Ahhh very true about story time. But, it's great practice for those who are beginning readers or love a story before bedtime.

Ok, enough of that chatter.

I'm up to Chapter 4 and I had to tell myself to shut down the game for the evening. Here are my quick takes:

- The environments are such a step up from the first. Graphically, I can't wait to see what the next scene is going to look like. Impressive can't even describe how beautiful this game is.

- I'm captivated by the story more so than Drake's Fortune. It just seems deeper and the characters in the story are more well rounded. I could do without Chloe's voice acting. It's a little rough for how attractive she is. :)

- Everything feels familiar in terms of controls, but the stealth attacks while simplistic, really add to the game. Additionally, it does make you stop and think whether or not you should go in with guns blazing or take someone out quietly. Or for that matter, not take anyone out at all. Love this addition.

- There tend to be more cut scenes but they just flow very well with the game. The voice acting is top notch.

- I'm playing on normal, and that's just fine with me. Not too hard, but still quite a challenge. I think the majority of the seasoned gamers on here might want to bump up the difficulty.

- From everything I have read, the story really takes off around Chapter 6. I'm already super impressed and have caught myself on a few occasions saying "woa", "wow", "damn that was cool". So, I can't wait to see what's around the corner.

- Overall, this game just feels like it was given a boost in terms of game play, story, and graphics. Drake's Fortune was fun, exciting, and looked superb, but this truly plays out like a cinematic adventure. So far, it's been one heck of a ride and I don't want it to stop.

Same here, and I find that the AI offers enough toughness and variety keeping me on my heels.

Ditto ditto ditto. I had to force myself to go to bed at the start of Chapter 8 and honestly i wanted to keep playing. This game was well worth the wait and is an absolute total package. I'm totally sucked in and cannot wait to get back at it tomorrow.

FYI, i too am playing on Normal and find it more than a challenge. Hell, it took me about 10 tries just to wipe out those unarmed guards in the museum at the start of the game!! 8O

Graphically speaking it's the best looking game that I played 360 or PS3.

I'm with you guys...super super game so far. The last one is my favorite non-sports game this gen...maybe ever! I can't wait to get at it again tonight.

I was with Zeppo that the first couple of levels were a little bit of a snooze, but yes, thankfully it picked up and I'm loving it now, maybe 7 chapters in. Some of the banter is surprisingly pretty entertaining.

I thought the opening of the game was simply amazing. First time in any video game (even with playing the first Uncharted) that I really and truly felt like I was PLAYING a movie.

The true test of a great game.........i was headed out the door to work this morning along with my girls to school and wife to her job. I turned back because i forgot something and they left. I walked past my PS3 and said "hey, let me see if i can get one more chapter in." Three chapters later and i was 40 minutes late to work. I'm sucked in something fierce to this one. It's very possible i may be done with the single player of this game before the weekend is out. I've NEVER finished a game in less than a week before.

To piggy back on the dialogue, it is very well done and often times very funny. Without ruining anything, make sure you're jumping in pools of water if you see one. The snippets of discussions between "him and her" are entertaining.

Ditto, I loved the intro it just sucked me straight into the story like no other game. I kept saying to myself, they'll make a flick out of this very soon called 'The adventures of Nathan Drake' starting Tom Cruise? (Or fill in the blanks).

The Melee attacks are nicely done and it's better than the first game. Square button does it but try using the triangle button for counter/dodge attacks for more varied fights and it leads you to some great cinematic fistcuffs. Stealth attack feels very satisfying and the cover system is just perfect. Feels like Gears in that way.

Superb game thus far, really glad I pimped the first one so much to so many people now :)

I'm trying to pace myself as I finished the first one in 3 days. I don't know if it's the best graphical game I've ever seen on either system as someone suggested but in terms of atmosphere this game drips of it. It really is like your playing a movie.

The sound track and effects are amazing. I have a 7.1 system in my theater room and when a few things dropped out from under me in the first part of the game I literally jumped.

Is it worth even trying the MP? I really don't do MP on the PS3 it's such a cluster screw but if you guys say its good I will give it a go.

This is easily the greatest overall gaming experience i've ever had. Everything from top to bottom is outstanding and the story has me itching to "play just a little more" to see what happens next. I'm already through Chapter 19 and man have things picked up. Great great stuff. I have no idea how people play this on Hard or whatever the toughest level is when unlocked, but for the first time with any game i am debating giving it a try once i get through it on Normal.

I have to say that while the game is outstanding, the overall controls leave a bit to be desired for me. Specifically the 'taking cover' controls.

Specifically the 'taking cover' controls.
Intersting you say that Spook. I had a similar attitude early on in the game, but once i realized it was very GOW-esque i learned how better to implement them and have grown more comfortable. But i do agree that at certain times i have issues with moving in and out of cover...namely when i want to "release" from one place and get into cover in another as i find myself tumbling and ending up in the middle of gunfire as i stand upright where i was hoping to be tucked in safely behind something.

Good point. More than a few times last night, I got a little frustrated with the controls. When I thought I was in "cover" I was actually standing getting shot. Another time, I felt stuck to the wall and didn't move as swiftly as I hoped from one spot to the next. Sometimes the camera gets a little turned around, and it can be a little disorientating. I do find that I can only play a couple hours until I feel just a little light headed due to all the action taking place on screen.

Those gripes aside, this is by far my most enjoyable gaming experience ever.

The examples you guys used are EXACTLy what I'm referring to. Not taking away from my enjoyment but thought I'd mention it. I just wish they were a tad tighter. They are GoW-esque in thoery but not nearly as tight in execution.

The cover system does seem to deteriorate as you progress especially in tight gun battles. The first five chapters was sticking like glue, but it does seem to not work as well in the later chapters.

HO-LY Crap. Wait until you guys get up into the 20's (chapters). There are some very intense moments. Unfortunately the cover system we just discussed does rear it's ugly head a bit, but not to the point of decreasing the WOW factor.

Well that moment has come. Every free second i've had has been spent playing this game (including popping it in last night at 10:30 for a 30 minute session and looking at the clock read 1:00am when i went to bed) and now i am a chapter and a half away from finishing it and I DON'T WANT IT TO END!!

First game ever that has roped me in to this degree. The big question becomes is it worth holding onto after i finish it tonight or do i sell it off while i can still get a decent amount and buy something new (Demon's Souls if i can find it or NBA Live, put money toward COD). Supposedly the credits infer that there will be some DLC, but that is likely a ways away and there are a slew of new games that will be out by the time that happens.

I have Flashpoint that i haven't even put in the tray yet so i'm not sure once this is finished if i'll actually play the MP or run through it again. Internal struggle over a video game. Pathetic.

I only had a chance to play for 2 and 1/2 hours or so last night, but considering I've never beaten a game before, I know this will be the first one that's able to keep me interested the whole way through (without getting stuck somewhere along the way and just giving up).

It sure makes me wonder why sports games (with the possible exception of The Show) don't have presentation values anywhere near this good, even if only during the cut scenes.

Finished the first two chapters and I am astonished at the production quality. Great opening and I love the structure of the story. The script and voice acting are also superb and perfect for this type of game. It's going to be hard not to rush through this.
