Nozzle I think it's you and I this next game. It's actually a huge game since I have a 1 game lead in the division with a win over the Browns already. A win for you and we're tied in every way, a win for me and I take a stranglehold on the division with a 2 game lead and 2 wins over you. I'm free Thursday and Friday nights after 10:30 pm central. If those don't work for you give me some times and I'll see what I can do.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Great write up Brando! I really enjoyed the game...probably my best offensive performance of the season. The downside is I lost Addai for the season so I need to pick up a decent half back. Donald Brown will suffice as the starter but I'm gonna need a better back up than Mike Hart.

Anyway, great game and I have no doubt you would have beaten me had I not run that kick off back...you had all the momentum.

Ok so I need some help.

How in the f*** do you set up a 3-4 defense in the depth chart in Madden. Would it kill them to make this clear?

I realized last game I don't have all my best people out there. But for the life of me I can't figure out how it is pulling people from the depth chart.

I assume the 3 are 1st Re, 1st DT, 1st LE

I assume the 4 our 1st ROLB, 1st MLB, 2nd MBL, 1st LOLB

Is that a correct assumption?

Yes but then sometimes you'll find your LOLB assigned as an MLB in quarter coverage or something.

I haven't found any rhyme or reason for some of their position swaps other than the fact that the player that's on the team in that position in REAL LIFE plays that position in the formation's sub package.

So it makes no sense if you get any new players or something--they seem to be mixed and matched around at random.

I'm almost positive that is correct. Basically it's the same as the way the 4-3 is set up, except the DT has one guy on the field and the MLB spot has two. I think the starters logic is also the same as the DT, with the first ILB on the left and the second on the right.

That's too bad about Addai, but at least Brown appeared to be very effective.

Really was a fun game. A ton of drama in the second half.

All the more reason you should be able to set the depth chart per formation and not the quick interface they have.

Thanks for confirming this for me anyway guys.

The Dolphins defeated the Patriots 35-12. The Dolphins went out to an early lead thanks to a 15 yard TD reception by Ricky Williams and a 17-yard TD catch by Ted Ginn. The Patriots actually had more TOP than the Dolphins in the game, but couldn't turn this into touchdowns. Two drives that culminated in Patriot field goals lead to a 21-6 halftime lead for the Dolphins. In the second half, Miami finished a long drive with a 5 yard Ricky Williams touchdown run. The Dolphins iced the game on a Vontae Davis interception return for a touchdown. Williams, the man of the match, had 10 carries for 101 yards, 2 receptions for 25 yards, and two touchdowns. Ronnie Brown was injured during the game; but fortunately the injury wasn't serious and he will be available for next week's match against the Bucs.

Hmmm tomorrow night MIGHT work. Its a little late for me (2330) and I have to work a double the next day BUT I may try it. Lets tentatively shoot for tomorrow. If not, I am off Saturday and Sunday and could make time either day I am sure.

Yea way to put the pressure on. It's not bad enough I got my ass handed to me once by the CPU you. And Jamal Lewis is still out. I am screwed!

The Chargers (MacMan858) and the Giants (GameSeven) play an epic defensive struggle in the Meadowlands and wind up with a close game that came down to a late pick to give the G-men their 6th win, 17-14.

Game Recap

The Chargers struck first late in the first quarter after Rivers connected with Antonio Gates who rumbled and stumbled his way 41 yards for the score.

The Giants would return the favor halfway through the second quarter as Eli Manning scrambled away to his right and then through back across the field to a well covered Boss who smashed his way into the end-zone.

The Chargers put together a defensive stand at the 3 yard line and sacked Manning for a 6 yard loss. On the next play they tackled Jacobs for a 3 yard loss and managed to hold the Giants to a Matt Stover FG.

As the third quarter winded down it was all LT to finish off the quarter with back to back huge runs. The first was a 14 yard gain to the right side and the second and final play of the 3rd quarter was a massive 50 yard run to the left that resulted in a score and put the Chargers up 14-10 going into the fourth.

Tensions were high as both teams felt like they had a chance to walk away with the win. The Giants started off the quarter with a huge Eli Manning INT (user pick BTW!) as he attempted a long bomb downfield to Nicks The Chargers however couldn't do ANYTHING with the gift and after two HUGE holding calls after getting first downs they had to punt the ball back to New York. The Giants wouldn't make the same mistake twice. After Manning took the ball out of bound for a 9 yard loss he would then connect with Nicks for 7 yards and then the big man Brandon Jacobs for a 68 yard run to the Chargers 5 yard line. Jacobs then finished off his massive gain with a 4 yard and then a 1 yard run for the score. Giants 17-14.

