Don't know why I was posting results in the free agent thread, but that's what happens when you post right before bed I guess...
Love seeing everyone's highlights on the OF site. Game played a bit slower online than offline (this was my first venture head-to-head) but I like it. It's like they finally made a Madden for old people.
Yep, turnovers was it. Darrelle Revis had a good night.eman wrote:Ouch, 27-0? I checked stats in your game (I'm trying to scout you guys since I havent played online much) and total yardage was basically even, but Brando had 4 turnovers. I guess it goes to show the importance of protecting the football.Slumberland wrote:Speaking of receivers, Marvin Harrison caught zero passes in the Jets opener. Good time playing with Brando as the Jets defeated the Texans 27-0.

Jets Carpetbomb Houston in Texans Opener
HOUSTON - Maybe someone forgot to tell the Houston Texans the regular season started.
The New York Jets blanked the Texans 27-0 in Houston's home opener, with the New York defense completely dominating the Texans offense. The Jets aggressive blitzing harassed Houston quarterback Matt Schaub all game, dropping him for four sacks and forcing two interceptions. The Jets also intercepted backup quarterback Rex Grossman, subbing for a temporarily injured Shaub, and forced a fumble on a Houston kick return.
Rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez looked like the veteran, going 11 for 17 for 104 yards and leading the Jets on two key scoring drives. Schaub finished 12 for 23 for 132 yards and appeared out of synch for the entire game.
The first half saw both defenses clamping down on the opposing offenses, until Sanchez and running back Thomas Jones guided the Jets down the field at the end of the first half, setting up a one-yard touchdown run by Jones.
Rather than run out the clock and receive the ball at the start of the third quarter, the Texans attempted to rush down the field. Instead, Schaub threw his first interception, giving the Jets just enough time to set up a 40-yard field goal by Jay Feely and give the Jets a 10-0 lead.
Things went quickly south in the third quarter, as Houston's Jacoby Jones fumbled on a kick return. Several plays later, Jones scored again on a 10-yard run, giving the Jets a 17-0 lead. Finally, up 20-0 in the fourth, Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis picked off Schaub and returned the interception 56 yards to seal the 27-0 win.
The Jets host the Patriots in week 2, while the Texans travel to Nashville to face the Titans.

Good game, Slumber. I had fun despite my awful performance. You did a very good job mixing up your defenses, keeping me off balance, and protecting the football. At least I had the comic relief of watching Rex The Sex Cannon Grossman pirouette and throw a perfect interception.Slumberland wrote:Yep, turnovers was it. Darrelle Revis had a good night.

Love the video highlights and am glad to have the franchise started. I really hope we keep it going.

4 games left, 3 of which are head to head. Tonight is the last night I was going to throw the switch at midnight CT. If someone has a game planned that would run into that timing speak up and I will delay it until your done tonight.

Dolphins 28, Falcons 14
The Miami Dolphins, led by rookie Vontae Davis' 2 interceptions and a ball control offense led by Chad Pennington, defeated the Atlanta Falcons on opening day. The Dolphins had a 20:07 to 11:53 lead in time of possession, led by an unspectacular running game and a solid game from Pennington, with a line of 13-18, 215yds, 3 TD, 1 INT. The Dolphins did not have an answer for Michael Turner who rushed for 102 yards and two TDs. However, Turner only had seven carries, as the Falcons played in come from behind mode for most of the second half.
However, the Fins lost rookie CB Sean Smith, who is out for seven weeks with a broken collarbone.
