First off, I'm sorry to hear about your kitten, Pk.

We have a 7 year old yellow lab. We got her when she was 12 weeks old and it was a birthday present for my wife (who at the time was just the girlfriend). It was an impulse purchase but one that we were so very happy to have made.

I don't know about the rest of you, but once we had kids Zoe suddenly became less human and more of just the "dog". She's got some separation anxiety or jealousy...call it what you will, but she'll shred paper and kleenex, will jump on the counter and take food off of the counter and the table. She's not to the point of being a nuisance and lot of what she gets into is our fault, but damn I just feel like more of a caretaker for her now. We have to worry about her barking if someone rings the doorbell (in fear she'll wake up our son or daughter).

I do feel bad for her as she no longer gets the attention she once did for the first five years of her life, but the kids have taken over the priorities for obvious reasons. I was one of those people that thought nothing would change when we had children...Zoe would always remain our baby, but now she is scolded more than she is praised.

If anything, Pk's story enlightened me about the life of a pet. They are part of your family, however good and bad their behavior is. We just need to be a bit more understanding of her feelings. I don't want to lose her in the next few years and have that guilt I ignored her and didn't appreciate her love.

Oh well......my nose is running and my eyes are watering. Damn allergies.

I should be in tonight if my son stays asleep. He's had a terrible time teething and has been restless at night to say the least.

Just to reiterate, I will most likely be online this evening. However, after chatting with the wife, it seems she's had a long day with both kids. If everything goes as plan, my son will be in bed by 8. However, it's my daughter (8 weeks old) who might pose a little difficulty if I'm asked to hold her. It should work out though.......*crosses fingers*

Wow that's some response!

So far I count 11 (including myself) who definitely want in, and 5 'maybes' (one of whom is JamesE of the magic connection).

I can only host 6 total, so I'm no good for that. If JamesE is in, then 12 of us should be able to fit in on his server. Or we could split into 2 smaller groups if there are two who can host 7 or 8.

Any ideas?

2 smaller groups might be the way to go. I can host 6 or so, although according to Comcast I should now have double the speed(but somehow my connection seems worse, go figure). I will try to post the current driver ratings of DSP members. Maybe we can have a beginners and experts league or something like that.

Gman, I can identify with you there. Nothing worse than stalking someone in SC then hearing the little one wailing over the monitor LOL

Teething is fun, but it makes for jittery online gaming :)

Provo:

Teddy was on the short list -- it takes up one hand -- of dogs that I liked. Come on, he was a friendly beer keg with legs. How could you not like that?

Ted was awesome.

Take care,
PK

I can't seem to connect to XBL for some reason. Guess I'm out, unless I can fix it.

Have fun!

Great racing fellas. Sorry I had to bail out early. I usually don't eat dinner till around 7 or so, so I had to push it back to 8. That was a blast though...

12 DSPers...gotta love our little community here.

Yeah, great fun last night. James, your connection absolutely rocks! I have upstream envy. I made some calls yesterday and the cheapest I can get a 512 upstream here in Huntsville, AL is $400 /mo.

LOL! My DSL connection, at 2.7Mbps down 650Kbps upstream is costing me a whopping $34.95 CANADIAN per month!

Super cooled telephone wire = super conductors due to the Canadian cold I guess.

Sorry I missed it, fellas. Sounds like mega fun.

I logged on to xbox.com and checked my Friends list. I saw 12 guys playing TOCA 2, including JamesE, and put 2+2 together, figuring James was playing host to a 12-man scrap!

As Arnie said, "I'll be back." Probably tonight.

Take care,
PK
