Hey all, TMDBA37=Todd. . .I am a friend of Dan's and asked if I could jump in the fray with you. . .I am a Bears fan, but like Jeff Fisher, so took the Titans when Dan showed me the list of teams. . .I've been playing Madden forever, but really didn't really feel like playing online until they came out with the online franchise. . .so as you can imagine I am excited to be part of this league. . .

Yeah, sorry. I only read far enough back in the thread to see the instructions for joining online. I'll take the Packers if they're still available and will see if I can dump the Vikes - otherwise please boot me and I'll rejoin. Thanks.

EDIT: I tried to rejoin with the Packers and can't - says I've been banned from this league. Can you somehow "unban" me?

Cool! Welcome to DSP. Hope you stick around, we've got a great bunch of fair online players and various styles of goofballs here. How many Bears fans are in this league? We could have an entire conference of Bears vs. Bears.

Danimal, when can we start to make FA claims? While we still have so many players yet to join the franchise, I'm not sure if you're cool with claims being made. I've got at least one move in mind I'd like to get done before we start playing.

Hey guys. I'll officially sign in tonight for the Vikings. Would love to have Blubblub take the Packers so we have 3 of the 4 covered in the NFC North. Thanks for setting this up Dan.

In with the Texans. Really looking forward to doing this franchise. The DSP/OS season we did with NFL 2k5 was the most fun I've ever had with a sports game.

And who is this TMDBA that appears to have the Titans? Have we been introduced at DSP?

Well if that's true then i am sorry i kicked him so the owner could claim the team. TMDBA is a friend of mine and we'll also have another owner who is a friend of someone here who is not at dsp since no one else signed up and those two guys wanted in. I will ask him to join here.

I'm still away at a conference so my online time is limited.

It's possible that if you invite him, he can get back in, and that he simply can't join again on his own having been kicked. I'm not sure but it's worth looking into.

Since this will likely be my last time online until I return friday I am going to cover a few things here.

We almost need a new thread with a sticky but thats up to jared.

1. Sorry I didn't mean to ban blub, i had no idea that would happen. I knew i was going away on this trip and wanted the owner to be able to sign up. I'll see if I can unban you when i return.

2. RULE CHANGE: I've talked to a few people running leagues and I want to switch how we do FA claims. Instead of being limited to 5 moves. Each team will be given 10 FA points.

To claim a player you will post a thread on the league web site that says:

FA Claim: XXX player - XX points

This is your bid, other owners have 24 hours to place a higher bid. Each bid adds 24 hours.

Only after a claim has cleared and you have won the bid you may put the player on your roster.

All the other rules involving IR etc are the same it's just we're using points. This will allow 2 things:

a. everyone a fair chance at claiming a player
b. a more competitive system for signing better rated players.

3. This is the scheduled paste .

You have until next Friday 8/28 to join the site with the team you selected.
Starting on Sat. 8/29 anyone can start making FA claim,.

1st week games start Sunday 8/30 and then we will flow into this schedule.

Monday 10am CST - Thursday 9 am CST (M-W effectively)
Thursday 10am CST - Monday 9am CST (Thr - Sun Effectively)

4. This isn't aimed at anyone in particular but these are the rules I have choosen to go with, could we have more complex rules, yes we cold but this is what I have time to manage. I hope everyone understands this point, lets get a season under our belt and see what the results are then we can vote on changes.

5. Finally I don't know if my PM's never went through but I asked the following people to be on the league board so to speak. Zep, Terry and Scoop. If the 3 of you could let me know you're interest it would be appreciate. This will help me settle disptes and transfer the league if i have to go away etc,

Thanks guys when i get back i will start a new thread here, pt the final rules and schedule in the first psot. I also see what I can do abut blub.

Thanks Dan, no worries - it was my bad to begin with by not reading all the rules and the ban is no doubt the result of trying to fix my mistake. If you guys can save the Pack for me I'm sure we can sort it out when he gets back.

Guys, I don't want to bother Dan as I know he is away. My code is activated, but I haven't been on in a while. Can someone please tell me what I need to do to sign in for the league (where to go, name, password, etc.)?

Make sure to check the list of available teams a few pages back before signing up (which doesn't necessarily correspond to the one online) - don't make my mistake ;(

Thought about taking the Raiders, but I'm already Oakland in the OS online franchise. It'd be nice to have a different team, so I'll stick with the Cards, or maybe take one of the lesser teams that's leftover if it's too much for me to have Fitzgerald and Boldin and Warner.
