Tried the CM demo - it's still crap.JRod wrote:Read Four Four Two's review of Champ Man and they gave it high marks. Wow didn't see that coming.
Still I'll take FM.
feedback on the forums is also poor

Cool, now it's even more realistic as one season in FM will now last as long as the real one.

What I meant, Squid, was that now the addition of extra analysis tools etc means that it takes me even longer before and after a match to continue. I bought the full version on Saturday, played for about 2 and a half hours of a new game and have only played one game of the Premiership season (MCFC 1 Fulham 1), bought no players and not really gone into any wild tactics.
The interface with the tabs at the top is a massive upgrade though, and I like the staff meeting stuff.

Good point, and it's actually easier to work out how to tell them to do that as well. Most of the changes seem to be around the interface navigation rather than anything deeper within the mechanics.
Nice to see the crowd making an appearance as well.

I've only played a few games, and some of my struggles may relate to the fact that I've bought it on Steam and hence don't have a paper manual, but, and these are relatively minor
- I can't work out how to put my AM in charge of training
- the little symbols beneath players on the team selection screen were initially confusing
- 3d match is occasionally slow (when players are ambling over to take corners, etc), though in general the engine is much improved.
I think most of it is to do with not thinking about where options were in FM09, and using the help menus for a while until you know where they are now. But overall, a lot of things seem more intuitive.

It's been a two or three years since I've played an FM game, and I grabbed FM 2010. Man, the amount of detail and data is overwhelming. It almost melts the brain to play the game.
I enjoy the new layout, with the tabs and helper boxes. More intuitive than I thought it would be.
But I guess I'm not so dialed into footie that I want to sift through this much data to play a game. CM 01/02 was just right for me: Have the AM handle training, and I would pick a team, handle tactics and transfers. That's all I really want to do.
FM 2010 seems to be an incredibly detailed, realistic game, especially for the hardcore. I just don't know if I want to handle all of that or if I have the footie knowledge to do it.
Take care,
PK

Not a bad idea. Where would I get that?fsquid wrote:I usually just download a training schedule from the internet and I handle the tactics and transfers just like you mentioned.
Thanks,

Anatomy of a City match in FM10 (MCFC v Sunderland)
Goal ! Adebayor (10)
Goal ! Adebayor (54)
....time to look at me subs and..
Oh bugger
Goal ! Reid (56)
....spend last 10 minutes in our own area while I put my hands over my eyes
