Oh, and I took a Maddenholiday tomorrow
Madden 10 - Will they prove us wrong?

I remember them having a midnight party last year for the release of Madden 09, so not sure if some BB's will beat the curfew, let me know.Gangrel wrote:Hmmmm, the best buy website is showing madden as "in stock" at my local stores........ do i trust them and think BB has it out a day early?!?!?
Another offer I just read, you can trade two eligible games at Rogers Video and get Madden for free.

Check out the following Wal-Mart site. They include a pre-apology letter to send to your girlfriends/wives. You can also buy a dozen roses for $8 as an apology for playing Madden instead of paying attention to her. You do get a $10 gift card for purchasing from Wal-Mart.

I may say that you're a dreamer . . . but you're not the only one . . . I hope someday I'll join you . . . and the Madden will live as oneSlumberland wrote:Imagine there's no release date... I wonder if you can... just shelves of early Madden... a brotherhood of man...eman wrote:Oh yeah, I'm always jealous of those of you who somehow find a way to get the game before everyone else. Curse you...
Anyway, I have a silly question: when you import a Road to Glory guy, does it import the whole draft class? I'm wondering about names, because my RTG guy is in a world where only he has a name, and I'd prefer to have real names in there with me.
The game is...excellent. What stands out most for me is how well they've captured how teams play. Going against Miami, Pennington consistently dinked and dunked in the middle of the field, and they mixed in a ton of screens. Playing Houston, they loved to go three wide and to send Steve Slaton in motion out of the backfield to isolate him out wide against a linebacker on deep routes. It's very, very believable.
It's showing up as "in stock" at my local best buys also but, unfortunately, I just called there and they said that they're not selling it until tomorrow.10spro wrote:I remember them having a midnight party last year for the release of Madden 09, so not sure if some BB's will beat the curfew, let me know.Gangrel wrote:Hmmmm, the best buy website is showing madden as "in stock" at my local stores........ do i trust them and think BB has it out a day early?!?!?

I played my first franchise game last night and got my first look at the Extra point weekly wrap up show and frankly it's not as bad as I expected.
Yes there are no highlights and there is that crappy sound editing but it does keep me more involved in my franchise and gets me important information. I think there is a good base here to build upon.
Now the half time show is a different story. That does show highlights and I think it's not as well done as the weekly show.
Regardless my first game was a 14-6 win over the Packers. My scores coming from a 4 yard forte run and a 85 yard Forte run. Other then that it was a defensive battle.

The other Bill is non-specific at this point but also apparently impressed:

I used Harris's sliders on 2K5. They were good.

Matt, I did the same thing (Maddenholiday). Now I just have to decide if I really want to haul my 40 year old ass to Best Buy tonight, or just stroll in and buy it at 10am tomorrow...matthewk wrote:I cannot wait for midnight. The only other time I went out at that time for a game was Madden 2004. That was also the last time I was really excited about a Madden game.

I didn't end up trying for it anyway. Sunshine + heat = beer, and my pool all afternoon, followed by an ass kicking at softball!GTHobbes wrote:It's showing up as "in stock" at my local best buys also but, unfortunately, I just called there and they said that they're not selling it until tomorrow.10spro wrote:I remember them having a midnight party last year for the release of Madden 09, so not sure if some BB's will beat the curfew, let me know.Gangrel wrote:Hmmmm, the best buy website is showing madden as "in stock" at my local stores........ do i trust them and think BB has it out a day early?!?!?

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have this game yet.
At least I've been so busy at work this week that I haven't even noticed everybody else has it. I would venture out for the midnight release but I've had such a long week at work that I'm just to beat to go get it. I finally have a short day tomorrow so I'll pick it up on my way home. I'm pumped for this game.

I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

I'm really digging how each game feels different.
Bears Franchise
Game 1
Bears 14 Packer 6
Defensive game, highlighted by 2 matt forte runs other then that it was a typical Bears / Pack slug fest.
Game 2
Steelers 20 Bears 10
This game wasn't even close. I couldn't stop Parker, I could stop Homes. If not for a key turn over in the end zone it would of been 27-10. The shut down my run game completely and Cutler was on his ass most of the game. Bears committed 15 penalties!
Game 3
Bears 45 Seattle 7
This game started with the Seahawks hitting the first play from scrimmage for 71 yards on a screen for a TD. It was the last thing they did right all day. Cutler was finally able to break 100 yards in the air hitting Hester and Olsen for big scores. Forte was grinding up the yards on to a 102 yard day on 29 carries.
The real thing that happen here is Hasslebach got hurt in the first quarter and it ended up being a season ending injury, fractured collar bone. The cool thing is I watched him get crunched by Harris and Brown and I knew it wasn't good even before the play was over and we went to replay. I never scored this many points in a game before and it was only because I had time in the pocket.
Had to shut her down for the night but I see the Viking have Pat Williams on the trading block but are asking a lot. Might be nice to have Harris and Williams....hmmm
Plus i need to check with my scouts, I've invested 3 weeks in a Grade A receiver to find out his catch rating is a 71 if my scouts are right, time to move on to another prospect.

I was like 35th in line and I was out the door in 7 minutes...They went quick there.GTHobbes wrote:Just got to gamestop and am # 10 of 10 in line at Lenox Mallon Atlanta. Gonna be a late night playing.
Edit: 5 minutes later and I'm already out the door.
This game is seriously the best football I have played in a very long time. Played two games and teams are so different. I might even end up playing full length games as 12 minute quarters are not enough. WTH! I am serious!
