Well, the Online Franchise website is down (again) for me, so I can't pull exact stats, but the Cards beat the Niners 38-23.

Kurt Warner was something like 20 of 32 for 396 yards, 4 TDs, and 1 INT. The INT was awesome--there were a set of criss-crossing routes that I got confused. I thought the "X" receiver was running a flag route and threw it on the break. Instead, he was running a post and I threw it straight into triple coverage

In all I think Fitzgerald had 5 catches for 120 yards and 2 TD's, Boldin had 4 for 110 and a TD, and Urban had a nice broken-tackle for a 35 yard TD grab.

The rushing attack is completely nonexistent (14 carries for a 2.3 average) still. So I'd say the Cardinals play exactly like they did last year...throw the ball, throw it again, and then throw some more.

They also can't defend the run (Frank Gore had an 82 yard TD after 3 broken tackles in the backfield and racked up something like 160 on the day).

Thank God for Shaun Hill--5 picks and a quick 31-7 deficit will take the running game out of the equation. Gore had over 100 yards in the first quarter.

The Broncos beat the Bengals on a last second field goal to pull out a 13-10 win.

Orton tried to give the game away wit h3 picks and good god he can't throw deep. But a nice punt return by Royals secured the win.

In what i will call a shocker it looks like the Bills beat the Patriots 28-7. If the website is to be believed.

Rams open up with a 10-7 win at Seattle.

After I got up 10-0 early in the 2nd qtr the Seahawks didnt let me breathe.
I got the much feared holding call on a made fg on the last play of the 1st half.

Steven Jackson had 53 yds on 22 carries while Bulger went for 145 on 11 of 14.

Lets just say it was old school.

The Bears and Packers have been playing for a hell of a long time, but there haven't been too many games as manic and unbelievable as the one that started this season. In the first half alone, D. Hester had 2 100+ yard TD returns, Ryan Grant had an 86-yd TD run and J. Cutler had 2 picks and a passer rating of under 10! Hester also had a 3rd return for a TD called back in the second half because of a clipping penalty.

The teams combined for 8 turnovers...and only 7 3rd down conversions LOL The Bears looked whipped down 8 with 2:00 left and Ryan Grant running it down their throat. But with 1:50 left Brian Urlacher absolutely buried Grant and forced a fumble which was recovered by Josh Bullocks. With still so much to do and against the odds Cutler engineered an amazing drive, marching his team 62 yards in 7 plays over just 1:35 before hitting Earl Bennet with a 20-yd TD pass to convert a desperate 4th and 11! He then drillled a wide open Desmond Clark for the critical 2 point conversion.

With less than 15 seconds left the Bears opted to kick it deep rather than giving the Packers a shot at the end zone with a hail mary. Aaron Rodgers got the ball back with one shot at a prayer. He hurled a ball deep into triple coverage to James Jones. Erstwhile hero Josh Bullocks deflected the ball only to see it land gently in the arms of the intended receiver, who gathered it in and scampered into the end zone for a truly stunning 71-yd game winning TD as time expired.

Final: Packers 42 - Bears 35.

Best game of Madden I've ever played vs. the CPU. I'm totally drained. LOL

Dan, guess you missed my post a page back or so. I stink, so it could be a long year for the Pats.

Cowboys hold off a late rally from the Bucs to win the season opener 21-13. Romo was the POTG going 11-18 255 2tds to Jason Witten and Roy Williams respectively. The running game was able to muster just 85 yds on 19 carries from the 3 headed monster of Barber, Jones, and Choice, with Barber carrying the bulk of the load. The 'Boys got off to a 21-0 halftime lead on a 13yd scamper by Choice and td passes to Williams and Witten. The Bucs K Bryant missed 2 field goals from less than 40yds each, but was able to redeem himself in the second half with kicks from 29 and 22 yds. The Bucs took advantage of a fumble from Barber in the 4th, with a td pass by Leftwich to Stovall with 3:40 left to play. The Boys, however were able to run out the clock behind the running of Barber and Jones.

Next week the 'Boys open up brand new Cowboys Stadium against division rival G-Men. Cowboys owner Jones has "promised" a fine to any punter who hits the gigantic video board above the field.

