Showtime boxing announcer Nick Charles, formerly with CNN, is ill with advanced cancer:

Bummer. I hope he can win by knockout.

Take care,
PK

FINALLY! A major PPV fight with a very solid undercard!

http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-a ... ard-slate/

This card might be worth $50 to me. Judah, Katsidis and John-Juarez rematch all before PBF and JMM. Tempting!

Take care,
PK

Prediction:

Mayweather by TKO 10-12 or decision.

But man, oh, man: I wish Marquez would kick Money's ass! Not going to happen, though. Mayweather is too fast, big and strong. Marquez is a blown-up lightweight and hasn't been hit by a true welterweight.

Can't wait for this fight! Great undercard, too.

Take care,
PK

Ditto PK. I wish Marquez could score the big upset but I just don't see it against Mayweather quickness. He'll come out swinging not doubt but in the end Floyd will prevail in 12 rounds.

Marquez never has been knocked out in his illustrious career. I hope Floyd isn't the first to achieve the feat.

Marquez already has a spot reserved in Canastota. But if he pulls off the upset tonight, he will rival Julio Cesar Chavez as the most legendary Mexican fighter of all time.

Go JMM!

Take care,
PK

Id LOVE to see Marquez get the win. Floyd's act has worn thin over the years.

Katsidis always wears that mask into the ring. He's one of the toughest motherf*ckers in worldwide boxing. Doesn't have immense talent, his best defense is his chin, and he cuts like Jerry Quarry. But what heart.

I LOVE Katsidis. If that dude is fighting, I'm watching.

You bet it is, dude.

sop://211.152.36.37:3912/60341

That's the Sport.ro feed. Running it externally through the VLC Player, and you can get a picture of about 4" x 4" without much blurring.

I'm going to wake up my 8-year-old son for the main event. Told him if he went to bed early that I would wake him up for the main event. We won't tell my wife -- our little secret. :)

The lad LOVES boxing. :) :) :) It's funny: My best friend was in town last week, and we were watching episode two of Mayweather-Marquez 24/7 with my 8-year-old son. My buddy asks Bryce: "Do you like UFC? You know, MMA?"

Bryce responded, without hesitation, "That SUCKS."

That's my boy. :)

Take care,

How the f*ck did Judge Fitzgerald score that fight 116-112 for Escovedo? WTF? At least Katsidis got the decision he deserved.

John-Juarez should be KILLER. Their first fight was an epic draw.

When's the Mayweather fight?
Chris John v. Rocky Juarez for the featherweight world title is next, then the main event. Watch this one, dude: Their first fight earlier this year was an EPIC draw.

All action, no clinching. Good stuff.

This has been an excellent undercard, a rarity for a PPV fight. I think boxing is starting to wake up to the competition from MMA.

Nice to see Chris John honor the late Arturo Gatti on the back of his trunks.

P.S.: Just read on Twitter that Katsidis has a broken jaw in that fight and still won. MEGA props!
