If Donnie Moore created these guys as "MadScientist" says, I wonder if they are based off real life college players? Can names be edited?

Nope.

They created draft classes just like they did for Head Coach. I think which class you get is random but the class players stay together. In other words some drafts might be QB heavy and other WR heavy etc.

Of course this is what they did for offline, my assumption is it works the same for online but I don't know for sure.

The guys 3rd pick was a QB #15 named Tim Tribow. :D I'm sure there are some real collegians scattered around in the different classes, but that one is pretty blatant. I think in 08 or 09 one of the Madden created rookies was named Brett Farr. If its supposed to be random, Moore doesn't hide his real life players very well.

edit** oh yeah Tribow's from Florida as well

Broncos see any playoff hopes go out the window as they could do nothing in Indy. It was a very odd game, couple of big plays by Indy and some real weird turn overs by me. I didn't save any replays because I ddin't feel good before the game started and feel worse now :)

As long as I play Denver I will struggle, I am a running player and this team can't run (even though they can in real life) and apparently can't pass protect either as CB worked against me all night. I also can't see how anyone can play an effective 3-4 defense, hats off to anyone who can because it's not me.

Good game badgun.

Oh and in their infinite wisdom Ea put a 30 minute delay on advancing weeks so my little experiential draft is going to take days of me simming to even get to that point as I have no intention of turning on madden every 30 minutes to advance a week.

Friday Night Football Returns to Nashville

Post by tmdba37 »

The Titans win a barn burner against the hard-luck Rams, 21-17.

In a game that featured long drives and no punts, the Rams nearly took a late lead twice in the 4th Quarter. . .

From the Three Yard Line with under 30 seconds to go, Stephen Jackson took a handoff and looked certain to find paydirt, but the Titans used their "super-secret" swarm technique to inexplicably both tackle him and cause a fumble at the line of scrimmage. . .

Luckily for the Rams, Alex Barron, their LT, picked it up. . .take 2. . .

From the Five Yard Line and about 20 seconds left, Bulger dropped back to pass and was late getting the ball out to Donnie Avery, who had a monster game 6 rec. for 102 Yards and a TD. The ball tracked right into CB Nick Harper's arms and the hopes and dreams of Rams Nation were once again stomped on at the last second (I told XXXIV that his string of bad luck at end of games has to be some sort of statistical anomaly)

Earlier in the game, the Titans took a 14-10 Lead into the half after getting TDs from Chris Johnson on the ground and LenDale White through the air--this TD was setup by a fumble recoverd by Courtland Finnegan.

A key play of the half and the game though was the Titans D keeping the Rams out of the endzone right before halftime. A tough decision for XXXIV and the Rams, looking at the endzone with 15 seconds left and no time outs, they decided to go with the 23 Yard FG and I can't blame him one bit. . .

In the 3rd Quarter, Rams LB Chris Draft made the play of his life leaping and intercepting Kerry Collins in the backfield--this INT set up a 55 yard Rams TD Drive with Stephen Jackson capping it off with a 1 YD TD Plunge. The run of 10 unanswered points led to a 17-14 Rams lead. . .

The Titans came back in the 4th and got a clutch 37 yard pass to Chris Johnson on a third and 12 to extend what would be their winning TD Drive capped by the second Collins to White TD Pass of the day (21 Yards)

So Nick Harper and the lucky Titans D go to bed happy with two turnovers and the win and they now look forward to Miami coming to town next week.

The Rams try to shake off the bitter taste of coming up again on the short end of the stick of an incredibly well played game as they go back to St. Louis to host the Houston Texans. . .

Final in Atlanta : Falcons 35 - Saints 14

The Falcons wanted to make up for a Sim loss earlier in the year to the Saints and prove their dominance the division (hehe). This game was all about Michael Turner...he set a new NFL single game rushing record with 345 yards on just 24 carries. Turner also rushed for 5 touchdowns. He couldn't be stopped.

Falcons scored first on a two play drive (two runs by Turner), but the Saints came right back with Brees finding open receivers to tie it up 7-7 after one quarter.

Second quarter saw the Falcons chew up most of the clock on one drive capped by this tough 4 yard run from Turner.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Saints came right back again with Brees on fire and scoring in a whopping 56 sec drive; hitting Colston with a 44 yard td pass. The Falcons got in a position to kick a 48yd FG to end the half, but the kick came up way short (even with full power on the meter) which left the coach scratching his head. End of half all tied at 14.

Falcons got the ball to start the 3rd and wasted little time with Turner taking a second down run for 60 to set up his his third TD of the day; a four yard scamper off the left side.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The two teams then played a little defense on the next few series with each team stopping the other on fourth down plays. The Falcons then got back on track with Turner scoring his 4th touchdown on this 15 yard beauty.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

After stopping the Saints once again on their next possession, and the Falcons coach knowing Turner was oh so close to setting the new record he continues to call Turners number. And Turner came through with this record setting 79yd romp for a touchdown with under a minute to play.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The Falcons (8-5) have a tough road game next week in New York squaring off against the Jets.