You're telling me! And I left out a ton of crazy stuff. In realistic fashion, Hester also fumbled a kick return which was returned for TD. 2 of Cutler' 3 INT's were balls that went off the hands of a wide-open receiver. And the last play of the game was just bizarre, with Jones totally smothered by DB's and still coming out of the pack with the ball.

I was so flabbergasted that I didn't even grab any replays! LOL

I may need to alter the schedule a bit guys as I just realized I can't advanced the week in the web software, which pretty much is the stupidest s*** ever.

So I really can have advancement at 9am since I will be at work. I'll look at the times tonight.

That's one of the two 20yd+ runs Portis had in the Giants game that helped him to 115yds on the day.

Highlights also automatically go to the league site when you upload them, but it seems not all of them, maybe only so many per game.

I played my game against the Rrrrrraiders last night. Phillip Rivers through 4 interceptions, all returned for touchdowns and the Chargers lost 28-21 in OT.

Needless to say I wasn't very happy. Interception bug!!!!!

I was hoping I could download video clips from the website and kind of edit a weekly video recap show but it appears you can't save them.

Also I have to look at each team for injuries as the news doesn't list it. I could think if 25 things off the top of my head i could improve with this website.

Titans win a Defensive Slugfest

Post by tmdba37 »

The Titans turned an Interception return for TD into a winning score as they defeat the Defending Super Bowl Champion Steelers, 10-0.

The Titans played ball control as to not have to deal with Troy Polamalu as seen with the low passing numbers of Kerry Collins (7-11 90 Yards). Their available running lanes were tight as Chris Johnson only rushed for 47 yards on 10 carries.

The Steelers had a great game yards wise behind the strong, but somewhat erratic arm of Ben Roethlisberger, who had 16 completions for 229 Yards passing but unfortunately threw four interceptions.

The Steelers travel to Chicago to play the Bears while the Titans return to Nashville to face the Houston Texans.

Pittsburgh is shut out at Heinz Field 10-0 by the Titans. Ben Roethlisberger struggled in the red zone and ended with 4 ints on the night. Only bright spots for the Steelers were a 35 yard run from Willie Parker and Shaun McDonald's 4 catches for 98 yards. Very good defensively coached game from the Titans.

The Ravens opened their season at home against the Chiefs and the hometown fans went home shocked that the Ravens put up 45 points on and gave up 35 points to the Chiefs.

The Chiefs meant business right from the outset putting together 2 touchdown drives which the Ravens answered each time. Tied at 14 the Chiefs drove the field again but this time the Ravens defense finally stiffened up and held the Chiefs to a field goal attempt which they missed. The missed field goal vaulted the Ravens to a 31-14 lead in the third quarter.

It looked like the game was all wrapped up when Larry Johnson caught a pass over the middle of the field and made 3 defenders miss on his way to a touchdown to cut the lead to 10. The Chiefs defense forced a three-and-out and took full advantage by marching down the field and cutting the lead to 3. The Ravens fumbled the ball on their own thirty next to set up the Chiefs with excellent field position which they took quick advantage of.

21 quick points left the Ravens down 4 with 5:00 to go in the game. The Ravens faithful were shocked. The Chiefs were shocked. I was shocked. My wife was, well she didn't give a s*** and went to bed. The Ravens had to rely on Flacco to bring them down the field to take the lead and that's just what he did. With just under 30 seconds left Flacco dropped back, saw coverage, rolled right, saw more coverage, and finally ran it in himself to take a 3-point lead late.

The Chiefs find themselves with 1 desperation play to go with 3 seconds on the clock when the Ravens defense picked off the pass and took it to the house to preserve a 45 - 35 win against the feisty Chiefs.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Badgun your opponent for this week is trying to reach you via XBL, can you please get back to him.

Remember guys I can't give out wins so if the game doesn't get played it gets simmed. But if someone starts missing multiple games without posting why they are going to get booted.

This is not directed at badgun just a general note and not a threat. Things come up, people lose interest etc. But for the people who do want to participate they would much rather play the AI then have a game simmed.

Also it's not a bad idea to start scheduling your week 2 game asa they start on Thursday. Nozzleman that's me and you bud and Thursday night is perfect for me.
