Where is your interception slider set? I haven't even thrown many interceptions lately with the slider at 15. I am averaging 2 picks a game in my latest franchise (somewhat randomly selected Seattle as they are rated in the middle) but have faced average at best QBs lately in Hill, Bulger, and the Chicago backup. Peyton and Warner are coming up so we'll see if I need to drop it to zero.

As far as CPU running Jackson and Gore both ran for over 100 yards against me but I shut down Forte. This is with my run defense sliders lowered significantly.

My last game was one of my best games ever. After having a FG blocked that could have given me an 8 point lead, Chicago's backup QB drove the field and took the lead on me with 5 minutes remaining but I responded with a nice drive to re-take the lead and then I held to win it.

Can you adjust sliders after starting a franchise? I can't find them in the franchise menus. I did adjust them outside of franchise, but I'm not sure if the game will always use those or not.

Thanks, Leebo. I haven't touched the sliders and instead have been using the My Skill settings based upon someone else's recommendation, but I guess it's time to ditch that approach and try adjusting the sliders myself. I have seen a lot of people saying that Bill Harris' slider set is good but I'm just not interested in playing at Fast or Very Fast speed, whichever his slider set is based upon.

I'm using Play Maker's sliders from OS, and having very competitive and enjoyable games. I probably should have played on default for a few weeks, but was too impatient.

You can change them once you start a game but not from the Franchise menu. Just save your profile and franchise once the game is over and your sliders will stick.

Can you adjust them in the game as well, or are they completely ties to the profile?

I've stuck with All-Pro defaults and Normal speed, and so far haven't seen a big reason to change anything. That will probably change the more I play, but it seems like the sliders work (finally).

Yes you can adjust sliders during a game and they will stick as long as you save your profile again.

Are you guys getting a large shoe ad above the banner at the bottom of the screen? It's very annoying and I swear if I can't get it removed I'm going to take back everything positive I said about the game. Today was the first time I ever saw it. :x

I've seen McDonald's ads and some others... not sure about a shoe add, but maybe. Regardless, it's an irritating rectangular add at the bottom of the screen whenever I'm logged in on XBL.

This is on PS3. I quit the game and came back and the ads were gone. There are plenty of other opportunities for advertising. It wouldn't be bad on stadium signs and I don't even mind the stupid Snickers ads or they can sponsor the halftime show for all I care. But putting an ad on the screen during gameplay is taking it too far.

I'm half way through my Seattle season and loving my stats. There have been 15 total interceptions and the NFL average last season was 14.5. There have been 9 lost fumbles which seems pretty realistic. I've taken 4 turnovers back for scores and given up a few as well. I've had great variety. Got blown out at home to Jacksonville and lost 2 heartbreakers on the road to Indy (lost on an immaculate reception type play with the game tied late in the 4th) and Dallas. Almost shutout Detroit 30-7 and had a 1 point win vs. Arizona. I have three road games in a row starting at 5-3 Arizona which will probably decide my fate.

Zeppo can tell you all about how I feel about the McDonald's ads I had on the bottom right of my screen during our game last week.

My first season ends with a 33-11 beating at the hands of the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
Parker went for 174 yards on 28 carries while Roethlisberger threw for 222 on 21 of 34 passes. Yuck.

Here you see a typical play from this mess as the great Marc Bulger slips dropping back on this would be screen pass that was doomed anyway. I blame the rain. :P

How's the (360) online? Last year, I played more online games with friends than franchise.

Online is really good. You can't tweak sliders, but I've had great connections with the only issue being the slightest bit of kicking meter lag.

Online has been more fun than offline so far since I'm struggling with sliders.

Is anyone having replays during a game? Like,t he auto ones, a la a broadcast? I have mine set to ON, but in 20 games or so I have yet to see a single replay of any play.....

Make sure your playcalling is set to anything but "Hardcore". I have mine at Advanced and I'll get lots of auto replays, sometimes even on back to back plays.

I rarely see any replays either, but I assumed it was because I have rewinds set to on. This is with advanced playcalling, FWIW.

Love Love love this game. Especially online. Had some fun games this weekend.

The action was highlighted by an intense semi- defensive battle with Terry last night in which his Raiders defeated my Rams 17-14 on a last minute fg. The loss running my record vs him to about 0 and 100. One day soon I will get that win you bastard.

Also had a couple of goofy losses on saturday vs Zep.
One in which his Jets defeated my Vikings even though I out gained him 300 to 100. Special teams and turnovers did me in as he took a missed fg(YES a missed f***in fg  ) all the way for a TD . On the bright side for the Vikes. Adrain Peterson did go for around 150? and 2 Td's.
In the other game his Panthers defeated my Eagles as DeSean Jackson( thats right!) threw a pick 6 out of the Wildcat in what proved to be the game winner. I wanted to see him pass :P
Zeppo, as always, fun stuff...the bizzare rivalry continues!

I know ..I know... 3 losses but what can I say...I love this game :D

I had an ad issue last week and posted about it, but no one seemed to know what I was talking about. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Anyways, those ads piss me off royally. Honestly, I couldn't see TOP as the MTV ad was in the way. Way to go EA, way to piss off your customer base.

Who do you control on defense?

Post by eman »

Does anyone play CB on defense? I do almost exclusively and am getting to the point where I can shutdown the opposing teams best WR. Great way to play defense...

I've only noticed the Snickers but I'm playing online, which doesn't show the replay after every play and any type of cut scenes I dismiss right away.

It's interesting that every time you boot up the game, first thing it does is log into PSN, even before you select the Online menu.

So it's probably connecting some server to retrieve ads, assuming they change all the time? Maybe if you log off of PSN before starting the game, you could avoid the ads?

Maybe EA could offer a DLC to get an ad-free game.

That MTV ad had me so furious that it made me turn the game off. It was beyond intrusive, as it popped up EVERY SINGLE TIME you stepped up to the line of scrimmage.
