Millenium's roster over at OS is pretty decent. I heard it's going to be a few weeks or so before there is an offical roster update. That's too long to wait IMO.

I find custom rosters fairly useless until I start my franchise. Mainly because it screws up your batting order and I'm still tuning my sliders with exhibition games. I wish they would offer a way to edit batting order and pitching rotation.

If you mean in roster editor, there is a way to edit batting order and rotation. When you click on any player (as if to edit him) there is an option to edit the team's line-up/rotation.

Wow, I missed that. Could you do that in last year's game? If so, the rosters I was using last year, no one made an effort to edit batting order.

I'm assuming once you start a season or franchise you're stuck with the rosters you started with.

From my understanding, which I admit is limited at best, this was a new feature added for this year's title.

As with all of the other ESPN titles I'd assume that there'd be an official roster update, but who knows when that will happen. Baseball is one of their major franchises, so I'm sure that it'll happen.

I've always found the "official" roster updates that any company puts out for any of their games to be severely lacking and out of date. This is especially true for baseball, as those official updates will still be missing the many players who aren't part of the MLBPA.

If you care to have the best rosters for any game, I can't recommend enough for getting an AR(for Xbox)/Xport(for PS2) and downloading the user rosters you can find at sites like OS (and I'm not trying to plug or spam). There are some serious psycho-roster guys (I use that term as a compliment) out there who do a helluvalot better job than anything I've ever seen ea/espn/etc. put out on their own.

Last year I used a roster that I think Shawn from OS loaded at the Action Replay website. It was great. When spring training started this year, I downloaded another from OS that was updated with trades and signings that took place over the winter. The positives with using these instead of official rosters are that 1. you get players not in the MLBPA, that can't be in an official update (ie. Bonds, Millar, Shane Spencer) and 2. You get the top prospects who can't be included in a game until they appear in an MLB game.

So as long as the creator of the roster does not go and make some scrub a superstar because of personal bias, "non-official" rosters downloaded using an Action Replay can't be beat.

I take offense to the 'psycho-roster' comment. We like to be referred to as 'social-life challenged'.

Just as an update for everyone, the AL East is complete for an update to my rosters (meaning all 5 teams have a bunch of prospects now). I am working on the rest of the league, and hopefully will have them out at OS this weekend/early next week.

Millennium,

I've tried your ESPN rosters, and I just wanted to let your "social-life challenged" azz know that I appreciate the great job you've done. It's people like you that make these games truly enjoyable for the hardcore sports gamers like us...Keep up the good work!
