OT: "Bruno"
Anyone else see this yet? Easily the most offensive movie I have ever seen. Makes "The Hangover" look like a Disney movie. That said, there were some really funny moments which kind of offset all the uncomfortable moments. I can't believe what they can get away with these days with a "R" rating. Anyways, worth seeing if you are a Sacha Cohen fan. I wish he would do a movie based on his Ali G character (the rapper). That was my favorite character.

In 2002, the Ali G movie came out - Ali G Indahouse

I may go back to watch it, but I wasn't impressed by the first 10 minutes. I liked his interviews of famous people though.

I watched it last night and thought it was funny but not great. It just seemed like he was trying to hard to make the movie as shockingly gay as possible and in the end it falls kinda flat. I'm glad I saw it but I didn't laugh even half as hard as I did at Borat.
In Da House (the Ali G movie) was hilarious too! It is way more of a British humor though which you'll either love or not so much. His lil' blue car had me cracking up every time he got in it:)

I saw it yesterday and thought it was pretty disappointing. I'm a fan of the show and Borat really exceeded my expectations of what Cohen could do dragging 5 minute skits into feature length movies. Unfortunately Bruno fell well short of Borat IMO.
I agree with Mac that he was trying to so hard to make it as shocking as possible that most of the gags ended up falling flat in terms of humor. I also think the Bruno character is so patently ridiculous that he never got his interviewees going because they immediately recognized things as a total farce. Only with the baby scenes did he ever truly get people riled up, making it the best part of the movie. Loved those pictures.

Yep, I feel like Ive seen it already. I am a big fan of the show so as soon as its out on disc....ScoopBrady wrote:The fact that I have seen Bruno everywhere I look and he is being forced down our throats has killed any desire I had to see the movie. Maybe by the time it comes out on video I'll be able to tolerate him again.
the problem with these "characters" is that they are funny in small doses, but when you have a whole movie, it's tough to keep up that level for 90 min's. I will say one thing, this movie is not boring. There's virtually no "slow" moments in the whole movie.
Sidenote: "Bruno" was on the Stern show today on Sirius. Also, the movie was #1 at the box office over the weekend.
