Now that's a good fight: Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker vs. Diego "Chico" Corrales. Two all-time greats. Too bad their careers near the top or in the same weight class never overlapped. That would have been a great fight.
I know guys love to create fighters and play career modes, but the fun for a game like this for me, as a student of the sweet science, would be to have rematches of actual fights or all these hypothetical great bouts. Damn, that would be fantastic.
Take care,

Same here, but I haven't had a chance to create a fighter yet...just started up a Legacy with Tyson and boxed one match before having to call it quits last night.
Dan or anyone else with the PS3 version...how's the online? Is it smooth?
I have not ventured online, but I heard it's lag free. Take that for what it's worth. YMMV. However, I do hear that there are slugfests galore online making it almost not worth playing. It all depends on your opponent. I'm up for a sim style fight one of these nights.
For all those turned on to boxing by FN 4, just a reminder that "Friday Night Fights" at 10 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2 features an excellent card. Five of the fights will feature blue-chip prospects promoted by Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, so these cats are all potential future world champions.
I doubt any of the five magic men will face quality opponents this early in their respective careers, so you should see some early-round stoppages.
One of the fighters is U.S. heavyweight hope Deontay Wilder, the only U.S. medalist in boxing at Beijing. Another guy -- can't remember his name -- has scored first-round KO's in all of his fights so far.
Enjoy!
Take care,

I picked up the 360 version yesterday. After the little league game and MJ coverage I started my legacy with my created heavyweight boxer. I've started out 3-0 with 3 ko's as I've grown addicted to the power punch. I do see however where the strategy lies in this game and that its going to be important to use strategy once I get into the higher ranked boxers. Great game so far though.
Guys, I've been having the game freeze up on me just on the first loading screen, but I think I've discovered the solution.
It turns out that having the Connect360 on was the culprit.
I was on my 2nd game disc, having exchanged my original disc due to the freezing. I thought the problem must be a messed up disc or bad pressing as I've had with other EA Sports titles. But after working fine the first couple of sessions, this new disc froze up on me as well at that first loading screen. Freaked me out.
But I found a relevant thread over at OS, and one poster pointed out from his scouring the internets for info that streaming music setups seemed to be the culprit.
So, I checked, and indeed my Connect360 was on. So, I turned it off, and there you go, no more freeze ups trying to load the game.
I hope they patch this issue, because I do like to stream internet radio while I play most games on the 360, but for now I'm just relieved there isn't anything broken in my machine, and so I can continue to delve deeper into this amazing game!
One thing I'd like to see is a "run around the ring" button. Keeping the distance between you and your opponent is tougher than I would expect in a real match.
Bought it today & love it. Played mostly online with friends. One of my friends is a punch-crazy/haymaker freak. I sit back, block, & throw half the punches he does. I'm 6-0 with 6 KO's...

How do you cut someone or damage their face? I've pumped tons of jabs, crosses, hooks, and uppercuts into guys mugs but hardly puff an eye. Do I need to use the haymaker to cut someone?

Bump up boxer speed to 80 percent. Default is 50 percent and each notch up is 10 percent more. It really makes a difference when using the heavy weights.
I really like how much a fight can turn on one punch. Like many others I had a fight in the bag but couldn't resist going for the knockout. Next thing I know, my opponent is winning the "Comeback of the Year" end-of-year award.
I only had a chance to box a few matches in my Tyson Legacy this weekend but had a blast doing so. Great game. This ought to tide me over nicely for the next couple of months.
Anyone else having their fighters disappear on the screen? I started my legacy with my created boxer...fought the first couple of fights and in the third fight, my guy (and the opponent) just disappear from the ring. You can't get out of it unless you quit the game entirely. It's happened 5 or 6 times in about 30 fights. Anyone else seen that?

Have never seen this either.

Would you guys mind uploading you created fighters so they can be used in career mode? I've already uploaded 2 of my fighters. Arnell Bradley, heavyweight rated 88, and Alonzo Bradley lightweight rated 76.

Look for Jack Delany, a Heavyweight and my first creation;
Bob Roland, the 76 overall Lightweight created for our first tournament;
and Benton Pierce, whom I created at Middleweight using the numbers of Sugar Ray Robinson. All the numbers matched up, yet there were still points left over and he was an overall 80. How is Sugar Ray a 93? So I used up all the points and got to that 86 or 87. He's kicking butt for me at the start of his career as I finally seem to be coming to grips with the Pro difficulty and some of the tricks of the career mode.
In fact, the Benton career is the only one I've populated with the celebrity and 'missing' boxers (like Trinidad, Liston, Holyfield and Norton, or Rocky and Apollo Creed). I love the idea of populating career modes with DSPers' mad creations.