Things were getting more intense as the potent Charger offense took to the field with 1:25 left in regulation. Rivers first hit LT for a 14 yard pass. Then went back to him again for another 7 yard gain. With 55 seconds left on the clock LT took the handoff on 2nd and 3 and with a 4 yard gain got the first down. Unfortunately this would be his final play of the game as he was injured and had to sit out the remainder on the sidelines (typical freakin LT!!!!). Sproles then came onto the field for the injured #21 and was used immediately as Rivers connected with him for a 6 yard gain with 32 seconds left to go. This was it. The Chargers were looking fearsome as they stormed down the field and were now setting up at the NYG 39yd line. The very next play Rivers looked downfield and threw a bullet to the Antonio Gates to try and get the Chargers into FG range. Second year SS Kenny Phillips had other plans however and made an epic tipped interception to end the Chargers chances once and for all.

Final Score: NYG 17 - SDG 14

------
Fun game GameSeven. Things got pretty hectic there at the end. GL going forward!

After talking to the other committee members I had no choice but to remove the Saints owner from the league. This was due to a number of things, as commish the last thing I want to do is field the same PM every week which was along the lines of "trying to reach Saints owner and he hasn't responded" I had to do this on at least 4 occasions.

I'd also be lying if I said last weeks incident didn't bother me, not for the fact that their was a connection issue, but the fact the owner waited to the last day to respond to another owner who was trying to reach him for 3 days. That was followed up with him not playing his game against the CPU this week and also making no effort to replace 2 starters, one of which was Reggie Bush who were both lost for the season.

When you add all that up it looks like someone who is not into the league no matter what is sent to me in PM or posted here. I'm posting this note here for him to see as well as the rest of the league.

If this impacts anyone's decision on how the league is run then I am sorry, but I did seek the opinion of the 3 other members helping me with this kind of thing. I'm doing this for fun, I would of been just as happy with a 4 man OF, so I really don't like having to do this.

Thanks and the week was advanced.

Good recap, Mac. That was definitely an exciting game. The first few possessions ended in 3 and outs as a result of feeling out the opposition. Then, as you said, we traded drives for scores before LT put on his show in the third quarter.

It almost seemed that settling for the FG after 1st and goal at the 2 was going to cost me, but the Giants would be given new life by the *crucial* pair of holdings called against you in the fourth. Finally, Jacobs' big run was YAC after beating the rush on a screen. He picked up a key Hixon block before rumbling down within the five.

Still, you were seemingly headed for at least a tie at the end of regulation and had crossed into my territory, needing maybe 20 yards for a game-tying FG try. Finally on the game-securing INT, Rivers was forced to throw with a defender in his face and the circus grab by Phillips let me breathe again.

Great game and good luck, too.

I've got some highlights but I'm too beat to upload them right now. Tomorrow most likely.

I think you did the right thing and I agree with you that it just looks like he wasn't into the league enough for it to make him commit to playing games in a timely manner.

Also, if I haven't said this before...thank you for putting this together and thank you for the time that you have invested in it.

Dan, I respect what you've decided and Mark certainly wasn't the easiest to get a hold of, often waiting until the last minute to play his games.

However, until the latest case with the connection problem he had gotten all his games in.

I also don't intend to air it here, but will PM something to Danimal about a personal matter that has consumed a lot of his time.

That said, I am completely fine with the decision for the betterment of the league, but would appreciate it if the matter were closed without any further reinforcement...

 .....My heavy CPU scheduled season continues...Though I guess thats a good thing as human players seem to be able to find the Rams weaknesses...Playing football for one.

In answer to terry's power rankings question...Hell yeah I can lose to the CPU Saints. Every game is a God damn challenge with these clowns. :D

Cincinnati 23
Pittsburgh 13

4 ints in the first half by Ben Roethlisberger allows Cincinnati to take a 20-0 lead into halftime. Pittburgh finally scores early in the 4th quarter to pull within 13 but the Bengals get a field goal on their next drive to up their lead by 16. Steelers score a td with just until 2 minutes to go and fail on the two point conversion. Onside kick is recovered by the Bengals and they are able to run out the clock.

Willie Parker had another decent day on the ground with 12 carries for 84 yards. Roethlisberger finishes 13 for 29 with 200 yards, 1 td and 4 ints. For the Bengals Palmer was 13 for 20 with 221 yards, 1 td and 1 int. The Bengals take on the Raiders in Oakland next week while Pittsburgh travels to Kansas City.

Raiders 34, Chiefs 0

Oakland made good on its promise to run all over the Chiefs, rushing 37 times for 222 yards and 3 TD's on the day.

Darren McFadden carried the load with 21 carries for 160 yards and all 3 scores.

Michael Bush added 15 carries for 66 yards in the 2nd half after the game was out of reach. Bush faced constant 8 and 9 man fronts as he wore down the Chiefs defense.

JaMarcus Russell was efficient with a QB rating of 115.3, completing 7 of 11 passes for just 79 yards and a TD.

Matt Cassel wasn't nearly as good, with 8 completions on 20 attempts for 126 yards and 3 interceptions with a 22.1 rating.

Larry Johnson of the Chiefs carried the rock 11 times for 63 yards, but was the forgotten man in the offense once the Chiefs were down 17-0.

Oakland will host the 3-6 Bengals next week, while the winless Chiefs take their 0-9 record into battle at home against the 3-6 Steelers.