Good game man. It's a shame that we are still using the early rosters because Denver is an 85 now versus the 70 that they are in our roster. Moreno and Orton have both received big ratings bumps in the last few weeks.

I wish EA was able to do the same thing with Madden that they do with NBA Live with the DNA thing. If your player's ratings go up they go up in the game, so your ratings are always up to date with how your players are performing in real life.

It sucks that you got locked into one of the worst teams in the league and teams like the Titans and Patriots are still rated high off of last year's ratings.

Great game!!! Hard fought and well earned victory. Sweet D call to finish it. Very well played as the the teams combined for zero punts and only three turnovers total. Enjoyed it....Well most of it  . I dont think its bad luck as much I think its EA keeping the Rams in their place. :P

This game was a perfect example of why 8 minutes is too short. Not counting the two plays to end the halves we had 5 and 4 possesions the entire game.

Good luck the rest of the way to you and your Titans Todd. Again that was a blast to play.

The Rams :?: The Rams  The Rams  ...As my father would say 'It no look too good. Try better'

Jets over the Bucs 52-20 on a rainy Sunday. They actually moved the ball pretty well against me.

34-yard TD run by Washington in the first quarter:

Eagles 17 - Giants 14

For the second straight week the Giants would lose a divisional game on a 4th quarter field goal.

It was a long walk back to their cars for the Giants faithful on a cold and dreary night in East Rutherford as the Giants playoff hopes were all but extinguished by the rival Eagles. Having entered their bye week at 6-3, the Giants have dropped 3 of 4 since to fall to the bottom of their division.

In a game that would see the Eagles convert an incredible 11 of 14 3rd downs and maintain possession of the football for an astounding 29 of 32 minutes, both teams began the night demonstrating how *not* to tackle.

Facing 3rd and 12 from deep in Giants territory to end the first, Donovan McNabb would find Brian Westbrook for the game's first score.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

Eli Manning would use one minute of his three to find Hakeem Nicks for this return tally.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The teams would then trade scores including this strike to Steve Smith.

<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>

The score would remain 14-14 until Philadelphia would break the deadlock on a 25yard field goal by Akers that started the 4th quarter.

From there, like last week, the Giants offense would go cold, mustering only a pair of 3-and-outs, featuring 3 drops by Giants receivers.

The Giants continue their season in Washington in week 15 while the Eagles look to strengthen their playoff push at home against the lowly 49ers.

Yikes!! Well, I expect this should put an end to the talk of Matt Forte being overrated...as well as his bid for the rushing title. :)

I really don't want to see him in the playoffs, as my attempts to stop him in our earlier meeting were comical at best.

G7, good game - we started the night fighting for our playoff lives so it was a tense game. Once again I got a few more breaks than you. The TOP was astounding - until I checked the stats I had no idea it was that lopsided. McNabbs legs were the difference and adds a tough dimension to defend.

After several tough weeks I finally get the CPU 9ers before finishing the season against Danimal and BHoward. I need to run the table to ensure a playoff spot.

Michael Turner is a beast. I dumped 8 in the box pretty much all game to corral him. I did the same against Brandon Jacobs this week. Trouble is I'm giving up too many big pass plays. I need to find a way to stop the run without giving up the homerun.

I guess John Lennon was right when he said that instant karma is going to get you. I was up 14-7 against the Lions with 1 minute left in the half and I disconnected from the EA servers. I have no desire to play this one again so feel free to sim it Danimal.

The Houston Texans beat the Seattle Robohawks 28-7. Texans RB Steve Slaton rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown while receiver Andre Johnson hauled in five passes for 70 yards, including his eleventh touchdown of the season. While Seattle's Matt Hasselbeck was an astounding 14 of 15, the Seahawks never really got in an offensive rhythm, managing just six first downs and holding onto the ball for seven minutes. Cornerback Marcus Truffant was Seattle's best offensive weapon, picking off two passes and returning on for a touchdown.

Controversy erupted later after the game, when Coach Brando was seen at a Houston Hooters with NFL prospect Jamarion Bellows. Witnesses say that the coach was seen not only buying wings for Bellows, but sliding him a paper bag across the table. Coach Brando denied any wrongdoing, saying that Bellows paid for his own wings and that the bag was empty. "We were just simulating what it would be like if he was on the Texans," Coach Brando said. "We pay all our players in paper bags full of money, because the only way people will play for this God-forsaken team is if we pay them in cash. I was just demonstrating our payroll system for Jamarion."

Brando, the scary thing is, since there's no way of knowing what draft class we will get, what if Jamarion doesn't exist in our franchise reality. Will he and the cash just vaporize away. Something to think abut.

Let's shoot for 9 PM Eastern on Tuesday night. I may just throw two interceptions on my first two passes to get my turnovers out of the way :D
