I am not sure of the reason that an actual playoff was omitted and it is a glaring oversight. However, the winner is decided based upon stats compiled during the initial 18 holes. Again, not sure why this was done this way and agree that it should be patched, but I am not sure if it is "patchable" if it is part of the game design. This might be outside the scope of a normal patch.Auditor_Kevin wrote:Is there any indication that they'll fix the "no playoffs - you're the default winner" oversight in an upcoming patch?
It boggles my mind how they could forget this part of the game.

Yep, though I think it's in China. Tried a round on it last night. A number of elevated greens which are usually pretty well protected. Also a number of decisions to make off the tee instead of 'hit down the fairway as far you can.'DivotMaker wrote:New course unlocked for the TW Online Beta...Sheshan Golf Club in Japan I believe....
Of course my golfer's ratings in TW online are still terrible and playing off the shortest tees can give a somewhat different impression of the course.

This course really makes you think about Course Management on a number of holes. This is not a pure "grip it and rip it" course...

So I was playing a Skins game with a friend. At the end of the match, we both had the same amount of money ($750 each), he had more 'skins' than me (10 to my 8 ), yet the game declared ME as the winner of the entire match. Any idea why?? I tried searching tie breaker rules for skins games, but didn't find anything.

Well that's tough might be a TW thing. Usually in skins you don't see too many ties for overall cash. In the skins game, I think they had a playoff.greggsand wrote:So I was playing a Skins game with a friend. Here, it's probably just TW not really how it works. You should have lost seeing how your friend won more holes and since there's no playoff. The only thing I can think of is that you won more money per skin, thus...winner.

I looked around some. The best I could figure (if this is a real rule & not a TW issue) is some websites (non-USGA) mentioned a rule that in the case of a tie, the last person to win a skin, wins the match. That makes ZERO sense to me, but whatever.JRod wrote:Well that's tough might be a TW thing. Usually in skins you don't see too many ties for overall cash. Same here. I hate fantasy courses.Auditor_Kevin wrote:The one yesterday was The Predator, right?
I'll pass on that one.
Nope...coming to 360 and PS3....Auditor_Kevin wrote:Did you guys see the message on the menu screen about "coming soon - online PGA Tour season"?
Anyone have more info on that? I figured that was going to be for the PC version only.

Eh, nifty (so far). My wish list would be "capped" private matches among friends - it's kind of a bummer when one friend is a 13 and everyone else is 8. 2nd would be the game "rates" your golfer online much like the single player events. If all u do is play online with friends, your guy never gets any better... Oh and the PRO setting for created online matches (strange omission).DivotMaker wrote:Guess we will find out soon....

I saw in the EA blog, a reference to another TW10 patch that is currently in QA testing. Anyone know what this patch will contain?

I don't have the complete listing, but I do know they are removing the ability to chip in the green as well as fixing a couple of issues that the first patch introduced as well as some other freezing issues that other users have complained about.greggsand wrote:I saw in the EA blog, a reference to another TW10 patch that is currently in QZ testing. On another note from the TW Online Beta....EA has enabled TrueSwing (very early version) for TW Online play....so far it is very promising and needs some tuning, but I am happy to see TrueSwing make a return to the game....
The online Tour is up and running. If you intend to participate hit me up with an XBL Friends List request.
I like the way the payouts work. You get paid a certain amount for each person you beat. Bascially even the 2nd to last place guy in the tourney will at least get a little something.
I'm trying to earn the 5 mill. online achievement so hopefully this can help me get there. It was getting to the point that I'd participate in as many daily / weekly tournaments as possible and more than half of them I'd win $0.00.
Yes, I'm that bad.

You never know....agree that the game misrepresents the PGA TOUR in a number of respects, especially the gameplay in TOUR Pro. I have seen users shoot -35 to -36 in an 18 hole round and that is not representative of the "inside the ropes of the PGA TOUR"....Auditor_Kevin wrote:

How is 36 under in a round even possible?? That would mean they would need 2 under on every hole. Without cheats I don't know how anyone could do that? My best record ever was 17 under, and that included a few eagles and one hole in one. I was driving it 340yards all day. How could anyone possibly do that lol.DivotMaker wrote:You never know....agree that the game misrepresents the PGA TOUR in a number of respects, especially the gameplay in TOUR Pro. OK as Fletch mentioned how does someone shoot a 36 under in a golf game without cheating? I'm obviously not that good at golf games so out of curiosity I would like to know.DivotMaker wrote:It was done the day that Banff Springs was released.fletcher21 wrote:

I'm loving the online (360) with friends - esp skins. Is there a way I and a friend (each on separate 360's) go online as a team & play 2 others in a game of best ball or 4 ball? It wasn't obvious in the lobbies of a way to do it.

This was done by a PS3 user using a Hori controller and basically holed out most shots from the fairway. Hori controllers are notorious for having less sensitive analog sticks than stock controllers, therefore these users are not having to worry about mis hits....it is ridiculous that holeouts from the fairway are the norm instead of the random exception as they are IRL on the PGA TOUR...Rodster wrote: OK as Fletch mentioned how does someone shoot a 36 under in a golf game without cheating?
