, run blitzes, goal line sets and everything short of small arms fire, but were unable to stop the human Panzer from Northern Illinois.
The Bears offense was able to put together a few nice drives, but an early Cutler pick put them behind the 8-ball. The second half saw them throwing constantly to try to get back in the game, but the Bears receivers had a shockingly bad game with several key drops.
It was a good run for the Bears, but their defense finally laid an egg too large for the offense and special teams to overcome. The Falcons were an insatiable offensive machine.
Great game, Truth. I knew from our first encounter that Turner would be a problem, but I thought I could get Urlacher and Briggs to do the job. He just brushed aside tackle after tackle though. Good luck down the road. I'm headed to the draft room, where I will only be looking at the defensive side of the ball.

Congrats to the Bears on a great run. Atlanta is hitting on all cylinders right now. You either bring 8 in the box and risk giving up big pass plays, or lay back and watch Turner destroy your linebackers and safties.RobVarak wrote:Atlanta 35 - Chicago 14

It seems the Vikings are a team of destiny, but they'll have their hands full against Atlanta. Should be a dandy.

Great matchup. I was telling Truth during our game that I would love to see Turner's fat ass against the Williams brothers' fat asses.eman wrote:Congrats to the Bears on a great run. If there's a front 7 in the league that can stop him it's the Vikes.
It's incredibly frustrating to try and stop him. After the first half I matched him up with Briggs mano y mano, and Briggs is a very highly-rated run stopper. He was useless. No matter how conservatively I tackled, trying hard not to dive or strip or do anything that would jeopardize the tackle, he would just always beat the first tackler. Tommie Harris got run over like he was a 5'6" defensive back. If I could've brought a crowbar onto the field, I would have. LOL
My secondary was soundly whooped all season long, but I've been able to stop the run pretty well. Not Turner though. He ate me for lunch in both games. I think it's a combination of Truth's skill and karmic retribution for all the derogatory things I've said about NIU over the years.

I'd love to see that Vikings-Falcons game.

I was shocked to see the Bears go out more than the Titans win. The Titans I had seen in person and knew they had that in em. This was outta nowhere as I had also seen the Bears and didnt see em losing in the playoffs.eman wrote:Congrats to the Bears on a great run. Atlanta is hitting on all cylinders right now. It blew up my brackets as I had the Bears losing to the Raiders in a great Super Bowl.

Rob - Good game my man. What can I say about Turner? He has definitely been stopped a few times this season, Zep's Redskins come to mind, but he can most certainly break some one on one tackles...crowbar or no crowbar.
But like you mentioned, the early turnover on what looked like a drive you were going to tie it up at 7 all, and those dropped passes really hurt. I just hope my Defense can keep playing well and getting turnovers. Because it really is just a mediocre D.
Turner fears no front seven.

j/k

LOL If you go back and look at my last 3-4 human games you can see that it was only by virtue of turnovers and the ridiculously high scoring offense that I was hanging around. My D got shredded in games by the Rams, Eagles, Vikes etc., but managed to run and shoot past them. At least two of those wins were due in large part to the fact that the short quarters limited the number of times that my more methodical opponents could score.
That's not a recipe for long-term success.
In true Lovie style I will acknowledge none of this in public and stick to cryptic, idiotic non-statements for the duration of the off-season. And in tribute to Jerry Angelo I will draft only injured college players and small school speed demons with no actually football skills.

How about we do this.
Lets get through the Superbowl, then I'll have a final head count I hope on who is staying, leaving etc.
Then before we do anything else I'll give people the opportunity to switch.

I just wanted to post a couple things here:
1. I hope that the way our game went down didn't directly lead to bhoward leaving the OLF. It was definitely a frustrating experience, especially for what had been an amazing game up to that point. The Cowboys drove down the field on the first possession of the game to take a 7-0 lead. On the first play after the kickoff, TJack threw a TAINT that gave Dallas a 14-0 lead.
The Vikings were able to claw back, getting a touchdown on a long drive to pull within 7. Dallas, however, wouldn't be stopped and scored again to take a 21-7 lead. I thought that if I could score a td to pull within 7 at the half I got the ball to start the 3rd and could pull even. It didn't work, though, as I was forced to settle for a field goal. Dallas had a little less than a minute left before the half but threw an interception on their first play that led to another Minnesota field goal before the half.
The Vikings got the ball to start the 2nd half down by 8 and proceeded to have a Bataan Death March of a drive that led to a touchdown. The 2-point conversion tied the game just before the end of the 3rd quarter.
Dallas got the ball back and started to drive. Part of me was concerned that I wasn't going to have enough time on the clock if they scored, but the Vikings defense laid a crushing blow on Marion Barber, causing a fumble and giving the ball back to the Vikings offense. They drove down the field running time off the clock and lined up for a winning 45 yard field goal with 2 seconds left...which they missed.
Overtime started with the Vikings getting the ball and then the disco happened on the first play of overtime with Chester Taylor looking at a lot of daylight down the left sideline. Minnesota ended up winning on a long touchdown pass to Bobby Wade.
2. The other thing I wanted to address is the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings are very much looking forward to facing Michael Turner. They're even more excited about the fact that both Brett Favre and Adrian Peterson will be back in the lineup.

Badger, decision was made well prior to our game, so it had nothing to do with it. Was an extremely fun game. I hate that I called a time out near the end of the 1st half, when it was clear you were going to just run the clock and settle for the FG. Ultimately, it left time on the clock, 34 seconds I believe. I wasn't likely to march down the field and score anyway, but when I threw the interception, you were already in fg range. So instead of being up 21-10, we went in at 21-13. Which you capitalized on in the 3rd quarter. Not taking anything away from you, but that was a horrible decision on my part. Good game and congrats. good luck in the Champ game.Badger_Fan wrote: I hope that the way our game went down didn't directly lead to bhoward leaving the OLF.

I don't understand why you don't run whatever defense you want to run with the team that you have. This is a franchise, get the players you need to run your 4-3. Am I crazy? Make the team your own.Badgun wrote:the Colts do have a 4-3ScoopBrady wrote:The Colts don't run a base 3-4, right? I'm assuming they still run some variant of the Tampa 2 despite Dungee retiring. It's the beer talking, for sure.
But if you are leaving the Ravens, can you trade me Ed Reed before you go?
